Has anyone figured the tiers for ship and suit tech addons yet?

I mean stuff like Tau, Sigma, Theta and so forth.

Also I didn't know additional rows were added once you upgrade your suit beyond a certain level. I first thought 16 boxes of inventory was the max, but then I found another Suit upgrade station and got a 17th inventory slot and a new box and entirely new row was created for even more upgrades, so I wonder what the max will be.

I've went to four planets, and found nothing for my troubles in terms of HDs.

I've talked to 17 dudes at their ships, and none of them have HDs.

Fuck. You.

The costs of the ships are ludicrous anyway, so I'd probably spend just as much time grinding away as I would actually restarting.

How come sometimes when I launch it shoots me straight into space?
I just had a great spot with a bunch of gold deposits, now I lost it lol.

Look for escape pods. Try warping to different systems and see if you can find a space anomaly

I'm on my third system, still looking around :)

Note. Those are not hyper drives. That's an engine

I looked, and it said hyperdrive. Weird.

So if I die, and lose my ship, I'm completely boned for the hyper drive?

How do i redeem trader charisma? I have open slots on ship and suit but still says inventory full.

You have to have multiple open slots.

This morning I named a planet 'Mordor' because, why not?

This evening my son is playing it and I just asked him to name a planet 'Mordor' to see if it would let him. It did.

It looks like the names aren't unique then, which is a shame.

Still, I think NMS is great so far. Played it for a few hours and upgraded my ship and gun etc. Had a blast collecting those gravity ball things on a planet with crazy dangerous sentinels.

Are there any planets that don't have any hazardous conditions at all or do they all have something that's slowly killing you?

Objective acquired. Time to find me some outposts lol.
Finding suit upgrades is iffy. You need to look for crashed escape pods and those have exosuit upgrades. The other way is kind of a spoiler...
if you ever find a space anomaly, you can get an atlaspass from them and use it to open the atlaspass V1 doors. They've all lead to exosuit upgrades in my experience.

Lol. Yeah, i found a lush green planet with huge oceans yesterday. No hazardous conditions at all and all the animals were non threatening. I even found an underwater ruin which was cool.

Find a fairly large base with a landing pad. Those usually have a terminal inside that gives you access to the Trade Network.

Also, if you happened to transfer stuff from your chacter to your ship, and the stuff on the ship you want to sell, make sure your ship is close enough to the base (optimally, on the landing pad itself). If you're too far away from the ship, you won't be able to access the ship inventory to sell its stuff.

Any way to find a marker for this base? Planets are massive.

Whenever you find those Beacons that require a Bypass Chip, what does everyone generally pick for their choice to search for.

I generally ask for Monoliths. I'm all about that Alien knowledge. Doesn't hurt that sometimes you find those cylinders that automatically teach you a word. Sometimes 3 in one spot, on top of the Monolith itself.

I have like 25 words learned so far and my status with the Korvax is pretty good (Atlas Follower) or something like that.

Going to be interesting in a few weeks from now once people start compiling lists of reputation ranks and the tiers of tech upgrades like Tau, Sigma, Theta, etc.

Anyone know how to upgrade suit to hold more equipment slot, and better shield?

Not sure about the shield yet..but I've got 4 suit upgrades (4 extra slots) from finding Pods

they look like this...

It is a strange place to put the blue print. Also it's more an add-on to the pulse engines.

If you redeemed the alpha vector before getting the actual "hyperdrive" blueprint then you might have to restart the game by deleting the system save data for the game

I mean it makes sense, the lore is you are on your own discovering. You're just gonna call it what you want

(Plus there's probably more planets than words in this game, haha)

So three systems explored, every planet/moon checked out in the last two days, with maybe about 8-9 hrs spent. Man its going to take me awhile to get to the center and I'm ok with that.

I think a hard decision Id rather make now than later is come Friday should I just double-dip and buy it for PC and go from there? My PC can easily run it and I only have one or two friends on PS4 that have it..

What say you GAF?

So, does anyone know when the PC release will be out on the 12th? Will it be at midnight east coast time?

I don't think the friends really matter in this case. I'd just stick with the PS4 copy.

Boy this inventory management is terrible, to the point where I wonder if anyone at Hello Games has played an RPG.

- Items are split into what you carry on your person and what you store on your ship, but you can only trade with merchants with the items you have on your person. You have to back out of the trade menu, shuffle your stuff around, then go back in and wait for all the slow-ass text to appear. Except some merchants (those computer terminals on space stations, I think) actually do let you trade straight from your ship's inventory. Why not all of them?

