Anyone else having issues with warping to the systems that say "warp reactor X required?" I have a Theta Warp Reactor and I can't go to one of the blue stars for some reason.
You still need Tau reactor installed even with Theta I think. If you have all 3 installed beside each other you have maximum warp distance and can visit any star.

This planet I'm on right now is gorgeous

I've been doing some research on effective Fauna scanning and I think the 100% is generally easier than one might think, barring the few slippery flying fuckers who just don't want to get scanned (especially those damn insect-sized dreadnoughts that don't even fucking die not matter what you do).

The solution is the visor itself, with a feature that I just kinda noticed. I have no idea if this is due to my high level multi-tool synergies (scanner, +2 and +3 upgrades and visor all linked in synergy) or if it works like that by default, but if you keep the visor active for a while, you can see these white dots that are either just beyond the usual creature draw distance or beyond the line of sight due to terrain or something. Those dots are lifeforms of one sort or another. I've been using this feature to track subterranean species and hunting for packs of wildlife, both land-bound and flying creatures, and it has done wonders to the speed at which I can score a 100% on any particular planet. For the last one, you might need to do some educated guess-work whether the creature will be underground, on ground, on the air or in the water, but generally there seems to be a certain distribution of creature types that can hint at where you should be looking. For example, on a 10 creature pool with no water, I'd expect 1 or 2 subterranean ones, 1 or 2 flying ones and the rest will be ground-only by default.

Upon visual contact, the you can easily spot new species and sub-types of critters as the white dot turns red if you don't have a scan of that particular one. Green is for scanned ones.

I've jumped through so many black holes today that my ship has virtually all its parts critically damaged. Feel like I should just buy a new ship rather than fix it lol

Am I crazy, or are the astronomical distances in this game faked? Early in the game, I set a waypoint that I never went to. Since then, I've been doing some testing to see just how fast I could progress through the critical path of getting to the center of the galaxy. I spent a full hour with an inventory full of Warp Cells doing literally nothing but jumping my max distance (8-10 systems each time). I progressed around 6000 light years in that time.

So then I decided I wanted to finally check out that waypoint I set earlier in the game. So I decide to use the waypoint mode in the galactic map to get there the fastest route. I'm jumping my way there and noticing that my distance to galactic center is actually going down when I should be getting further away.

What's up with this? Am I misinterpreting these distance readings? Is the whole thing just faked numbers and really it's just based on how many systems you've jumped through? Someone please help me understand this.

So i was far from my ship and shelter, when a frost storm hit. But lucky there twas a cave. I go in and it was huge with bunch of different tunnels. I wanted to get back to my ship so I used grenades to tunnel through a mountain to my ship.

That sounds fucking ridiculous o.O

I'm about 12 hours into the PC version now, and in the last hour or so the game has become much more unstable. Framerate seems worse, though that could be the planet I'm on. I also got the issue where if you've been playing for a long time (in my case, something like 3-4 hours?) the framerate suddenly takes a nosedive until you restart the game. Both of those I could live with, though not ideal. But the game has also taken to crashing constantly, like every five to ten minutes or so. One of them brought my whole system down, causing a spontaneous reboot (BSOD maybe?). It's gotten to the point where I can't even get the game to save before a crash unless I tell myself specifically to jump into my ship and jump right back out to force a save before I go fly anywhere. Once, as I was getting out of my ship to save, the game crashed anyways.

It sucks because the first 12 hours or so were pretty great--no major issues, except maybe one or two crashes to desktop.

I had the framerate going to like 5 fps issue suddenly. Inspecting my usage it seems at that moment all the hardware clock speeds suddenly drop completely, meaning for whatever reason the game stops trying to pull resources and the video card decides to downclock. Really weird. Only had it happen once so far.

I found a hilariously hostile planet earlier today.

Extreme radiation, hostile Sentinels, aggressive wildlife. Got out of my ship. "Weather Update: Incoming Storm!" And then it said EXTREME RADIATION STORM and my environment protection just dropped like a rock. From full to empty in about 20-30 seconds.

I'm glad I was parked nearby, otherwise that would have ended harshly. Of course, then I noticed that there were stuff to get in range of the ship... Dash out, kill goo-thing, take its stuff, shoot a Sentinel, get back in the ship.

I dont care what anyone says..that scan the building to set a waypoint is bullshit. Its worked for me once out twenty times. All the other times nothing happens or some other random location gets marked.

I need some help :( spoilering just in case....

Ive been following what I suppose are the main missions, and I just got to the waypoint that led me to a space station to purchase a hyperdrive, cool!

Now I need to build a warp cell to fuel the hyperdrive but I do not have the blueprint to create antimatter which is a required mat for building the fuel... So im stuck....

Oddly enough the waypoint is still pointing to the space station and I'm not sure what to do.

