I've already accepted the reality that Democrats don't vote in large number in midterms. To me, the Supreme Court appointments is enough. This will at least prevent the conservatives from stripping away my rights as a minority LGBT person.

Blocking a supreme court nomination for 4 years will do a lot more damage than there current stance of "wait until the election"
If they block after she wins and if they filibuster when they lose control of the Senate, there is no doubt in my mind that the Democratic majority will go nuclear.

The irony is the "Bernie or Bust" people in my FB feed, who now like to say "Obama didn't do enough", did NOT vote in 2010 or 2014. I looked them up on my local BoE web site, which has a CSV file showing voter participation and registration back to 2010.
If you complain that the Democrats aren't getting enough done for progressive causes but you don't vote in midterms, you are an asshole and a fool.

Ill be voting for Trump. I dont particularly care much for him but hes preferable to Hillary. If Stein had a legitimate chance of pulling enough of the vote to cost Hillary the election (>5%), I would throw my vote her way, but the Greens probably wont even have ballot access in my state (Iowa).
As for the rest of the ballot, Ill just be voting against whoever the incumbent is.

If SCOTUS appointments aren't driving you assuming you are left leaning then I dunno what to tell you. Even if Clinton hadn't clinched it I would have voted Sanders either way simply to ensure we don't end up stacked with something like 2 to 4 other Scalias within the next few years when more justices inevitably retire. At least 2 of them are almost 80 at this point with RBG already pushing 84. A lot is riding on the next 4 to 8 years.

What's scary about it? It's the goddamn truth. To even take seriously the notion that the two candidates are at all comparable is an affront and kick in the teeth to all the groups of people Trump has maligned over the past few years.
I know people like to be cute and holier than thou, calling Clinton a liar or some other bullshit, but it stops being cute and sounds more like lunacy, especially when we're talking about the Presidency here.
It's dangerous and reprehensible. They can do with their vote what they want, but I can call them out for it. And yes, banning goes too far. I know that. It won't happen. I mean it more in the sense that if someone straight up said the shit Trump says about Muslims/Mexicans/etc, calling them rapists and murderers, they'd probably be banned in an instant. What he preaches goes against the civility of GAF, period. And supporting that rhetoric shows yourself to be a horrific person, IMO.

Supporting Trump is the announcement of that, sure, but that's not worth getting outright banned for. Well the two big congressional incumbents are Grassley and Loebsack. Grassley is an immortal vampire who will have his seat until they pry his cold dead fingers from it, so my vote against him is irrelevant. And I lost respect for Loebsack after he voted to block the refugees.
As for the local races, I'll be leaving my city (and most likely my state as well) in a couple years, so I'm not concerned about who gets elected. With Governor-for-life Terry Branstad in office its not like it matters anyways.
I'm stealing that phrase. Perfect.