- There's no way to make two items swap places with eachother between your suit and ship inventories; you need a free inventory slot to move items from one to the other. And dropping an item means losing it forever.

- Using the stack function only works within the window you're on. You can't combine the Plutonium in your suit inventory with the Plutonium in your ship inventory. UNLESS you use the button that moves it to the other inventory, which makes it automatically stack if there's anything to stack with.

- EQUIPMENT UPGRADES TAKE UP INVENTORY SLOTS! Like, holy shit, way to completely devalue upgrades. My inventory slots are as precious as Gold in this game; being slightly more resistant to acid rain is absolutely laughable in comparison.

I'm pretty much riding the inventory limit at all times, and have been since about twenty minutes after the start of the game. Obviously I'll eventually be able to buy a better ship with more slots, but even then I can't see myself ever wanting to waste a slot on some reload speed upgrade or whatever when I need to carry half a dozen different types of fuel just to keep all my stuff loaded and fueled, then all the stuff I need to sell to make progress.

Nice! I'm going to hunt for one of those and farm the shit out of it.

This is a random thought, but if someone wanted to erase their save file and start fresh again, would the planets they named go back to being named something randomly generated or would the planet names stay intact?

That'd be great, but I bet it would be a nightmare that'd make the Mako look fun. At least there's the speed trick while walking.

Idk... give me a Sparrow-esq hover bike that operates similar to Destiny's and let me dock it in my ship and i'd be so freaking excited! Give it the ability to use your jet pack system or something and float/jump above canyons etc. if necessary and we should be good to go.

Now, does one find a better suit making all previous upgrades useless? Or do we just have ONE suit we continually upgrade the entire game?

Gotta craft it m8. Ir you can sometimes buy it from an alien at an outpost or galactic market.
I don't have the blueprints to craft one... is that cause I skipped the hyperdrive tutorial by using the preorder ship?

If my save is screwed I think I'm done with this game.

I get lost for hours just mining gold and shit, as I am saving for one of those fly ships that land at the space stations and trade ports. This is absolutely one of the most addictive games I have played in forever.

Yeah I don't really care too much about that aspect, just easier to talk to folks on PS4 chat, but I am curious on how good the game can look on a proper PC.

I believe the only stackables is minerals. In a sense if you have 50 and 50 of iron that didn't already stack itself, you can combine it to make one stack of 100.

I see, is there. Limit to how big a stack can be? I would love to condense my inventory.

Just make bypass chips till you get all locations from a beacon.
Yeah, this is a good way to do it. Like I said before, you end up finding a shit load of blueprints. Transmissions sometimes lead to other beacons that can uncover even more monoliths, outposts, and other stuff. Sometimes they'll find stuff on other planets as well which is pretty cool.

So, what are the odds Emeril is gonna inflate like hell in a couple of days? :P

Is the economy fluent and dependent on our trade?

Agreed 100%. I'm loving the game but it almost feels like they spent all their time making it and no time testing/playing it at times. :/

I'm double dipping too for ultrawide goodness and hopefully a better FOV and unlocked framerate. So I say do it!

Whatever the highest it is for that mineral. Common number is 200 stacks. I haven't compared every mineral to see its stack count, but that's usually what I see.

Yup. This is stupid. I really think the whole Sentinal thing is broken. Force player to mine resources to fly and get off planet. Make mining said resources enrage Sentinals. I don't think they add anything to the game personally. Would be completely fine without those fuckers.

All you need is a bit of plutonium. Firstly you should always carry enough to take off. Secondly if you have left yourself without fuel and mining is tough then just buy some from an outpost and leave the planet.

A bit of foresight goes a long way. Don't go on a trip into the unknown without enough fuel to get you out.

So on your
path to Atlas, on the step where you have to discover 12 species, do they have to be from the same planet? I have found 9 and can't find the other three!! Also how do you discover birds? They keep moving all the time!!

I played for hours and hours now. Yep, this is EXACTLY what I expected and wanted. Got some really cool moments :)
Finally went away from my toxic starter planet (with attacking brains on legs) to a even more toxic and hot planet

Found a new ship and took that. Had a empty space more than my old one :D

Anyone else notice the picture of the Fauna, Minerals, or Plantlife show up sometimes as a split second of a 3D molecular strand model when you hit Options to view your progress?

I saw it once last night, and I wish I was able to repeat it. Found it quite fascinating.

Yup i once found a planet with SOOOO many of these. Ended up picking up like 8 upgrades lol

My starting planet has a bunch. Suit almost fully slotted, I think I have one slot left to unlock.

Got a sick looking Mass Effect rifle from one of the Outposts too.
