Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 2016 Thread [*LIVE*] (No childish commentary allowed)

The painting mechanic looks like it plays better than the sticker mechanic. It's still not an RPG but it looks fun.

It helps that they did a fantastic job with the art.

Honestly I feel like I should be more dissapointed but I'm not. This game looks like fun. It just it's realtions to Sticker Star is so strong that I think people will discount it because of it

for me sticker star was too tedious, with all the backtracking and not knowing what stickers were missing to continue progression.

What are the meters for in this game?

If most of the levels are more quest focused like the beach course they just showed, then the game will be better than Sticker Star. I have a feeling it wasn't really representative of the majority of the remaining game though.

Worst part was that they made almost every single character a toad. Probably the most fun part of the first three games was the varied environments and characters that you encountered on your adventures. Here and in Sticker Star you're just stuck with toad, toad and more toad. Hope you like playing find the toad, talk to the toad, help the toad, etc because that's literally all of the character interaction you're gonna get.

Yeah, that sounds a bit weak.

People have expressed many times what was bad about Sticker Star in this thread alone if you read the last page or two..

Well, that's what happens when you try to cook dinner, watch a stream and post on GAF at the same time.

Nothing.

It's a flawed, but pretty great, action adventure that happens to have a turn based battle system.

People hate it for the things it "lacks" compared to the first 2 games. It's a good game on it's own right with the best leveldesign in the entire series.

Hmm...interesting. Level design reigns supreme, but a variety in characters seems necessary to keep things fresh.

"Shufflegate: exposed" might be the best joke Treehouse ever localized.

Yup.

Really, to me it seems like they've at least fixed the writing issue in this one. Not so much the abundance of identical Toads and the issue of battles being pointless though.

But it's good enough for me to be interested.

Well if all of the Koopalings are in, at least we'll have varied/funny boss dialogues. I really hope that all of the villages aren't inhabited by just Toads though...

Aaand
The secon demo shows an increased max level for the color bar ;)
And the cutting feature by game pad is good, as the swiping of the cards

Koopalings too!

This game looks so good. I wish they'd do a platforming Mario game in this style. I'm also pretty cool with the Koopa Kids. This series seems like a good place for them.
