The International 2016 (Aug 3rd - 13th)

Na'vi in a BO1.

I have already mentally packed.

DC has to sweep EHOME to get the first seed but already have secured second seed, I wonder if they'll just pull an EG and mail it in for that series.

Arteezy is a meme and an extremely overrated player. He destroys every team he goes.

It really feels like teams cater to him at the sacrifice of everything else

Hopefully PLD and Bulba land on their feet after the inevitable disband.

Feels like this post TI shuffle is going to be insane. Maybe a bit moreso if no western teams win it.

I'm not sure I'd hang too many of their losses the last 2 days on his neck. He made some bone-headed plays, but they're asking him to play the role of Hercules because everyone else is handicapped. I doubt many of the fail calls are his own. That fail gank on the lion by Bulba that last game, for example.

RTZ is undeniably talented, but players have to realize that you can't just get your 5 most talented friends together and expect to win anymore.

Fit matters.

Basically the only team where RTZ has felt like a comfortable fit was the original SADBOYS lineup, which I think would have won TI4 if not for fear's injury.

You have to pair RTZ with a secondary core that plays a safe conservative style and doesn't need much help like Fear and self sacrificing supports like PPD and Zai. Pie kind of fits the support role, but Puppey definitely doesn't, and EE is about 180 degrees from Fear's steady consistency.

When he came back to EG, it kind of halfway worked just because Sumail is that fucking good at playing solo lanes, but you could see the strain between the needs of Sumal and RTZ, especially when it came to drafting decisions.

The RTZ + EE combo is quite possibly the worst possible matchup though.

how the hell did DC get so good

their best placement before this was 9-12th at the major

Well the team was kind of a last minute thing with a bunch of the people left out of the roster lock, so you would expect improvement as they learn to play together. All the peices are certainly there.

eh they've been together over 4 months. I guess they always had the talent though and probably under-performed if anything before

4 months is nothing, especially when you have a captain who's doing it for the first time. They've been steadily improving for a while, remember that they were having trouble scrimming tier 2 NA teams at the beginning, and then they slowly progressed from there. You could see it at every tourney they've attended since.

Still they have ways to go, I feel like beastmaster is a key ban against them.

They weren't together for 4 months in those previous tournaments though.

Maybe that's just how long it took them to figure out a playstyle that works for them.

We are only talking like 2-3 big tournaments in that period of time. For a game as complex as dota is, for 5 players who are just thrown together coming from 5 different countries with 5 different native languages, 4 months doesn't seem like ENOUGH time.

Ehome needs just 1 win against DC to stay top of the table. They would want to avoid wings who smacks most chinese teams left and right.

So much on the line for MVP, Secret and Liquid now.

uhh shadow demon was really good like 1-2 months ago
anyway seems like secret's on a freefall now lol
they'll probably end up 13-16th place overall

just fuckin disband already, it's an embarassment