Basically, I need to find a blueprint for antimatter, any ideas where I can get this. Unable to continue without it :(

you can buy antimater on that spacestation. I only got a blueprient for that later.

Where are you getting these? I've played for 8 hours and I haven't found a single ship part blueprint. I've found plenty of other blueprints, but nothing for my ship...

Theta I just got from a building that has the Landing Pad + Alien + Galactic Trading Terminal.
Talked to the Alien and gave him Iron.

I'm 30 hours played so far.

The others I got from farming Colonial Outposts from Signal Scanners. Main goal is to get AtlasPass V2 or V3 but I think I'm going to give up on that and work on building these warp drives.

Those requirements for building them though.

I thought green parts were useless sell fodder lol

Nooo the green like it shows on Copper and Iridium? That means its Uncommon.

I got a Warp Reactor Sigma from the first Gek trader I found, about 10 hours in (everyone I'd met up to then was Korlax). Barely understood their language, but gave the trader some coin as a gesture of first contact goodwill and I got that blueprint in exchange. TOTALLY WORTH IT (once I find some Copper to build it!).

So grabbed the PC version Friday and have about 8 hours of play time. 1 of that was probably messing with settings though. I wish it had a little better performance but still loving it despite the PC issues.

Taking my time too. I'm in my second system and crafted the warp cells but doing more exploring before I jump to my 3rd system. Spent a lot of time trying to learn one of the languages and still having missing s lot of translated words.

Pretty crazy that despite the depth that some people say it's missing it actually has a lot of depth if you are willing to put the time into it.

Hopefully they keep adding content and things to do because this game is awesome!

Thanks! I have found it easy to get copper from large asteroids in space.

Is it just me or are a lot of ships either pink or yellow?

Hopefully they allow you to craft paint or something in the future so you can change your ship's colors.

A lot of little additions could add so much to the game.

All week playing and I just got my first lock up and crash. :/

I know others have had it worse but I really hope they find a way to fix it. System crashes make me nervous.

I landed on a dead planet and started mining Emeril for cash. After some walking i saw a trading robot standing on a ground and it was surrounded by LOTS of Vortex Cubes i collected all of them and made almost 1.5mn unit in a very short time.(25k each) I checked on some forums Vortex Cubes spouse to alert level 4 sentinels but nothing happened to me it was a very easy money especially considering i only played 5-6 hours and i can barely understand all the stuff.

Btw i now have 2.5mn and i'm still using pre-order ship what are the chances for encountering big damaged (free) ship on a planet?

Before you trade ships...do you have a blue print for a hyper drive?

CHECK

Wait was I supposed to get an Atlas Pass from my first Atlas station?

Don't bother too much with the Atlas Pass. It's not required to finish the Atlas Path. I got it after finishing it.

You'll just get more stuff at random spots and have access to suit upgrades at every station. That's it.

I do hope they adjust planetary gravity at some point

would make for very interesting mechanics on a low G water world, or a high G frenzied sentinel world rich in cubes

Had my first real crash to desktop after about 20 hours. Accessing a particular multitool terminal was apparently bugged, because it would cause me to crash regardless of how long I had been playing, or any other combinations of conditions. Only one specific terminal though. Haven't seen that issue again, which makes me think there's a hard to reproduce error somewhere in the lookup table for multitool upgrades (or just one of the upgrades is bugged).

Man this is annoying, so I got the blueprints for the upgraded jetpack (the sigma one) and now the game keeps spamming in the bottom right ACQUIRE ONE CARBIDE SHEET TO CRAFT SIGMA JETPACK.

Well I did...ages ago, and it still tells me every 15 seconds, there doesn't appear to be an option to disable that notification either.

Also does the fact that you can't skip the milestone thing annoy anyone else? It last's for so long that it got me killed once during a space battle because I couldn't open the menu to recharge my shield.

What really? The atlas pass is without a doubt the most useful thing I've gotten thus far, every space station has so much more stuff for making warp cells and it was a major source of upgrading my exo suit's capacity. The game really didn't' start for me until after I got one, I felt so constrained beforehand.

YESSS IT WASN'T FOR NOTHING.

I got Warp Reactor Theta Blueprint!

Now I have Sigma, Tau and Theta.

So if I need Reactor Tau, I just need to hop around on a planet going to every outpost I can find? Been stuck with Sigma for a while now, running into plenty of roadblocks on the galaxy map.

Save, quit game, restart console and reload you'll be good.

OK, Got my 48 suit slots and a 28 slot ship, had to dump my 20 slot one to get rid of the stupid DLC ship notification. Time get a few upgrades then start exploring properly.

Which is better, the Photon Cannon or the Beam? I'm thinking of using the Beam simply because it's instantaneous and don't seem to have to lead targets, and I have a +3/+4 damage bonus mod I can make for it.
