He kinda talks about it in this interview, basically saying how it would be cool to condense the procedural generation down to an Elder Scrolls style RPG.
Waittoo paranoid about the lack of hyperdrive blueprints. gonna start over tonight. ugh I upgraded so much shit last night too!
How's the general consensus?
Is it still catching your interest or has it gotten boring/repetitive?
Wait
Can u not just mine for cash and buy a new ship?
Boy this inventory management is terrible, to the point where I wonder if anyone at Hello Games has played an RPG.
- Items are split into what you carry on your person and what you store on your ship, but you can only trade with merchants with the items you have on your person. You have to back out of the trade menu, shuffle your stuff around, then go back in and wait for all the slow-ass text to appear. Except some merchants (those computer terminals on space stations, I think) actually do let you trade straight from your ship's inventory. Why not all of them?
- There's no way to make two items swap places with eachother between your suit and ship inventories; you need a free inventory slot to move items from one to the other. And dropping an item means losing it forever.
- Using the stack function only works within the window you're on. You can't combine the Plutonium in your suit inventory with the Plutonium in your ship inventory. UNLESS you use the button that moves it to the other inventory, which makes it automatically stack if there's anything to stack with.
- EQUIPMENT UPGRADES TAKE UP INVENTORY SLOTS! Like, holy shit, way to completely devalue upgrades. My inventory slots are as precious as Gold in this game; being slightly more resistant to acid rain is absolutely laughable in comparison.
I'm pretty much riding the inventory limit at all times, and have been since about twenty minutes after the start of the game. Obviously I'll eventually be able to buy a better ship with more slots, but even then I can't see myself ever wanting to waste a slot on some reload speed upgrade or whatever when I need to carry half a dozen different types of fuel just to keep all my stuff loaded and fueled, then all the stuff I need to sell to make progress.
I've had absolutely no problem so far mining enough resources to keep systems charged without falling afoul of sentinels. I don't try to overmine any one area, keep moving and mine enough from more dispersed areas. If I seem to be attracting sentinel attention, I begin to mosey. If you're not mining... How are you constantly fueling your ship/suit/multi-tool then?

new ships may not have a hyper drive,

Anyone getting lots of crashing? I am and it's quite annoying. Every 20 mins or so. Only happened since I delete my save and started again to avoid the DLC ship bug.

Don't give up, I read that scanning for factories with the beacons can give it to you. I will try that as well.
well to be honest I don't even remember if I actually did get the blueprints. I have the recipe for warp cells but I'm not sure about warp drive blueprints.
and there's no way to check what blueprints you have if your ship already has a warp drive. I dont want to endlessly search for a blueprint I may or may not have
I can't find any Zinc on this planet!
I've read that I should look out for yellow flowers, but since this is a toxic planet there is not much flowering going on.
Any help?

still rocking the starter 7 slot multi tool because the game hates me and I can't find a new one. is there somewhere I should be looking?
So I want to continue on the Atlas path. I built my Hyperdrive and then warped wherever the gold line led to on the galactic map. Am I on the right track?
I don't see why you have to mine on dangerous planets in the first place.
Think ahead, the planet tells you if the sentinels are dangerous as soon as you land. Why would you then get out and mine anyway instead of finding a better one?
You don't need to sidestep anything. Just find good places to mine.
Can anyone confirm? Can I find the blueprint to the Warp Cells? From what i read on here you may have to restart. BEFORE doing that make sure someone else confirms that.
Pretty sure the patch notes state they removed rotation because playtesters would get disorientated. It's apparent from the timelapse posted in the screenshot thread that planets don't rotate. That's a real shame.

It's all part of the fun!The fact that small inventory objects like chips and alien artifacts can't be stacked is infuriating. And also upgrades that take over one spot.
Why the fuck do we still get this limited inventory bullshit in 2016?
Yeah, but have you seen the cost to make most upgrades? They're extremely inexpensive. I have several swimming tech upgrades, some acid and some heat tech. If I'm ever on a hot planet, I'll just make one of those and throw it away when I don't need it. I think that's a point you might've overlooked.
Might be a good game but walkthrough breakers and crashes are kinda hiding this. We'll know when they patch I guess.
I have a 100% crash blocking me to reach my first annomality

All of mine have been given to me by Aliens at outpost stations and space stations. I got a 8 slot one within the first hour of playing the game, and I was given a 10 slot one last night. I was also offered another one, but the Alien was giving it to me out of fear, so I didn't take it.
Talk to all of the aliens. Make friends with them and eventually you get one. If you don't want to do that, you could just buy a new one. Some of the space stations and outposts have them on the wall for purchase. Just keep a look out. It's likely that there's at least one for sale in your system. They usually cost about 50-60K, from what I've seen at least.
Some ships don't have themWait

That sucks.Pretty sure the patch notes state they removed rotation because playtesters would get disorientated.
That sucks.
Also, trying to Google an answer has led to the scary discovery that many people think that day and night are caused by the Earth rotating around the sun. Sean help us all.
Anyone have any advice on how to find one last species? I already scanned a flying creature, don't have water on my planet, and spent about 3 hours walking around caves and I haven't found anything in them so far. I feel like I'm missing something obvious.
don't think it'll pop up until you actually leave the planet and go into space
