He's only talking about frame-rate not IQ SHUT UP DONT RUIN THE DREAM.

If the resolution isn't changing from those then I don't have a lot of faith they'll make it look good because the image quality at E3 was frankly poor. Shame they probably won't make a constant 1080p on PS4 like The Witcher 3 did, if we're going to compare large games.

RIP image quality dreams.

Well before that he says he doesn't know how far they will end up pushing each console version so the final build can still show more improvements over the Titan demo. IQ will mostly depend on their AA quality anyway which isn't taken into consideration in his comments on resolution and fps specs.

Tabata said that they had technical limitations by the consoles, because he had bigger plans for certain areas,
and that he would add new features to the pc version in the future.

That sounds pretty shitty though. :/ I don't recall any open-world game that was really that impaired on consoles as opposed to the PC version that certain features just weren't possible at all there.

*sigh* I really wished they would at least step back from that ugly sharpening filter in an attempt to make the image clearer. Duscae's image was a bit soft and blurry, still that imo looked better than the razor sharp edges in recent demos.

We'll see. We're about 2 months out and they're still hesitant to show console version screenshots/footage outside that demo area.

Yeah FFXV can't even hit 1080p with a stable framerate and its world is empty as heck unlike game of the generation The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt available for PS4, X1 (and PC from Day One, not with a year late port) which has a good resolution spec and also its overworld is filled with things to discover.

Have anyone mentioned that the main characters in this game look like some emo band? I would be embarrased if someone caught me playing One Direction: The Game lol That Cindy character is good though. Guess I'l wait for World of Final Fantasy which looks miles better than this. Gosh I miss Nomura.

That sums it up pretty nicely, well done.

I have hope that it'll be better. I don't know if you experienced anything different than I did, but at the very least their TVs at their booth were atrocious. I saw the Xbox version running at the MS booth and it wasn't as bad.

After how many months/patches? Honest question. I played it for the first time this year on my laptop and it ran pretty smooth and looked good on my rather small 720p TV from a few feet away at least, which I'm happy to be playing FFXV on because it has natural, free 16xAA for me basically :D

This reads like one big meme but I can't tell anymore

There's a whole lot of variables in this. How often will the res drop from 1080p? If it's 1080p the majority of the time and manages to maintain as stable a framerate as the Titan demo then the drop in resolution during intensive segments is absolutely worth it. Witcher 3 on console has some pretty notable framerate dips.

Doom doesn't have a constant 1080p but it remains at that resolution for the majority of the time and I doubt anyone actually notices when it does drop in resolution to keep its framerate.

And a 900p game with good AA can still look good. The majority of the image quality problems in XV is due to its AA, not res. We've seen improvements to their temporal AA so it's just a matter of whether or not the final build can keep it up now.

Final Fantasy XV may be a good game, but it won't be a good Witcher game.

Must be PCs hidden within.

I agree with benzy, I think that the game would look miles better with decent AA even if it doesn't hit 1080p. The Titan demo at the Paris festival two weeks ago didn't look that bad, it shows that they are still improving the performance at least.

I just want them to get rid of whatever AA they have that is causing those weird blocking artifacts to appear:
You can see around Noctis' neck that the cloth looks almost smudged. Duscae wasn't like this.

Again, we'll see. They're not exactly showing us anything outside of PC dev build stuff that doesn't represent what it'll look like on consoles so I can only judge on what they've been showing compared to the amount of time they have left until launch.

Yo, Kagari! Let us know when you're gonna stream again.

You know if you follow me it should email you when it goes live.

I think it depended on which game? The TVs for KH 2.8, FF12 and Deus Ex seemed fine.

Personally, where monsters and world are concerned, I feel that XV actually does a lot to make up for its technical shortcomings on console. Enemy design is fantastic. Really captured that blend of realism and fantasy that Versus was striving for without taking it to stupid extremes like some of Tabata's less attractive changes to the game did. The locations outside of the dusty and frankly mundane smaller settlements are also strikingly good, Lestallum and Insomnia being particularly impressive to me, and the Astral shard cuts a brilliant figure across Duscae's skyline.

If they aren't able to improve the image quality much more, it'll be disappointing but I'll be able to get through it thanks to that art direction. I can definitely understand why it's so important for the game to back up its art with tech, though. It would be a shame not to show off those assets in the best way possible.

I'm not sure how long it took them to get there, but Witcher 3 sure as hell wasn't stable 30 fps when I played it on PS4 at release. Not even close in some areas and conditions.

Somehow, it's still my GOTG. It's almost as if occasional frame rate drops aren't the sum total of a game's potential value.

I trust absolutely nothing about that 2013 trailer to be honest

Edit:btw called it with the thread discussion lol
Trust the parts where it looked like an unoptimized ps3 game as those were the only parts that were actually playable at that point in time. I feel they may have raised expectations too high in terms of visuals since they showed so many screens, prototypes and demo builds running on pc.

BLASPHEMY!

Take for example the waterfalls of the e3 2013 reveal of atlissa for instance. Either said waterfall got nerfed or complete removed.

i think one its suppossed to be like a high render/ concept art and then the final game, i doubt even the PC version will look like that, we might have to accept it and move on

I'm happy with the end result tho, it's worth mentioning different time of day also gives a city a particular feel. Might be me but the morning time looks so bright not a big fan of it.

True, and it's not just the waterfalls that are gone - the whole area looks different. We should probably just accept that the first image was concept art and they made what was possible in the second image, which in my eyes is still eye candy.
