Steam Summer Sale 2016 |OT| It's better than nothing

I decided to go full PC (barring Sony exclusives) and sold all of my PS3/360/PS4/XB1 games with PC versions thanks to the Steam sale.

I do miss the daily specials but it's also nice not to miss out on something with the deals lasting all week.

Now I'm just waiting on the new Xbox One S Bluetooth controller. I wish we could get a firm release date.

So if I don't have mobile auth. I can still sell but everything is held 15 days until it gets to market. But I don't have to confirm anything via mobile?

This seems like the better deal if you are not chasing new releases.

I believe the sale cards expire, though.

Not so sure about that. 15 days makes it hard to account for price fluctuations for market items.

It depends on how quickly you'd like to get rid of an item, essentially. I'm for the undersell by 1c crowd, and waiting 15 days could jeopardize that, for example.

And ^ alr1ght is r1ght.

Would anyone recommend The Flame in Floods? It's on sale right now, but I'm currently trying to clear my backlog. Looks really interesting for a survival rogue like. I've spent a good amount of time with Don't Starve on the PS4.

Deadbreed Undertaker Pack -- MB-44289662D6ABB1D4 - Taken by krczt23

I have a new PC, which is my first gaming PC in a while, so I'm trying to figure out what games I need to keep myself occupied.

So far I've grabbed:
SOMA
Firewatch
Alien: Isolation
Deus Ex: HR
Total War: Warhammer

I guess those are a small indication of what I'm interested in, but I'm also curious about memorable experiences that I haven't been able to have considering I was gaming with just a Macbook that could barely run things for the longest time.

So, any more suggestions of what to grab while the sale is still on?

I've spent over £50 on this summer sale. All on VR titles. :)

Fianlly got Sublevel Zero, the rogue-like Decent. Looks like there's been some updates and the 6 degrees of freedom stuff feels amazing.

There's apparently a VR mode as well, I'd imagine it's either amazing or vomit comet.

I only bought Ryse so far and ended up enjoying it a whole lot more than I expected based on what people were saying about it at launch. It's a simple but rewarding combast system (at least on the highest difficulty). The execution animations are good, but I fear they'll become too repetetive further into the game.

I'm not sure if I'll pick up anything else for this sale. I have 100 NOK (around 12 USD) in my Steam wallet from selling cards and might buy something like Stardew Valley since it will run on my low spec laptop when I'm going back home for the summer.

I gemed or badged the sale cards.

I was thinking about the regular cards. I don't really buy new games so they are fairly stable in price.

Last day of the sale means I finally get to buy things.

Undertale
Luftrausers
Crimzon Clover Arranged OST
Shmuper's Bundle (Revolution Ace & Particle Mace)
Bleed
Pony Island
Jets'n'Guns Gold

Only paid $3.96; the remaining $12.73 came from accumulated trading card sales. Whoo.

Finished it last night in one sitting, first time I've done that with a game for about 4 years. It was excellent. Especially for $4.99!

Weird FPS drops regardless of setting changes in a fair few spots on my rig which I suspect is my 3570K starting to show its age, might need to finally look into overclocking.

The game really needs a photo mode though. Going into the console to turn the HUD off is not ideal.

So has it been determined whether you need the Minerva DLC in order to receive the remastered version of Bioshock 2 with all the DLC? Because that DLC is more expensive than the whole Bioshock 2 for me and I don't want to spend that money on it if I don't have to.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably short, non-violent indie game for $5 or less?

I feel guilty only picking up DS3 (due to it being AAA - therefore FROM probably not needing my purchase) so I would like to be able to buy something that would likely help someone too.

I've already got Undertale (from the Winter Seal) but I haven't played many indies recently. I know it's a dumb reason but eh. Recommendations would be very welcome :)

Stasis, since it seems you're a sci-fi horror fan. It and Soma were the sci-fi horror games of 2015 IMO

Devs say game won't be discounted again for a while

Deadnaut captures that "derelict vessel where unknown horrors lurk" atmosphere as well

Duskers is also fantastic, but only 15% off

Brothers a tale of two sons (don't know if its exactly indie)
To the Moon
Her story (for a very experimental but cool game)

Cibele.

Managed to pick up Punch Club by selling off the rest of my summer cards. Overall, the golden age of Steam sales are over. It will never be the same.

I started to get some serious drops as well when I started the second level that I think is cpu related. I'm not sure if it's actually the cpu, or if it's the game's way of using it since I found a possible fix from pcgamingwiki to add a line in one of the config files. I haven't tested the game after adding that yet.

Hmh what to play next now that I'm done with Blood & Wine for Witcher 3. Thinking about going in for the expansions for Fallout 4 or maybe Shadowrun Hong Kong.

Isn't most of the Fallout DLC just settlement cosmetic stuff? Apart from Far Harbor of course.

I still can't figure out if I liked Fallout 4 or not... Finished the game though.

Are the DLCs worth getting guys?

Play Dishonored!

Ah. Good to know of a possible fix but now that I've finished it there's not much point! Great game though and its a shame there's unlikely to be a further developed sequel due to Crytek/Sony issues.

Far Harbor is worth it, the rest not so much, mechanist if you can get it for very cheap

I would definitely start with Isolation, absolutely brilliant game that runs well on everything.

What are your specs?

I assume you've played games like Borderlands 2 and Red Faction Guerrilla before?

Welp, chronomac already had it...and I don't think I can send it to myself for another 24 hours.

So if you want episodes 1 and 2 of the Dream Machine, add me on Steam and let's get this done.

Edit: My steam info is now in my profile...I figure that might help.

Second edit: Okay, we've got a recipient. Thanks, everyone.

Well I am done.. my haul for this sale:

The Aquatic Adventures of the Last Human
Ghost
System Shock Enhanced
Cladun X2
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger
Total Annihilation
Oxenfree
Creeper World 2: Arc Eternal
Windward
STASIS
Postal
Postal 2 + Paradise Lost
35MM

And some 8 cent bundle with 4 games whose names escape me at the moment.

Sale was pretty tame here.

Shadow of Mordor
LEGO Jurassic
Hacknet
Flywrench

Almost bought SOMA but I probably won't even play it until the next price drop/sale.
