IF (and I think that is still an if) what you do is seen by others you could theoretically leave a giant note by using your multitool to carve the words in the side of a cave or rock formation or something. I'd love to know if this type of thing is shared or only in our own instances.

Since you can type Planets names it would be nice to be able to write a description too, althought it could be somehow spoilery I think...

However, carving cave's walls would be awesome too.

0.1%? You forgot a metric fuckton of zeros there buddy xD

Meeting another player, at least early in the game, is virtually impossible.
But once you can name things..... still depends how far out you can see player discoveries (of if there is no limit to that) and just how fast you can travel through the universe.

Yeah, that seems likely. But you could still theoretically use that to go exploring together with a friend, if you manage to find each other. Unless it's like Souls in that players fade in and then out again.
But if you're on the same planet can't you affect the planet, which affects the other persons game?

But if you can see your friend that means you can explore together. Sure there won't be any tag above their character or arrow pointing where they are if you get separated, but still.

I would imagine that it is much more likely that your "exploration together" will cease when you travel to a planet or space station and the game creates your own instance of that area. That, however, I do not know for sure and am pulling out of my ass.

Depends on how many players / how much time of play.

Still, we'll never find our friends unless we spend a lot of time working towards a common goal. That is, playing exclusively for the sake of joining another player.

Orientation on a galactic scale is going to be difficult. Not impossible, but difficult. And even then yes, it's a matter of time vs. resources, assuming you know where to go.

For the Amazon pre-orders saying "Shipping today" :

I'm currently talking with CS on chat and he says that my order has already shipped by UPS even though it still says shipping today on Amazon. I just asked him for the tracking number and he provided that as well. UPS site still hasn't updated tracking info though.

So if yours says shipping today, it most likely has already shipped but Amazon just hasn't updated on their end.

"giant note" .... cmon now we all know what you mean. :p

I think this is the largest I've seen in a stream

Guesswork is all wet can do right now until it's in our hands. Though I think is safe to say that you should be comfortable playing this game solo, obviously.

The only data that is shared between players, so far as I understand it, is the galaxy seed itself.

If you and someone else is on the same planet at the same time, and they start blasting rocks and terrain, you won't see the craters they make or the rocks being blown apart- you'll only see the other player making the animation to shoot at stuff.

I don't even think you'll see animals or plants in the same places at the same time because you are each in your own procedurally generated bubbles. You might even have different sunrises/sunsets, different weather, etc...

Not 100% positive on that, but I think that's how it works. You'll see each other, but you won't be seeing the same environmental changes.

Comfy chair, thick armrests, nice wrist rest, ergonomic mouse, big monitor....doesn't sound too horrible to me.

I guess if you sat in a folding chair with no padding playing the PS4 version on a 32" TV from 10ft away, it probably wouldn't be a great experience either ;)

Oh I forgot, windows 10 broke gamepads so you cant use those on PC anymore right? Good thing im still on 8.1 and using a controller on that.

Would I be able to pick it up at a Walmart at midnight if I preorder there? No Gamestop around me is doing a midnight release and I want to get the physical. Anyone ever try this?

Does pre-ordering game on PSN cost more money?? Cuz the game is 79,99$ (CAN) but on steam it's 66$ (but maybe it's just the difference between the pc version and the ps4 one

Oh good to know. I was starting to get worried :(

One of the most exciting things about this game is discovering more creatures with faces only a mother could love. I embrace this wholeheartedly lol.

Likewise. That's why I hitup chat cause I was originally gonna intercept the LE package if I had to lol.

I was wondering something, the starting planets are all supposed to be on the outermost fringe of the galaxy, right? 'Cause the starting distance from the centre is always the same. Is that the edge of the galaxy?

Locally only, I imagine. Still very, very impressive tech.

Weren't they saying that massive changes, like planet altering events you can potentially do, or really deep holes dug to discover a cavern and the like will register if another player stumbled upon it I believe.
