On release it also preformed so extremely poorly on PC that I still don't trust it to not crash in the middle of playing.

I havent even played TEW yet and I know this isn't correct.
I really want to enjoy TEW but it's more frustrating than enjoyable. The premise and gameplay should excite me because it's a true survival horror game with stealth and avoidance of enemies.
Actually all this statement really makes clear is that you have a preconceived bias against TEW
frustrating how? there are some parts that have seemed difficult so far but nothing I couldn't get past through better planning.. you gotta take things slow and be methodical

Evil within is one of the few games i gave up on. Got to ch.5 amd quit. The vibe/atmosphere is coo but story/main character was doodoo. Game was boring to me. I really wanted to like it too. Mikami broke mi corazon

It definitely feels like we haven't gotten much news from Capcom/Sega, but maybe this year is just moving slow as hell, because dragon's dogma came out just several months ago and it felt like eternity.
Sega is slow tho, looks like we're getting 1 port per year, VC came out in 2014 and a year later we got a sonic game, I wonder what they'll release this November.
Yet another Sonic game that nobody asked for.

so, played way of the samurai 3 for about 2 hours and, hmm... it's pretty strange
it definitely feels like most of the elements of way of the samurai 1 are still here, the lone samurai dealing with a small village's conflict between warring factions, the sword collecting, the totally anime main characters, the goofy japanese grunt speech, the general jankiness, it's all rushing back to me in a pretty enjoyable way
not sure if much's evolved in these two entries, tho, if anything. while wots1 had like that 3 day act structure that kind of felt like things were moving forward, i'm not really sure what i'm supposed to do here so i've been just doing general trash quests around town (find some old lady's underwear is the first interaction you have with this game's quest system...) to see if that takes me around the different areas and i stumble upon a cutscene or an interesting situation. this has for the most part worked out but i don't get the sense of presence or urgency that i got out of wots1 back in the day
i'm liking it so far, but it's weird. it's a pretty bad port as far as like menu options and like jaggies everywhere and 30 fps (this game would be so much better at 60 fps) and like not being able to freaking load a previous save without suiciding or restarting the damn game but i'm hoping the story will pick up and i'll get to do some cool samurai shit
also idk why but that psycho samurai walking around with the crazy samurai hat mask things creep the fuck out of me. specially at night i hate seeing them lol

I'm so hyped for BundleStars (ノ^_^)ノFinished the second act of Broken Age. While act 1 was easy as pie, the second act goes completely in the other direction and becomes frustratingly difficult. I read some complaints about that knot puzzle, but I didn't think that was too bad. Getting
was something I didn't see, then the final section was just infuriating
I'm glad to be done with it. It's a throwback to the classic adventures, but also for the more frustrating parts unfortunately.

when you had to rewire the robots multiple times. I actually had to repeat the entire process because somehow the power went out again, and I had to flip the switch + do the rewiring all over again for both characters.

insani was truly the best visual novel fan-translator back then. You might also want to check out some of their other works which are mostly interesting and, if nothing else, short and free.

I know that this one is hard to swallow and RE4 is one of my favorite games ever (I even own like 6 copies of it on different platforms) but TEW pretty much takes everything that was great in RE4 and refines it plus ups the horror to 12.
Sure there are some misses (like the difficulty level being all over the place every now and then and the story that doesn't go anywhere until the DLCs) but you know what, so did RE4. The village section is one of the most brilliant sections in any video game ever, but people mostly seem to forget that there are more dull locations later that end up being just a bit frustrating. Not to mention there's (albeit quite good for it's kind) escort missions too. And the story is ridiculous to boot.

Yeah, it took me a long time to realize how you actually progress time and plot in WotS3. I ended up doing a lot of quests I didn't really have to. Progress is done by
going to those marks on the map and starting scenes. After a certain number of them, certain set plot points happen. Depending on which of them you do, you're traveling down alternate paths and unlocking different scenes.
Sadly, you can't do anything about the frame rate. It's a Gamebryo engine game and physics and time are probably tied to the framerate. You can however get rid of the jaggies pretty easily with downsampling. I just used the custom desktop size method rather than Gedosato or NVIDIA inspector.
Oh, and choosing "Leave the area" or whatever it is on the map is how you get back to the main menu screen if that's not already what you're doing.

I never took the story in the RE series too seriously and I think you're supposed to do the same with TEW. The basic setup is kinda like that of the first RE, a game we can all agree on that it doesn't have exactly stellar writing but can still be enjoyed on the basis of how cheesy it can get.
You know how opinions are, but I'm firmly in the camp of those who think TEW is a far better game. They may actually not be that similar after all, given how I never liked RE4 that much (I far prefer the classic RE games) while I loved TEW.
