PC gaming is trash - confirmed.

... but why?
Disc.

I got about six crashes in an hour yesterday.
3 crashes so far. 2 with my first file (deleted due ship bug); and only one yested with the new file. I've played around 20hrs with my new file.

Could my session be bugged? I've already visited 6 planets, searched through a lot of buildings and never once found a new multi-tool (more than 12 hours of gameplay).

I have blueprints for everything but I'm still stuck with the first five-slot-worth multi-tool (my ship and my suit are so much better it's absurd).

As of this moment I think the Atlas passes V2 and V3 are worthless. None of the doors give anything, it actually seems like it's bugged.

They're almost worthless. On the planetary trading posts with just one landing pad there is a exosuit upgrade station behind one of the doors. By strange coincidence, I found it and used it to max out my exosuit.

This might also be coincidence, but the lore text that came up when I got my V3 pass certainly seemed like a story event. I can't be sure without some others chiming in though. Mine was:
Paraphrasing... screen comes up with somebody watching your journey. Do you close out or contact them? Obviously I did contact.

Absolutely loving the game. In Minecraft I always liked just generating worlds and walking around to see the sights so this is perfect for me.

Just a heads up...

I started on version 1.0. I wanted to knock out the 32 sols journey easy, but then I read that I would need to start a new save or not gain any of the benefits of the 1.03 patch. After about 8 hours I got the trophy for staying alive 32 sols and went ahead and updated to 1.03. The journey progress reset for both the 32 sols and 60 animals (no big deal I already had gold on them) but my progress toward all other milestones stayed the same and continued to update after the patch...

You do not need to delete your save to benefit from the 1.03 if you have an older save on 1.00. I guess the only thing you miss is choosing the three paths? I am not sure if you even miss that because after I update the next system sent me to a point and I had to chose from thee paths...

Using my old save my inventory went from stacks of 100 to 250/500...

Using my old save the variety of animals, planets and ships at space stations increased.

After updating I now have 2 saves, vs only the one on the old patch...

The changes were actually amazing, and made the game even better.

Watching my daughter and son play on a fresh patched version save I see no difference at all. I have NO idea why they would tell you otherwise...

So if you are waiting on updating for any reason don't worry. If you want to knock out the hard trophy for 32 sols, get it out of the way on patch 1.0 and then update. Made my platinum very easy...

I almost always find them on the wall at the facilities with one landing pad.

Wish the scanner was more help at tracking down lifeforms. 5 hours later and I still can't find the last animal on this planet.

Nothing spawning in the caves or water either

Btw, I am on 1.3 and the staying in the shelter/32 sols still works. It's just... really conditional.

I'm 21 hours in and still no Atlas Pass. Just got my first Stone, though. If I'm still on the path (and interference waypoints) I should just get to it eventually, right?

Edit: Naturally, got it ten minutes later.

So I think I discovered a glitch. Not sure if it's been discussed yet.

I decided to purchase a ship while at the space station. After purchasing, I realized I forgot to transfer my things over to the new ship. So I instantly tried to reload my most recent save and it reloaded me inside the space station with the same ship, so I reloaded the older save and it took me a bit further back before I bought the ship and when I was inside the
Atlas
.

Oddly enough, I still had the same new ship I bought. The only difference was that I still had all of my stuff as well as the previous ships storage space, but I got an entirely new ship skin for free.

So I don't know if this was a one off situation or what, but it seems possible that if you like the look of a new ship, but don't feel like spending the extra money on it, then you can change the appearance of your current ship while retaining your current ships storage slots and inventory. You just need to have the funds to cover it initially.

I think it might be a little glitched on some...they say the 32 sols needs to be on the same planet on 1.03...

I also read on patch 1.0 you needed to be on a planet and that also was not the case..I was getting progress toward 32 sols no matter where I was. I just played the game and made sure not to die and after 8 hours got the gold...

So... After you buy a new ship your old one just kinda sits there as an abandoned ship...

Not sure if you can switch back to the old one, then back to the new one and retransfer for gear though...

But your way glitches your money back, though... Nice.

Oh that's true. The same planet, with explicit extreme conditions all the time. You can't leave the planet. You can't be killed. But, you can stay in shelters. Ship doesn't add to the time.

If you leave or die, it resets to zero. You can't do 10 sols on one planet and then the rest on another.

It sucks.... eight hours.

And I have found all but one species on this planet, spent hours and no luck on finding it.

