I didn't hear it before but apparently bron bron blocked a dunk curry was pulling during a deadball?

he's about to get in curry's head in game 4 brehs, if he hasn't already lol

The Cavs got spotted 20 in the first. They had some of the worst moving screens in the 1st quarter that I have ever seen. They got there let them play game from the refs. All that play physical will result in alot more fouls in game 4.

last time somebody tried to get into currys head he scored 15 points in 2 minutes.

durant stepped accidently stepped on him, but gave him a little extra shove.

Rigged 4 sure, can't believe NBA sold out to Tacobell

The finals would've been lame if it was completely one sided. Glad the Cavs got their shit together. Curry... you get your shit together

Kevin Love has the potential to give you 20 points and 10 rebounds in a good game at the very least. Jefferson is too old to be playing heavy minutes and his maximum upside potential is pretty much what you saw tonight. He had the lowest +- of all the starters by far.

He does just not in this series. RJ is at least bringing more this series as a whole. Like I said bring in Love off the bench and nothing more than that.

The whole team was getting fucking destroyed in games 1 and 2, your sample size is too small. Look at Irving, he was just as bad as Love and now he's nailing threes all night.

He also has the potential to be responsible for multiple open 3s on the other end. He would be more effective off the bench with RJ and Lebron starting at 3 and 4, respectively.

Still blows my mind that Danny Green turned out to be such a good player. Dude was absolutely useless on the Cavs.

really nice article on how danny begged pop for a second chance and turned things around

Kobe was injured his first finals and still lead the team to an overtime win against the Pacers.

Even bracketing potential injury years (Steph 2016, Kobe 2000), Steph's one indisputably fully healthy Finals in his first 2 years there (2015) was actually better than Kobe's (2001). There simply is no solid argument that Kobe is more "clutch" than Steph based on any real evidence beyond the vagaries of reputation, which are largely manufactured by idiots like Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith. This is also, of course, ignoring the absurdity that the Finals produce the only clutch situations in basketball.

I'm glad the Cavs were able to win 1 game, but this it's worthless if they don't win on friday. Until then I'm putting this down as fake hustle.

Kobe was barely of the legal age to drink alcohol during his first finals, nor was he the "unanimous" MVP.

FoH.

GSW's starters were -15 in 9 minutes tonight. Wow. Really hope Kerr switches it up eventually.

Kobe in clutch time has always been wildly overstated. One of many myths that have somehow endured with NBA fans.

He wasn't the unanimous MVP because he never had a year as good as Steph's 2016. Not sure how this is relevant beyond reaffirming that Steph's peak is actually better than Kobe's peak. Granted, Kobe was young in 2000 and 2001, but what was the excuse in, I dunno, 2008? By every metric, Stephen Curry is a better clutch player than Kobe Bryant. It's not even close.

I would be willing to entertain the "they lost on purpose to win at oracle" if this was game 4 and they were up 3-0. Just stupid to do that in game 3. Stupid no matter what actually, but even more stupid.

He modeled his demeanor after Jordan, so Kobe=Jordan. That's really the only thing I can come up with. As someone who has actively rooted against the Lakers my entire life, you always wanted Kobe taking the last shot in the final seconds.

Except on the road, in Game 3 of the playoffs.

Cavs need to win the next 3, because a game 7 win at Golden State would be improbable. Hard to imagine it happening, but we shall see.

You don't remember the 2004 Finals. Check Kobe's stat line.

Oh remember it quite well. Pretty sure Kobe didn't make a habit of disappearing in swing Game 3s throughout the playoffs like Steph da Gawd has this season.

Case in point, his last Finals Game 3 was a must win that saved the series, on the road, in Baaaaw-ston. Check his stat line for that one, friend.

The team that only recently lost two games in a row for the first time in two years is going to lose 4 games in a row? There's probably a reason why ESPN BPI gives them a 15% chance and 538 gives them a 20 something percent chance.

It's amazing how the pendulum swings. GSW blow out the Cavs for the first 2 games and it's sweep talk. Cavs serve up a blowout of their own and suddenly they have figured out the Warriors.

Fucking Finals brings out the over reaction crowd like none other.

Game 3 on the road in Detroit in 2004 (series 1-1) was actually the definition of a swing game. And Kobe disappeared. 4 FG's, 4 TO's.

Also, the definition of clutch has now been reduced to Game 3 of the Finals on the road (so long as we are excluding certain Finals that are inconvenient for our argument). These are the kinds of straws one grasps at when the numbers are overwhelmingly against an ingrained mythology.

I'm not very good with camera stuff, but how is a shot like this possible? I mean...where are the lights?! Is there an even higher quality of this out there because goddamn it's a great shot

There are strobe flashes above the baskets. They're remotely triggered by the pro photographers' cameras. They overpower the arena lights. This pic was probably taken by a fan who clicked the shutter at the same moment as a pro on the floor.

I literally said in the post you responded to that Kobe didn't make it a HABIT to disappearing in Game 3s of playoffs series and especially not in the same year. Steph had a slow start in last year's Finals as well. He came on in he later games as he likely will here but it is not surprising why he isn't in the discussion for FMVP, yet again.

Nike should buy the shit out of this photo.

It's a great photo that becomes legendary if they can seal the deal. If not, it's just a great photo.

My response was generally more dickish than I intended it to be. My bad. However, at the very least, I think the sample size/parameters are simply too small and too arbitrary to conclude that Kobe>Steph in this. I am actively rooting against Golden St., but Steph with the ball in his hands at the end of a game is the single most terrifying thing I've seen since Robert Horry back in the day.

I'm just happy I can watch SportsCenter for a day or two. Shits been hard fam.

And those flashes don't affect the players?

Was sure that the Cavs will win the first game at home, but was expecting it to be a close one. Suprising result, haven't seen the game yet myself. Still believe that GS will bounce back and take game 4.

But about that unanimous MVP:

Game 1: 11 points, 6 assists
Game 2: 18/4
Game 3: 19/3

Also 15 turnovers in 3 games. I know GS had an incredible season and one could debate on and on about the quality of play in the league in general, but if you give a unanimous MVP for the first time ever for a player, you would think that one player would be so crucial to the teams success. And he isn't.

That team is stacked from top to bottom, and Thompson has been much, much better during these playoffs. Curry is a great player, but the hype has surpassed the talent long long time ago. When GS has to face a really good team repeatedly, Curry's consistency is nowhere near regular season levels.

Klay on Mozgov screen: "It made no sense to me ... I'm just confused why he's setting a screen in middle of the key ... Seemed kinda dirty"

This is absolutely ridiculous. The Warriors set picks and screens all over the damn court. Kay tried running through a pick set by a dumbo giant and it didn't work out.

Lol Klay. I didnt know there were places you couldnt set picks. Dumbass, pay attention if you dont wanna get rocked.

It's more like klay was following on the drive, and mozgov slid across way too late to set a pick. It's an offensive foul, unfortunately klay caught a knee to the thigh on it.
