What are the three paths people mention? Also, I just came across the Atlas a second time in my third system, but only have the option to spurn it's help. Is this cause I rejected it at the beginning of the game?

I don't want to miss story stuff.

Yes, it's because you rejected it. However,
you have other opportunities.

Late-game questions:
Has anyone gone to the next galaxy yet? From what I've read and heard, seems like you need to travel through multiple galaxies to reach the center of the universe. Has anyone gone that route, or are they stopping at Euclid?

i think this guy posted in the wrong thread too

Isn't that kinda of a spoiler? I didn't know that :(

Closing in on 24 hours remaining for us PC folks! Just wanna thank all you PS4 guys for actually play-testing the damned thing and reporting the major game-breakers so far. Seems the game needed far more eyeballs on it than the HG staff testers could provide.

Bugs be damned, though. I am so ready for this.

Damn it, GAF. Why did I click on this thread? My desire to pick up this game is through the roof now.

Tell me, how diverse are the planets? I'm not going to be spending hours exploring environments that differ only slightly, am I?

Also, I heard someone describe this as the Pokémon Snap successor they always wanted. Please tell me this is accurate.

Very, but remember it's a coin toss. You might see the same kind of planet for a while.

There is variation though, and a lot of it.

Found the perfect planet. The sentinels are non-aggressive, there are drop pods EVERYWHERE, and also plants that give rare orbs EVERYWHERE, as well as Galactic Market orbs at most of the stations and outposts I have come across. Rare minerals are abundant, I cant leave haha. I already made 2 mill here and upgraded my suit to 30 slots.

As much as there is a lot of hate for this game, I think it is a masterpiece and cant wait to see how they build on this in the future.

What I'm about to say ventures into late game spoiler stuff I think but...

I believe once you get to the centre of Euclid you start in a new galaxy with all your stuff intact. Someone said on here that you start in the same second galaxy as everyone else, leading me to believe this is progression towards the centre of a 'universe'. Although I don't think the term universe or a universal map exists in the game. I am not 100% on any of thise, not even close to the centre of Euclid.

Whoa. That pretty cool.

You should tell him/her there's a treasure in X spot and try and steal his/hers ship.

I dont think you can meet other players, anyway that planet was a hell hole so I'm never going back ha.

But yeah, cool moment. I thought no one would ever find it.

Played till 7AM and went to sleep thinking about this damn game and woke up thinking about this damn game haha.

I'm still haven't made my first jump nor gotten an Atlus Pass V1(smfh)! Currently have 48 inventory slots(F YEAH) and sitting pretty on 5 Mil units. I'm gonna shoot for the Atlus pass today or at least try and not get distracted(unlikely). This gaaaame mannnn, this game is too much. I fucking love it.

Also my 3rd planet had a shit ton of alien Dragons gliding in the sky; like legit dragon serpents! I was in awe.

Finally moved into the next system, sometimes it's important to push yourself or you'll just stay in on place forever.

Edit: Decided to jump all the way to the first Atlas interface.

So can two people use the same name for different planets?

Is there any sort of rejection mechanism.

It's hard to tell since I have been offline most of the time due to what I assume are server issues.

Yet we know people are seeing other people's planets.

It's only 5-6gb anyway which shouldn't take long from Steam's servers

don't remember what GOG was like tho

also, I love that the "gender" section on wildlife can say stuff like "radical", "rational", "none", "vectorised" etc

such a neat little touch that really encompasses the enormousness and variety of the universe compared to how humans classify it

only 24 more hours... :)
Yeah. Red Bull is ready to go.
ALL
NIGHT
LONG!

Send a message saying; Welcome to Hell ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No PC pre load?

Its probably under 10GB so shouldn't be an issue IMO. Final build prob still not done.

Er, yeah, that's one problem. Did you interact with the beacon at your starting ship to get the initial choice? What else have you done so far?

I dunno what path you're on but I think a generally solid rule of thumb for this game is going to be, "if you want to advance, keep jumping toward the center."

I did choose guidance, but I'm also trying to get suit upgrades and such. It's just slow going.

Planets are 1 biome only, this was already clarified long ago.

Now that I think about it, I might actually have read about this some time ago, but I forgot about it. Still, it's disappointing.

Well, like any RPG game, you start with limited space, but can get upgraded. Plus, having limited space forces you to play back and forth between your ship and exosuit.

Walking, yes. But there's an exploit to run faster. Basically you need to sprint, press melee and right after you press it, press X to use the jetpack. If you done it right, you should see your weapon trembling for a bit.

This was known waaaay back. All planets have just the one biome. All videos and previews stated that.

@Inventory:
Sure, but I feel like it's especially frustrating in NMS. But I haven't played that much, and before I quit yesterday I got a new ship and a better multitool, so I've got some more space now.

@Exploit:
Thanks, I need to try this.

Well I got shot down by some pirates for the first time. They don't know the monster they just created. My only goal now is to become death itself and reign down fire on any who oppose me.

So can two people use the same name for different planets?
Someone earlier in this thread said they had used the same name for different planets, so I'd imagine there's no restriction for others to use the same name either.

I think it makes sense to allow duplicate names. If every town has a main street, you can't expect a few of the several quintillion planets out there not to have the same name.

Light spoilers regarding the trek to the center:

I really don't understand how to get to the center. I am still over 170,000 light years away and that's after going through about 6 black holes, some of them taking me over a million light years. I feel like I am not getting closer at all. Black holes just seem to be moving me to other places in the galaxy that are still about the same distance from the center.

My bad, retroactively tagged the quotes and post. Assumed it was a known thing

Well, HG always talks about the center of the galaxy, so I never knew how the other galaxies came into play. Fortunately, it's only a minor spoiler since I don't know how it will work. Because for now, the aforementioned pathway doesn't make sense.

How do I tell where I've been? I wanted to backtrack to a system and can't figure out how.

Keep going forward, you arent meant to go back really, since everything you have seen you can see again. If you find a particularly valuable planet stay and get what you want from it, then move on. Otherwise on with the search man, never go back.............

Getting all my shit done today, so tomorrow when I get home from work I'm jumping right into NMS .

Have a nice bourbon aged stout waiting to be opened tomorrow at 3:30PM ^_^

BRING IT

Found this giant, flying Jelly-Crab. Scared me at first, but was freindly :D

Please post this in that ridiculous multiplayer thread to silence the people now saying Sean was lying about big creatures being in the game.

Yeah, it makes sense. We would start seeing the same problem we have on message boards and services as well. People would want to use the same name and just start adding numbers to the end or dumb symbols or something.

This keeps things a bit neater.