You can, I had to because I forgot to move my cargo before purchase.

I bought the new one, and the old one sat there, but I realized I forgot to transfer my things, so I reloaded the past two saves and it gave my my old ship back in terms of storage space and inventory, but it visually looked like the new ship I bought.

When upgrading the beam, for example, do the new tech nodes have to touch the initial beam node? If so I can see the trade off btwn more space and upgrades on that ship.

Am I right on this when evaluating a ship?

Not 100% sure on how that works (there was a post on it a while back), but they do get that highlight around the square when they're connected to like parts. But yeah, I guess in that one the beam might not be that great since it's on the far left, and thus can't have any of the bonuses from having the extras attached. And I don't think you can breakdown the beam itself and put it somewhere else, though I might be wrong. I know you can't with some parts though.

So is it possible for this game to get huge DLC expansion or no? I actually enjoy it in a weird way even though it feels repetitive i can see where expansions would make this game amazing.

Warped right into a massive thirty ship battle going to my first Blue (Theta upgrade) star. Luckily I had the Sigma and Tau upgrades for the shields and Phase Cannons.

Hm... not sure if anyone else has run into this issue. I built a new Warp Reactor Theta. Trying to go to a system but it says I need Warp Theta and wont let me... Not sure whats going on or if I'm doing something wrong.

Can anyone clarify this or link to the post they referred to?

Considering they are supposedly adding player owned Freighter Ships and Base Building in a future update. I'd say content additions are a very real possibility.

Okay, I need advice regarding inventory management really bad. Should I continue upgrading my current systems with slots or discard them for ones with better slots first chance I get? If it's the latter, are there specific models/types I should go or look for?

Any help would be appreciated. It's my biggest pet peeve so far.

So anyone found or activated an active portal on land ? I found one but could not figure out how to activate it .

I have a feeling there are a ton of mysteries no one has found yet.

I was finally able to reach 1m of money, and already spent 900k in one ship. At least i finally have around 20 slots in my ship; the ships on the Space Stations are always so expensive :(

Can anyone clarify this or link to the post they referred to?

If you put upgrades for the same item (let's say, Jetpack) the upgrades will have a extra color around the slot. No idea what it means.

I noticed that myself when I was messing with the pre-order ship.

The in-game reload in general seems super buggy. It also removes any markers you have if you use it - which sucks if you wasted chips etc to get them.

Came across one on my starting planet and one after. Fucked around with both but yeah couldn't get them working.

I was working on my 80 ship kills and the same thing happened to me..which ended up being a blessing

Things I learned in combat..don't forget to look at your ships dashboard..there is a 3d model of your surroundings that really helps to keep enemy ships from surrounding you.

Attack while holding LT (backing up) is really useful...many times killing the enemy before they even attack you...also it forces them to charge you which makes your cannon actually melt them..then you can quickly switch to your lasers so you can track them as they pass..this backing up also keeps many of the other enemy ships from flanking you and attacking you and can keep some battles one on one...

I've given this game a lot of free passes, but fuck this: everytime I launch the game I'm spawning under the ground, in an invisible sea.

This game is pure garbage in the QA department.

Somethings have been bugging me since I messed around with the game.

The planets you find and land on aren't unknown. There are usually already alien races already on the planet in some form or orbiting said planet in a station. Why is it you can rename an already discovered planet that has people on it already?

It stands to reason the creatures, etc should already be cataloged in some form as well. Even if there is no alien race you can find there are the sentinels that are scanning everything already.

That makes no sense to me. Why do you need to find ruins or objects to learn an alien language when those aliens already still exist and you're interacting with them?

It's not like you're finding languages of a long forgotten race.

So it doesn't need to start at the base tech like beam, cannon, etc?

This reminds me...how do you "discover" creatures? I've run up to them many times, but never get to name them or anything. How?

Hold left trigger and scan them (with the scan visor installed on your multi-tool). Then pause it and go into the planet selection thing and hold the corresponding button (depending on controller/kb) down to name them and upload.

You can name animals/plants/planets/star systems.

So a couple days ago, I was all set with having to jump 3 systems to get to the Atlas something or other. I died because of pirates (not sure if this triggered it) after warping to a new system and yesterday I noticed I was another 3 systems away. And my path-line is purple.

I'm not in a rush to get there as I'm more about finding life and documenting it but I'd like to know what's up with my path.

just reposting this... anyone know anything about this?
