Sorry but no swimming means no swimming do not enter the freaking water. I don't know what decade you were born in but 80's and 90's kids know "no swimming" means don't enter the water. Being from a different state is not an excuse, that's even MORE reason to stay away from water with warning signs. If I see a lake I have never been to with a no swimming sign, I'm going the other direction
Not to mention who the hell lets their kid swim in an unknown body of water at night with no lighting?
If no swimming means do not enter the water then what purpose do no wading signs serve? The kid was not swimming in the lake, he was standing in it. We do agree there is a difference between swimming and standing, right?
No swimming and do not enter the water are completely different warnings. You are speaking from a personal assumption standpoint and I'm coming from a legal standpoint.
My job entails workplace safety so that's why I'm talking about what the sign actually means. A warning sign must convey the exact message you wish to give. You cant leave it open to interpretation if you want to be protected legally.
