Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the most talked about game on social media

Another Fire Rod GIF I saw posted by Chadboban:

And the previous one, since it's buried on the last page:

And check out what ProJared did with it:

I love how the fireball will even bounce across platforms, lol

When throwing a torch at enemies goes horribly wrong:

I love how he gives the first Bokoblin a fire club, and then the other Bokoblin steps in and lights his own club on fire, haha
Every time I check the Zelda threads I see something that blows my mind.

Ho. Lee. SHIT.

This happens when there's hype for things. Deal with it.
This is me dealing with it.
If you read my post again, i said it's probably just E3 hype talking, i still want to point out how it is hyperbole, if you're going to make a 40 lines post about how everyone else is getting it wrong but Zelda.

It's a forum, people exchange opinions, deal with it.

This has nothing to do with Dark Souls. It's just you having a negative reaction and somehow equating Zelda fanbase to Dark Souls fanbase, as if we've got Git Gud t-shirts or something when, if you've been following nerd hobbies for a while, you should already be quite used to "_______ saved" type hyperbole. Pro-tip: it's usually done tongue in cheek and almost always taken as a joke.
With Dark souls it shares the obnoxious hyperbolic levels of praise, but it was just an example.

Also, i'm not really a "Zelda hater", you can go check and it has been in my top 5 most anticipated games ever since it was announced.
I've been burned out a bit by the latest showing, because i think the visuals aren't impressive, and i didn't like the format they decided to show it in (5 hours play through), but otherwise, i'm far from a hater.

I love all of the new enemy designs so far. The red and blue Bokoblins, the one-eyed Keese, the jellylike Chuchus, the Stalfos that will reassemble themselves with each other's body parts, etc.

The Guardians are instantly iconic — fucking terrifying in the ground, so I can only imagine how intense they'll be on the run.

Can't wait to see a boss and, of course, CALAMITY GANON.

So..... the fire rods shoots bouncing fire balls that go pretty far, and the fire creates heat waves, and the heat waves make the paraglider rise....

Infinite paragliding.
You know how Aonuma said you can go straight for the final boss if you're clever enough and skillful enough?

Maybe you can create like a 10-mile runway of PURE FIRE and then catapult off Epona and use the parasail to catch the draft from the smoke and just fly all the way into Hyrule Castle

Like this but with a long trail from the Fire Rod:

Yes. I hope this is the kind of stuff Aonuma is implying when he says you can beat the game without getting through everything. Like, you can get there, but you can't just walk through the front door. It'll require ingenuity and skill. That along with the enemies hitting like trucks and your weapons having a good chance of breaking, it should be really interesting to see what lengths people may have to go through to beat the game early.

You mean the E3 that introduced Splatoon to the world and was likely instrumental in making it one of the most successful new IPs Nintendo has had despite being released on a stillborn system?

Exactly it might've been good for Splatoon, but overall for Nintendo it didn't do much and even if this does much for Nintendo and the upcoming Zelda(which I doubt) it shows that there's absolute no need to pull a big show on it, just show up and show the goodies.

Neiteio, weren't you kind of down on this at first? What changed your mind?

This game seems like a fucking game. I mean, you can theoretically go to the final boss right off the bat? I'm sure there's more to it and it could be super hard if you so choose, but this sounds like a really insane speedrun game. I think the speedruns are going to be patently absurd.

Oh wow, have you guys seen the Fire Rod?

GOODNESS GRACIOUS, GREAT (BOUNCING) BALLS OF FIRE

ProJared started a brushfire with them fueled by the wind:

Something I've wanted Zelda to fix for a while now is not finding valuable secrets in random chests in the overworld beyond just pieces of heart.

Now you can find shit like bows, fire rods, and who knows what else in random chests from the very first area of the game. Good shit.

In this day and age of bots, I pretty much don't give a shit about these things.

Resident Evil is pretty much the PT experiment of this year and should be getting way more social media hits than that graph indicates.

I've been fucking pumped since the new trailer. I was just skeptical before E3 because I didn't care for recent 3D Zeldas. I loved ALBW, and the remakes have been great, but the last console 3D Zelda I fully enjoyed was The Wind Waker, and even that game had its issues (most notably the dull dungeons).

Then E3 2016 rolls around, and Breath of the Wild turns out to be incredible on all levels. The sheer amount of creativity and interactivity and detail is pure gaming bliss.

This game has rocketed to the top of my Most Wanted list.

Glad to see Neiteio aboard the Zelda hype train. Guy got good taste in my book.

I just realized something.

I've had more fun watching Treehouse Live footage of Zelda than I did playing through the entirety of Uncharted 4.

I'm not even bothering with footage. I'm gonna play it regardless. Too much negativity and over analysis from the hardcore Zelda crowd.

I mean, you're gonna play it too, why punish yourself?

It's been mostly positive, which is rather surprising.

Wait. What negativity? Everyone seems to be loving it.

You'll be happy to know that everyone loves the new Zelda.

That's an amazing idea

Oh imagine the game will be full of options like that. How about being chased by enemies on horseback, shooting a bomb arrow at a tree, knocking the tree over, using stasis to freeze in mid fall, riding under it on your horse, the undoing stasis and then it falls on the enemies chasing you. (god I hope rune abilities can be used on the horse)

I wonder if you can use the fire rod while gliding or catapulting off the horse for aerial bombing raids?

Odds are you'll be able to use anything after launching off the horse. In that gif we can see they use the glider before shooting the bow, so you should be able to perform any action.

But you'll probably have to drop the glider to use stuff. But that shouldn't mess anything up. Just let go from high enough so you have time to use the item, then glide again. Let go. Item. Glide. Repeat.

Neiteio, I look forward to your comprehensive boot guide once the game comes out. Hopefully, Lucina amiibos will provide hers, but that may be asking too much.

So there's also lightning bolts to worry about. Wonder if theres a way to manipulate them to purposely hit your enemies.

Yeah, Aonuma specifically said during lightning storms holding metal objects on high open places can increase your chances of getting struck. And that you could either use the rune or throw metal at enemies (and trick them into picking them up) to get them struck too

So there's also lightning bolts to worry about. Wonder if theres a way to manipulate them to purposely hit your enemies.

I haven't seen any videos of it, but I've heard that lightning will hit metallic objects, so you should be able to create scenarios to hit enemies with lightning.

I saw something about metal weapons attracting lightning, so you can throw your weapons at enemies to try and get the lightning to strike them instead. I assume this means you'll get some sort of warning as lightning approaches so you aren't just throwing all your weapons at them hoping something happens but we'll see.
