Thats not really something Atlus USA can do, japanese voice actors sometimes give clauses that their voices are not to be used in western media unless they are paid for again, studios say no to it, more money for atlus to put up just to keep the high profile japanese actors.

Atlus' inability to write proper contracts or unwillingness to pay for JP voice for Western releases because of some fear of reverse import is frankly either stupid or incompetent in 2016.

Personally I would love JP subs but that will not happen either.

I'd be willing to pay a small fee for the JP VA if that's what it takes.

if by that you mean

- never look at any forums other than gaf (not that I haven't been spoiled on games here)
- be extremely careful with gaf's search function
- REALLY don't look at twitch chat or youtube comments or twitter or any other unmoderated space on the internet

then yeah sure I guess I could bury my head in the sand for half a year. This game is massively more anticipated than P4 as well.

I actually rarely look into other gaming forums other than GAF and I don't watch any streams on twitch. Sure, there is twitter, but I haven't been spoiled on any game in my timeline yet and I follow nearly 200 different accounts.
Of course it can always happen that you get spoiled, but if I look back at the release of Dark Souls III, those people who got spoiled couldn't resist watching people stream or looking into spoiler threads. Yes, DSIII was only 3 weeks and it sucks but I never felt that avoiding spoilers was as hard as many think it is. Hell, I haven't even been spoiled regarding GoT (since I am only reading the book and am still going through Vol. 5) and that shit is everywhere.

Until Atlus let's us know how the actual localization process went for P5 or their games in general for that matter, I think they're a bunch of incompetents that don't know how to actually drive a good business. Shit like this would've been infinitely better handled when given to someone like Aksys.

Their incompetency is embarrassing.

Reverse Importation didn't stop Square from including Dual-Audio in FFXV and that game releases simultaneously world-wide.

And this isn't the type of delay you'd have to announce on short notice, either. Saying in mid 2015 that it'd totally be 2015 including a gameplay trailer, then throwing that back 9+ months, then at 3 months out adding +6 for any international version? Come on guys. Just announce a bigger estimated delay the first time or don't give any timeframe at all.

Surprised they could go from such tight releases for the P4A games and then retrograde to this. And come on. Can't there be some way to release it in Europe? People want to buy it! There's got to be some company somewhere that wants to make money! At a tiny tiny silver lining, this will give tons of time to sort out how good the game actually is. If it's sub-par then Atlus will be costing itself millions in pre-order sales it won't receive in the West.
