I felt like that during the end credits fight, it should have played KOBU as Ryu has now mastered the power of nothingness, maybe even during the Bison fight too
Ono once said that they are considering more story content past season 1 but nothing concrete. They did confirm that their would be more content of some sorts past season 1, I think that was during a shareholder thing.I've only seen a bit of the story but I kind of like thetheyre giving Juri and Cammy (unless theres more I didnt see yet)...light shippingis the story mode not up for ps4 yet? I have a menu option but its grayed out.nvm found the answer. What an oversight capcom made there...
Does anyone think they do more story mode with season 2 dlc? (Extra chapters?)
I don't think general public is interested in a SFV compilation. The ship has sailed. When they have plans that reach further into the future than that, they won't just shut down and make another fighting game. Since they admitted that a compilation disc can happen now they can prettend a new release came out and the general public and and the average game reviewers wouldn't know the difference.
I was real disappointed how goofy most of the characters were especially Laura. Didn't expect her to be so damn crazy.
Really? Really? Of every single character in the game, Laura would be the one most people *should* expect to be absolutely insane. Until now, had you not played her Character Story, read her win/lose quotes or listened to what she says in battle? I'd expect the character who says stuff like "I'll squeeze and zap zap!" during combat to be off her rocker.
Why are people saying that Ryu's win was undeserved? This is the sequel to SF1, SFA2, SFA3, SF2 and SF4. The Satsui has been a constant thing for him (retconned into SF1). It's his motivation for training in SF2, to overcome it. We know he did by SF3, and now we know how. By staying out of the story until the last minute, to focus on his training.
Cause having a character complete their arc offscreen and away from the plot doesn't make for a very entertaining viewing experience.
Well, how would they have done it? It's been established that Ryu mostly practices alone. "Meanwhile, back at the waterfall..." *Ryu punching at water* *loading screen* *back to the actual story*
It doesn't make for the most entertaining story, but it's true to the character. Better that than making up some power of friendship thing to make him realize his potential, or having Gouken around once more. Oh, and he did seek out Dhalsim for advice before finishing his training.
The lack of any sort of main character in the story only solidifies how disjointed the entire experience is. The closest thing we have to a main character is Karin, but instead, the game makes it a toss up between Nash, Rashid, and Ryu.
Man, why is telling a simple story so hard these days? They don't need to shove every character in the game and give them all crappy story arcs.
Ryu shouldn't have even been in this story. He has nothing to do with what is actually going on. Save whatever bullshit he is up to for Street Fighter 6 or some spinoff.
well, daily challenges are supposed to be our repeatable source of FM and they keep being pushed back. That said, just run the character stories and you'll get a nice chunk. Trials and easy survival for the rest of what's easily attainable for now.
Between story, trials and survival you can actually make back a big chunk of what you spend on a character.
To earn money through trials do you have to complete all of them for each character? I hoped it would be individually, eg 1000 for challenge #1, #2 etc
Nothing happens when I finish just one or two. Doing them all is impossible
Yeah it only made sense if you have the context. They needed a Rocky training montage with Ryu or somethingWhy are people saying that Ryu's win was undeserved? Loved this story mode! It was a little too easy but at least there's a hard mode unlocked after the first playthrough. And omg I can't wait for Urien & Juri!!
yes because having the goddam main character not show up at all makes sense.
the whole point of these things is to have every character show up, do a thing and make their fans happy. It didn't fully do that here (Alex get gipped. Chun jobs throughout.) but the idea is there. So yes most characters will be randomly crammed in...but that is the whole idea behind FG stories.

You must be playing on PS4 or a really outdated PC. Load times are nonexistant for me to the point that I was unsure if the scenes were pre-rendered or not. Totally different scenes and sets of characters were loading up back to back in a matter of seconds. I am impressed.Story mode was such a let down. MK story mode is miles better.
1 round matches are too short on SF, long loading times, bad graphics (that clipping!) and the story didn't made any sense.

Yeah, I don't get the loading time complaint. They were super short for me (on a kinda old PC)
WTF Nash's and Marz's sacrifices were for naught.
I dont know if its been mentioned already, but... Lauras story costume (bonita) was replaced with a regular bikini, was this known? Did they mention they were going to change it?
Bison really need to have his battle damage costume after Nash sacrifice. It's such an easy thing to fix. I have no idea why they didn't do it.

PS4 version has frame rate issues and more input lags during gameplay for the new story mode. Disappointed in the quality of the performance...
