Good news for us PC folks, this small glimpse into the PC settings from Sean's AMA on reddit looks promising:

Going through that AMA I have never seen a dev less confident in his own game. The hype has really gotten to him.

In 2013, all we heard was how much of a monster MS was for requiring a minor check in every 24 hours because internet is ubiquitous. Now a primarily single player game requires a massive patch day 1 or its "not the real game" and no one cares? Come on, what about "all the military people on bases, submarine warriors, people in the arctic!".
So... You're equating a day one patch to an online only console that removed one's ability to sell, rent, or play used games unless authorized by the game company and developer at an authorized retailer? What the fuck am I reading?

He's always been like that. Kind of why the Molyneux comparisons have always been so ridiculous; he's always been humble, nervous, careful to not overstate the game, very candid about what developments has been like and his fears and whatnot

From a 2014 interview
I would say, actually, we're quite stupid. And that's the reason why we've done this, because I think if we had sat down and thought it through, it would have seemed impossible and not a very good way to make a game.

But we just started doing it. I just started writing tech, and it sort of worked. I describe it as being on a train, and you start shoveling coal into that train, and it moves faster and faster and faster. So now we're like at breakneck speed. There's no escaping that train. If we jump off, we'll be killed. It's like this runaway train now.

That's actually true. You hit problems, and you think "Oh my god, we'll never be able to solve this", and then you sort of think, "Well...we have to." So, we do

...This is the hardest thing I've ever done.

People go mad over Denuvo because it ruins preservation, but this required day one patch, season pass discs, and so on goes unpunished.

I'm not getting that impression at all. He just seems like a normal, humble guy. You don't need to hype your game through the roof to be proud of it.

God, I can't wait any longer. I'm not even expecting the game to be great. I don't get hyped for video games anymore, but the anticipation about whether or not I'm going to be disappointed has created this new version of hype for me.

Come on, tell us already. Tell me it's not incredible so I can move on.

I'm the naked screaming man who gets his dick shot off in that Robocop remake scene where Robocop shoots a bunch of dicks off.

That is why I like him. Very personable, real.

People have compared him to Molyneux? That's absolutely insane. He's never been anything less than honest about this game.

I feel like you should come into this expecting a serene space game that's designed for people who love exploration and taking their time and just coasting around a giant universe finding neat things. Don't expect the space sim to end all space sims or you'll be really disappointed.

Buh the hype, Spore 2.0, ect. I honestly think that the people comparing him to Molyneux only read posts by people with really unrealistic expectations.

So we should expect it to be the game the creators have been describing since the very beginning...?

Shocking :-)

I've been watching some gameplay footage. It seems it's going to be a hit.

Very refreshing experience overall. Specially on consoles.

What's there to punish here? If you're so worked up over day 1 patches - and still want to play NMS - feel free to disconnect from the Internet and play the game to completion. You'll just be just fine.

30 pages for one half assed review?

Hopefully it won't take reviewers too long to put out in depth critiques. I have it preordered but I know many wait for impressions and I have to imagine it is going to take some time to judge this game.

Case in point

Is No Man's Sky a plot by the Trump to make liberals stay home and not vote? Is it a plot to take down Google and Nintendo by stall Pokémon Go players? You seriously don't believe that the hype you feel for this game is an internal thing? WAKE UP SHEEPLE! You're being controlled by corporations!

There's not enough time or dragons available for me to get into this but I hope that the reviews go well so I can pick it up when I get a little more time in life :(

Any y'all streaming this

Legacyzero is done

From 9pm to 9pm I will be doing a 24 hour cancer drive on my channel. A 24 hour livestream of the game on ACG on youtube.

Dude straight up says that after the patch the game looks the same and plays the same. Just a rushed review where they played it prior to the patch and have now been recording after verifying the patch didn't do something that everyone would know they were full of shit about.
