Final Fantasy XV - 50 min video

Have you watched brotherhood? You might like the cast more if you do.
Nope, was waiting for all 6 videos to release. That's what I was saying though, going in to this week I was not too crazy about the cast but the previews/gameplay video turned it around.

For Brotherhood, I will certainly watch it, possibly the prequel movie too but I am of the kind that the game needs to be able to carry itself without extraneous materials.

Edit: For Ignis VA, I work quite a bit with Brits and we have a guy who lives near London and sounds almost exactly like Ignis. I am not too well versed on British accents but didn't find the VA particularly bad (unlike glad the cast in XIII). Maybe he sounds different to Brits' ears.

What will be the OT title, anyway?

I kinda feel like using one of Versus' catchphrases would only make people salty and lead to off topic discussion. Maybe go with Reclaim Your Throne?

You sure he isn't putting on a terrible accent too :^)

Yeah, I think the hair looks pretty good. Its just the aliasing that really drags it down unfortunately.

This game just begs for downsampling. It's a shame that I don't think I'll be able to wait for the PC version, that would really be the ideal way to experience it for the first time.

I'll definitely double dip, though.

Sadly. I thought it looked fantastic in Duscae.

I mean everything is possible but then he kept it up for years now and the rest of the folks in the other side of the pond don't comment on it. Then again English is not my first language so it could be just me :).

Hahah I wasn't serious, I'm pretty sure you know but saying it anyway. English isn't my first language either but I don't find it that good, idk I guess we can chalk it up to personal preference.

I don't get all the hate for Ignis's voice. He sounds kinda like Balthier from FFXII and I don't remember people complaining then.

I'm rewatching the footage and just noticed that the spider enemy inflicted Prompto with the stop status:

You can see the clock icon next to his HP bar.

So you pretty much confirm that the hair itself looks great, but the aliasing makes it look horrible.

Basically what everyone else has been saying, but... Yeah.

That is part of the problem. What matters is the final image presented on screen. It is an ill conceived implementation.

Other developers have worked within the bounds of compromise, here they pushed it to breaking point. There is a way to fix it, though I wonder if they will.

Agreed. That's why I'm saying the current way it is displayed on screen is ugly. But the hair itself is pretty great.

I absolutely don't like how in the span of the first 3 chapters you're commissioned errands by four different characters (Cindy, the guy in Galdin Quay, Cor and the little Falk-kid). Hope the main quests gets much, much tighter in terms of activities going forward, otherwise it would be a big no-no for me.

Aslso, i'm really curious to see to what degree we'll be able to customize Noctis and the Party combat styles, until now it almost feels like there's very little variation in playstyles.

Btw, i bet Shimomura had the time of her life composing this game's soundtrack, such a wide variety of genres!

Wow, it's not just the IQ, look at how bad the technical aspects are all over.

This is what I'm talking about. 2 months can probably improve the IQ and the framerate...but the game just looks flat and dated all over the place in the 50 minute video. I'm not sure the visuals can be salvaged, especially if the engine is at fault.

Tabata has said numerous times that he wanted XV to be a technical marvel on par with what VII was in its day. I think they've fallen far from that goal.

Thank you

*watches the car pushing scene again in HQ this time*

There are

gigantic

Dreamcast level

sprite based trees

plain as day

literally 20-30 ft from the car...

*Skips forward to combat footage, sees them everywhere*

I seriously cannot handle this right now... Duscae had NOTHING like this!

I said gaddamn

I downloaded the 8 gig HD file....the game looks much cleaner than it does on Youtube but some of the graphics are still not the best.

When it comes to party combat styles, I think choosing the appropriate party action for said bro given the enemy is what makes the difference. For instance, you have Gladio for crowd control with tempest or you choose another skillset depending on the enemy.

On the other hand Noctis revolves around the weapons and your particular playstyle. Do you want more mobility? Pick swords with air warp abilities, want to do extra dmg? Broadswords, want to have mobility and not lose all your mp ? Have the engine blade equipped since it recovers mp after each hit. Remember different swords have different attributes and effects.

Main quests I'm with you but if the storyline is intriguing I won't have much of an issue.

Looks like the footage is a mix of PS4 and XB1

Kinda surprised that they bothered with XB1, but it's nice to see that since I don't have a PS4 yet.
