Hope the Discoveries tab gets a retooling. Would quite like to be able to zoom/rotate the animals I've discovered. Many of them run away so I can't get a good look!

I seem to have taken up a role advertised in the trailers: archeologist/language learner. Can't get enough of those ruins/monoliths/plaques!
Yeah I'm gonna be all about language learning on my PC save :D
Yep, I set one as soon as I found my starting system again. And now I'm there! Currently pulse jumping towards my starting planet. It's silly, but it feels fucking awesome to be back here!

The waypoints don't disappear once you've reached them?
I don't think so, I remember jumping back and forth more than once and them staying present if I then warped elsewhere.
Let me know what you find.

Can someone spoil me a bit? What happens after that magical 20 hours they keep saying on the reviews? I'm now at around 6 hours and
I think it has to do with inventory management and gear
.

Nothing happens, the game mechanics are the same from minute 1 to the end. Not sure what the reviews mean.

Was able to finally find something from someone else showing they are seeing the same type of graphical bugs I am. I was really starting to get frustrated because I spent a lot of my day checking every game in my library to see if any other games were having similar issues, which would point toward a hardware issue, but none have. I was also not having any luck finding others with the same issue.

Maybe just try uninstalling and reinstalling? Apologies of you already have.

Is this game worth buying? What I don't like about it based on what I've seen is mainly that you can't create your own character and there isn't really much interaction with the world.

There's something incredible about getting closer and closer to a planet and how it becomes more and more massive.

It still leaves me in awe every time.

Not too long after my first jump I found the blueprint for antimatter.

Currently I can make Warp Cells for a 20K shop purchase + a small amount of common ingredients.

got that transmission fluid recipe on my freaking starter planet. 50 carbon a pop. get on my level

I can jump just over 1.6k ly.

Try taking on a fleet now then try again in 20 or so hours. The game just plays out differently as you get more built up. Once you are familiar with all the games systems and you are upgraded a lot, the whole pace of the game changes and moves much faster. There is no new magic mechanic that changes.

it pisses me off that there wont be a pre-load on steam and it wont release until mid day tomorrow, not midnight.

they really cant release it at midnight? why?

Is anyone else getting the bug where you keep spawning under level geometry? I can't reload my previous save, and now I'm forced with having to start the game over on a fresh save. I doubt I'll play anymore if that is the case.

Yeah, I thought so. Thanks!

Looks more like the sun will orbit a cluster of planets rather than the planets orbiting a sun.

Now that you say it, this makes a lot of sense. I bet this is what they're doing.
I'll admit I'm pretty disappointed that there aren't real orbital models of star systems in this game...a game about space exploration. And that the stars don't seem to be real objects. I was really looking forward to a Mercury type of planet that's really close to its star.

Is there another biome besides earth, water, and air? I can't find this last species for the life of me.

There are some creatures which only live in the caves.

Looks like it.

Im going to take a guess, but everyone whos replaced their preorder ship, has had the glitched photon cannon.

Damn dude... I didn't even think about it but you are right.

I ditched my pre-order ship for a Crashed ship that I repaired and now I can't reload my Photon Cannon... fuck.

I reaallyyy don't want to start over and lose my 2 million credits.

Y'all got anymore of them vortex cubes?

Spent an hour flying back and forth between this planet plastered with cubes and the nearby space station(couldn't find a trading outpost on that planet argh) and now have a new ship with more slots than I currently need and 2 mil to spare. I think I will upgrade my exo suit a bit more and then follow the atlas.

Yeah, seems like most of the difficulty is in finding the blueprints than locating the actual components. Everything I have crafted has been some really common stuff, with exceptions being purchasable in store. I'm still early on though.

Hmmm I'll check it out when I get home... I don't think photon cannons should ever need to be recharged?

you're supposed to recharge them with oxide materials. my photon cannons are stuck at 0% but I am still able to fire additionally the game is constantly bugging me to recharge them

So when you visit a star system, is it really a set of planets spread around a sun and you can move between each planet?

Or are the planets of a system always conveniently grouped together and the sun is just a pretty backdrop behind them?

They're grouped on one side of the system's star in what would be about 10-20 degrees of a solar system if it was spherical and traversable.

So I just come across the Doom of planets.

It kind of looked like retro Doom with the brown ground and hazy sky.

And those Vortex Cubes creaped me the fuck out.

Btw, if you find these vortex cubes, grab them. But it will alert sentinels. But if you can, grab them they are valuable. It just one haul in that video I was able to sell them for 600,000 space bucks. Unfortunately the planet was in a solar system that had no space station, so farming them would have required multiple use of warp cells. But even in one pass, 600,000 space bucks is great.

EDIT: I don't know if these vortex cubes are common and many of you have come across them yet but damn it was pretty cool.

Some outposts have the trading terminals. I found a planet that had cortex cubes at every base, so I just kept looking for outposts with trading terminals and farming the area.

I just want to 100% a planet, and while I could do that anywhere it just feels so much better to do it with my starting planet. I also haven't visited all the planets in the system, so that's the second goal. Then I'm going for the Atlas path.

I've played over 8 hours but have 2 dumb, quick questions:

1- How do I see the galactic map?

2- There is a waypoint for a ruin on my starting planet and I'm on the moon of the second planet I went to now, and it still shows up on my screen and says "off world" next to it. How come that still exists on my HUD and how do I get rid of it?

1. Press down on the Dpad when out in space.

2. You cant and they need to fix that asap.
.. well you could get rid of it by going there but come on+
