Zelda U/NX promo image leaks from Amazon.com

I spotted four towers.

They showed those at The Game Awards, so...dunno what they're for.

What does it meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeean?

What if Ninty only has Zelda for E3 because the game itself is as big as a regular conference?

What if?

WHAT IF???????

Looks great! And I didn't even notice she has a blue tunic. I really hope they stick with that color all through-out the game and don't cop out to green for the final dungeon. Blue all the way

This link looks more an more like a girl with every bit of artwork.

Not seeing it at all. Never saw it in any of the work or ingame images of Zelda U. I think you're seeing what you want to see.

I'd be willing to bed the Bow is going to be a starting item, possibly even before the sword, and most importantly a dedicated weapon, not an interchangeable item like it normally is. But dedicated to something like the Right Bumper same as the sword is mapped to a specific button.

Edit: That could also be supported by the fact that the arrow count in the Game Awards demo was 99, though that could also just be a dev build where they often increase maxes for ease but who knows.

Remember, this is actually the first Zelda game to make a graphical generation jump since The Wind Waker in 2003. Pretty ridiculous but very exciting!

Because it confirms Zelda is now Nintendo's attempt at Assassin's Creed and Uncharted.

The focus on the bow means it will be a TPS now, so more like Uncharted.

The towers = Assassin's Creed/Ubisoft approach to gameplay. Accept it.

This.

If we're being pedantic, of course the act of climbing has been in most if not all Zelda games, as long as it's a ladder or a textured wall. We could still be entirely wrong just based on this image, but it all seems to point out that the focus here will be climbable buildings, rock formations, etc. Again, like Uncharted and AC.

The thing you notice in GAF Nintendo threads is that very few people actually play Nintendo games.

what's a nintendo and where can i get one

Oh fuck it reeally better not take the ubisoft open world route 😭

What's so bad about that?

I want Link to be a guy though. However, there's this:

Gyro/touchpad/dual screen aiming for the bow, with an upgrade line to turn it into a crossbow, then automatic crossbow. Essentially like DOOM 2016

His jawline looks pretty angular here. The face looked masculine in the prior artwork to me too.

The horse art is the only that looks feminine to me since it seems to have a different hair style under the hood and the features aren't as masculine. The in-game model pretty much always looks feminine to me.

What's so bad about that?

Still very much looks like a guy to me. Sure it's a pretty boy look but a boy nonetheless.

Why do we have so many silly climbing comments in here?

You wouldn't be able to beat Ocarina of Time if you didn't climb Death Mountain to get to Goron City.

You won't get the magic meter and spin attack as a child unless you CLIMB to the summit of Death Mountain.

Why are you all acting like climbing mountains is new to Zelda? What does any of this have to do with Uncharted?
Because no game had story, shooting or climbing before Uncharted - duh.

Looks SO good! Ahhh, hype rising!

For a map this HUGE, I expect a return of the Pegasus Boots from ALttP. Imagine sprinting across the countryside!

I don't understand how people can see a girl there... Like for real. That's the same link we all know.

Is uncharted the only gaming series where you climb up on stuff? Cause that's what this thread looks like. Climbing has always been in Zeldh.

Well, no, Uncharted is not. And yes, climbing has been in 3D Zelda before. My interest in improved traversal is not in climbing mechanics, however, which are never (to me) that interesting. I'm more interested in traversal over the ground and how new Zelda will improve that part of the game.

That and combat, which is never very good in any Zelda game IMO.

If those towers indicate an Ubisoft-style map-reveal system, I'm ok with that.

But if this means we'll have a map full of icons and pointless side-objectives, yuck!

I'm confident Nintendo will find a way to put their own unique spin on things.
