Steph Curry released some ugly shoes and people are ruthlessly mocking them on Twitter

"Kia Sorrento, But For Feet" may be the best thing I've ever read.

You don't drop poor kicks during the finals.

Team Cavs

What are the chances that both Curry and Klay remain cold the entire friggin' series? I feel like one of them (if not both) should be due for one of those videogame-like performances tonight.

I think it's pretty likely honestly, I think they're going to need their bench to perform at home for the entire series.

People keep saying they're due, but they've looked too poor for too long.

Lmao. They were joking on The Jump about Lebron following Rachel Nichols and not Brian Windhorst on twitter and Windhorst said he's "sliding into her DM's" and Rachel got kinda pissed. So random.

I would if I were Lebron tbh

<3 Rachel
Brian jelly af

Cavs got home court advantage, tonight and game 6 , if they somehow win tonight and game 5 , welp
my dumbass hot take of the day

Klay has no excuse for being cold, JR is guarding him

I wouldn't bet that they'll be cold the entirety of the series but curry seems to be in one helluva slump. I'm skeptical he'll find his rhythm on the road.

Yeah, there's always variance in shooting. Curry was having an awful series against OKC then lit it up the last three games. I don't think there's any guarantee they start bombing 3's, but it could end at any time.

I also give some credit to Cleveland. Don't think it's 100% a slump. They've kept his overall # of attempts down, which is often a more telling sign of good defense than field goal percentage.

The only thing I want to see is whether, assuming the Warriors win, Lebron will have yet another Finals MVP stolen from him.
He hasn't been that impressive in all 3 games.

He had a big second half in game 3 but it was the role players on the Cavs that made it a rout. Similar to what happened with the Warriors in GS. There is no obvious MVP candidate so far in this series.

Kerr is going to make an adjustment on offense to how the Cavs are aggressively chasing Curry and Klay off the 3 point line. I expect them to start penetrating more while continuing to move the ball on offense. And as the Cavs discovered the midrange is always going to be available. I wonder if Steph starts taking what the defense is giving him and going for the midrange jumpers to loosen up the D.

As with everything it comes down to execution. Will Cleveland stay disciplined on defense for the entire game like they did in game 3 or are they going to take possessions off and fuck up like they did in game 1 and 2. I think that is the series in a nutshell. If Cleveland is going to win they have to defense like champs for all 48 minutes. They also need a lead. It is almost impossible to beat GS once they open up a lead on you.

LeBron has moved the bar so high that stats like those are unimpressive. Guy averaged 36, 13 and 8 in the finals last year.

I don't think he's playing to his peak, but the pressure on LeBron in any given game is so much higher than anyone on the floor.

It is if you're still more valuable than anyone on the team who won.

Nah.

You can make a case for giving the regular season MVP to a player on a shitty team, but the Finals MVP should never go to a player on the losing team. It doesn't make any sense. It should go to the player that most helped his team win.

It doesn't necessarily have to go to a player whose stats jump off the page, you can put up modest numbers and still be a huge contributor.

I honestly have no idea what to expect from tonight's game.

In the WCF, I expected GS to bounce back from game 3 and they got destroyed. Then I expected them to lose the series and they won 3 straight.

There being a 60 point swing between games 2 and 3 is still difficult to comprehend.

People on this losing effort MVP again? For the 2nd year in a row? When he hasn't even played all that well?
I'm assuming some of these posts are bait.

Game 1 Bron was 9-21 with 4 turnovers in a 15 point loss. Game 2 he was 7 for 17 with 7 turnovers in a 33 point loss. Stahp people.

It's amazing how forgiving people are of his trash numbers as soon as he dunks a few alley-oops for the peanut gallery.

Iguadala was better than him in games 1 and 2 tho

And Kyrie was better in G3. LeBron was lousy in the first half and only got hot when it was already a blow out. Congrats? He starting something like 5-15 with tons of missed layups whereas Kyrie was fire.

He also had 12 rebounds, 9 Asts in game one.

He had 8 rebound 9 assists, 4 steals in game two.

stop trying to change the narrative but just focusing on one part of his game and not his whole game.

and losing is a team thing, he can only do his part whole team has to step up. The Warriors two wins were Team wins.

So by that argument shouldn't we be looking at his defensive performance in games 1 and 2 when he was garbage? Just watch the BBall Breakdown of game 2. He was completely lost on multiple defensive possessions which cost them big time.

LeBron was, at best, a mediocre defender in Oakland. He hadn't been that good this series.

Game 4 in Portland?

I'm fully aware that if there's anyone who can provide you with a quick explosive contribution out of nowhere it's curry

What made his return in Portland so awesome was that no one had any real clear expectations on when/how/if he was going to look like his former self.

Then they face OKC and in the tail end of that series had to really buckle down and make adjustments that they probably never had to deal with in the past.

Because of this i got a strong sense that the starters in game 1 against the cavs were still in OKC mode, especially with the short turn around time between the end of OKC and the beginning of this series, which is why they played so poorly and the bench was able to captialize on their normal game style.

And although i was satisfied with his performance in game 2, curry still under performed by his standards and game 3 he was basically a no show.

Im just poiinting out that his slump seems to be a bit of an anomaly for reasons that aren't clear. Clevland;s defense is good but it aint that good. People want to harken back to last year where curry was virtually a no show for the first few games of the finals but you could atleast make the case that it might have been the nerves of just being in the finals for the first time. I'd expect it to be easier for him to find his rhythm at home especially if they go back to oakland with the series tied and now you have no choice but to protect your home court advantage
