Max Payne 2 aged like fine wine. The textures are top notch and the gameplay is still pretty damn good. From hit reaction, to physics, to movement, to level design. Plus, you can actually skip the cutscenes, unlike Max Payne 3.

I have the Steam version and I have never seen the Rockstar Social Club. There is a small popup in the corner for 2 seconds when you launch the game and that's it.

Oh I didn't mention it, but I got Strife: Veteran Edition. Back then I didn't really know about the game and in 96 it was all about Duke 3D and Quake depending on your hardware. Strife is actually quite interesting. Really ambitious, especially considering it running on Doom tech. I am enjoying it.

Max Payne 2 is 5hrs short and easy (the main complaints around release), there's literally no excuse. 1 is great too but more difficult and harder to get into.

1 has the best final encounter of any of the MP games though. Surprisingly reserved and reasonable compared to the others
The firs tone wasn't very long either. Playing Max Payne 2 on a higher difficulty is something I'd recommend though.

Err, a weird thing just happened. I was using Idle Master (just recently found out about it) and it is currently grinding away on Team Fortress 2. I've had TF2 in my library since getting the Orange Box back in 2007, but I've never once played it (no interest).
All of a sudden I have a bunch of TF2 items (not cards) in my inventory, some of them going for ~5 on the market. I read up on them on the official Wiki and some are granted as pre-order bonuses for other games. Bill's Hat for example, is a preorder for Left 4 Dead 2... a game I bought at a Steam sale a few years ago. From what I can tell, I'm not actually entitled to all of these items.
Will I get VAC banned? Will I get terrorized by Russian hat barons? And how can there be thousands of TF2 items going for >5 every single day?!

This is normal. TF2 "launching" for the first time after making these pre-orders will give you the items - a lot of people use programs like Idle Master or SAM to fake-launch the game in order to get their items without having to download the whole game.
Congrats on your new-found Steam wealth.

It took me 2 minutes to sign up, cancel, and get the game I want. I don't see how it wasn't worth the very little hassle
