Citations needed. Because I have been heavy in these threads on here, and I have not seen people get nuts to say, "this will end all space sims". Only that this is the space exploration game they were hoping it would be.
Maybe I am reading to much into it. It is twitter afterall.
Yeah, same.
That is the concensus I gathered. Which kept my expectations in a healthy check. I just want to explore and chill, and that seems to deliver.
The planet you're on looks awesome.I did a handful of videos if anyone's interested - but I've only played a few hours, I'm afraid:
Cheers!
The embargo is at 12am Eastern. Thirty minutes from now.Got to admit, there was likely never a more boring embargo lift before. I added all current stuff to the OP.
Need to return to bed now and will be back in 4 hours updating again.

OH NO
come back OP!!
It doesn't get much bigger than No Man's Sky quite literally. Hello Games, the humble British developer behind the likes of Joe Danger, caught the imagination with its retro sci-fi romp from the minute that it was announced but many pondered whether the slender indie studio could possibly deliver. Three years later and the ten or so person team has answered its sceptics emphatically: the firm's first PlayStation 4 game really is as enormous as promised.

what do you even do op
Wasn't it supposed to be 4 AM BST?
Well, going to take a 25 minute nap then.
Maybe this can be answered by someone, but can you adjust the FoV on the PS4 version?
How long till we find out Polygon hated it?
Bummer, I was getting a bit queezy just watching a YouTube vid. :/Not currently.
"The glorification of colonization is abhorrent in this day and age and insensitive to all players living in a country that ever had indigenous life and was then founded by new people."- Future Polygon NMS Reviewer.
Review embargo is at midnight?
Guess we need a new thread ready

Have you been on reddit? The subreddit got out of control around the time of the delay leak, and the same people going crazy on Jason were making outrageous and threatening posts towards anyone that had reasonable expectations of the game being exactly what it is.
I wasn't referring to GAF exclusively, but the entire internet fandom of this game as a whole.
It's kind of antithesis of what I usually expect from a space game and I think that's why it interests me so much. Instead of being focused on all the stuff most space sims focus on it targets the exact thing the rest seem to lack. Exploration when you land. Elite was one where I did my absolute best to force myself to enjoy rolling around on barren rocks in hope of a bigger rock with a mineral and it just doesn't ever become worthwhile.
As Sean said it's incredibly niche, but it's also one that has never been filled well.
We all love you for this, especially those of us working through the night with you =)Btw if jschreier trolled me and robbed me another 30 minutes of my precious beauty bed time, I will be angry.
So the discussion can start off fresh and not at the back end of 30 pages of discussion that veered into other topicsWhy would we need a new thread?

Well.. where are all the reviews??
... I'm not seeing anything new.
This is to be expected. Destruction and Eurogamer, among others, already explained that their reviews would be a bit late due to the nature of the code literally being just updated and finished. I'm honestly not expecting many reviews tonight, and the ones we do see should probably be taken with a grain of salt.Well.. where are all the reviews??
Yep, early discussions are all confirming what I was hoping for: exploration bliss =)Perfect.
Nothing I have seen so far has persuaded me to hold off on getting this for now.
Looks like Jim isn't too impressed.
