stop trying to change the narrative but just focusing on one part of his game and not his whole game.
Huh? Aren't you doing exactly that? If we're looking at the whole game, then that would include his turnovers, mediocre shooting, poor defense and large margins of defeat, no?

Also not sure what "narrative" you speak of. Lebron didn't play great and the Cavs got demolished. That's literally what happened. If that's a narrative then "Klay Thompson's name begins with a K" or "Matthew Dellavedova was born in Australia" are also narratives.

So by that argument shouldn't we be looking at his defensive performance in games 1 and 2 when he was garbage? Just watch the BBall Breakdown of game 2. He was completely lost on multiple defensive possessions which cost them big time.

How many posessions out of each game was he lost for you to say he was garbage the whole game? Was it more than half of them if not then no guys get beat all the time especially when you are playing one on one defensively vs the warriors man/zone style that protects guys defensively a lot more.

he still had positive asts to turnovers even though they were high.
large margins again. Team not on just one individual player. Everyone has to do their job.
The cavs bench played awful, and still are and that is the biggest factor for them. The warriors have had extremely even scoring from 1 - 7 from guys.
Its not just on lebron. he did pretty good not great. but the hyperbole is hilarious.

You guys act like its lebron vs the warriors. its not. he has played decent and last game played even better.

Best player in game 1 was Iggy, best player in game 2 was Green, best player in game 3 was probably a tie between Lebron/Irving (Irving was the one to that set the tone in the first quarter and let the Cavs jump on the Warriors, but I don't think you could complain between either of them).

He really didn't do "pretty good".

And of course even if he had (he didn't) y'all are talking about him being the second player in the entire history of the NBA to be named finals MVP in a losing effort. The second player EVER to do that. "Pretty good" ain't gonna cut it.

I don't like talking about this, though. There's no guarantee yet that GS wins.

More times than I care to recall. Like I said, watch the video. He was trying to force idiotic switches and lost his man on multiple occasions.

I concur, though there's an argument for Livingston in game 1. They were both great.

You dont know what their game plan was defensively, but what i saw from game 1 and 2 was the warriors doing an insane amount of backside action and movement and poor communication by the cavs as a team.

Also some bad off ball defense, but this video doesnt break down possession by possession from beginning to end.

Also in some of the defensive breakdowns even though they highlighted lebrons action, how do you know what his teammate was supposed to do on a switch?

so if you dont know that you cant 100% say he was so "Awful Defensively" without understand what their assignments needed to be. Some parts he may have put himself in a bad position or the game plan dictated that.

A lot of these video analysis always lack some level of objectivity and dont credit for a lot of unknowns, whereas when the team does a film breakdown they know who messed up every time based on game plan and how they planned to defend pick and rolls and off the ball actions.

Again, the Cavs were trying to play some zone(like the warriors), vs more man to man and I think that killed them alot.

In game 3 they switched a lot defensively and were way more aggressive in playing Their Man and trying to keep with them and minimized switching based on matchups where possible which helped them out way more.

I think his shoes look better with crying Jordan on them. I would cop a pair if they had it on there.

Lebron looked legit old in the first half of game 3 getting shut down on drives, bricking shots and turning it over. He recovered once it was headed towards a blowout and ended up having an effective night but he's definitely beginning to look old, which shouldn't be surprising but is because he has defied expectations for so long.

He's still Lebron and the lack of individual consistency from the stars this series probably leads him to stand out overall, but... He's still starting to look old out there.

Bricking shots is the sign of age? I'm fucked.

I think he just means the explosion wasn't there.

In the first half, I agree. He found his legs at halftime though and was looking as spry as I've seen him in years.

This series is a total mindfuck - I don't understand how a team wins by 48 combined in 2 games and then gets lit up for a 30 point loss the next.

One of the worst seasons of competitive basketball I can remember.

Prediction: Cavs get over confident from that last game and don't play the same level of D.

Lose tonight and the series in the next game.

I didn't even pay attention to game 3 at all, really felt it was over (still do)

I'd rather cavs win though but just can't see it happening.

Anyone got money on cavs today? What's the spread?

Tonight would be a good time for Stephen Curry to go off. He just has not had an explosion against the Spurs dating back to last years finals as well.

Im still trying to wonder if Curry is just choking or hes actually legit injured.

i think it has some to do with getting injured in the playoffs. He is kinda playing hurt. But that really isn't the biggest reason why he's playing like this though.

I think that a lot of it has to do with how the players are guarding him off the ball. If you watch, they really do get away with a lot of contact, pushing, grabbing, slapping Curry when he doesn't have the ball, and that can really take you off your rhythm. If the refs don't call it though, he needs to be able to play through that. It's the finals, gotta learn to adjust!

What I found interesting is I was watching Sportscenter and they brought up some interesting points. The Finals are more like traditional NBA as in more physical, and ref a little differently, they said that what Curry needs to do is to adapt to that. The physicality is different in the playoffs than the regular season.

The Cavs are determined to not let Curry beat them. That's great for Golden State because it means other players will have single (or zero) coverage but everything crumbles if Curry dribbles too much, makes bad choices, and turns the ball over. He can dominate by only scoring 10 points if he's smart and efficient; that should be his goal.

Curry and/or Klay are due to have a good game (since both have been garbage so far for the most part). I'm going with the Warriors.

Sorry I haven't been posting since game 3. I had my wisdom teeth extracted early yesterday....spent all yesterday on painkillers and playing Witcher 3- Blood and Wine.

Let's go Dubs!!

I think (hope) the Warriors will take this one, but it is going to be close and likely come down to the last minute. I don't see Cleveland being able to maintain the pace they had last game nor will GSW be as sloppy.
