I 100% would be but im going overseas a couple of days before release for a month. I wont be able to play FH3 until late october. Its going to kill me haha, but ill be having a good time in europe so im sure ill manage.

Sounds good to me! I played the F6 demo recently and was surprised about how much I liked it which was mostly due to the handling and drivatars. Horizon does look like a pure fun racing game in the vein of Burnout Paradise, so that'd probably be a safer choice I think. Thanks for the response!

Horizon rewards you for driving against the traffic/near misses etc. Its what makes the game fun

I assume you're planning on playing on PC?
I'm going to be very interested to see how FH3 and Gears 4 look/perform on PC. I feel like up to now the PC ports have been mostly last-minute hack jobs, and have suffered as a result. But these two are probably the first cross-play titles for which PC development was anticipated early enough in development that we'll have a good taste for what we can expect from cross-buy in the future.
I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition last week. Couldn't wait!
We need to get the GAF crew back together for some more hilarious shenanigans. I promise not to crash into everyone as much.

I believe Play Anywhere applies to digital copies only. Might want to look into that.

They usually offer a good amount of content to at least satiate the appetite a bit.
That's when I got my 1060. lol First game I played was Apex. Thought I could get to level 10 in Forza hub, but I'm still short by a few hundred. Going to call MS and see if I can get this physical/digital thing sorted out.

People talk so much shit about Forza being milked by Microsoft. But after hearing about how the next Gran Turismo is delayed to 2017, it reminds me that Microsoft, Turn10, and Playground have the driving video game scene down to a god damn science. I mean they have a corridor simulation racer (Motorsport) and an open-world arcade racer (Horizon) releasing in alternating years. Longer dev cycles for each one. And the games just keep getting better and better and better.
Meanwhile, Scorpio is coming out next year and if somehow Turn10 can manage to make Forza Motorsport 7 a launch title, it will be a beast. Motorsport 7 will be absolutely nuts with that extra horsepower.
Personally I have zero interest in corridor racers, so I haven't and probably won't play the Motorsport series. But I really loved Horizon 2 and I can't wait for Horizon 3 next month.

Ryan McCaffrey asked the head Playground dev in the IGN Unlocked interview if they have any plans for FH3 on Scorpio since its an off year for them and he didn't get too specific only to say that the high rez assets are already there (for the PC version), soooooooo.....
I wouldn't be surprised if those assets show up as a patch on FH3 when Scorpio drops.
Yes the Play Anywhere program is awesome and Apex runs great on my PC.
Apex isn't open world though so I think Horizon will be more demanding at 4K.
Hell yeah - I wasn't around Forzagaf horizon 1 or 2 but well up for getting some races going this time

I remember watching that as well. It definitely made it seem like it was a highly likely scenario. I'm already anxious to see it in HDR, but Native 4K with HDR?
!Edit: So I just canceled my Deluxe Edition Pre-Order... Because I had to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition!! I hope the Car Pass has some good cars in it so I can justify spending the extra $20 to play it 4 days early, lol.

It will auto-download on the Xbox if you've download the placeholder (108.1 mb) and have the console in instant on mode when the pre-load becomes available.

Is the placeholder the icon on the dashboard? I have that, I have it sent to instant mode also, I think I do, I will have a look/check tomorrow, how soon do people think that it will be available?

Yeah. It includes a discount, but since the prices aren't available for the DLC yet, it's hard to be precise.
Based on FH2 prices, the savings would be just $5, but the FH3 car pass will probably be more expensive since it's larger (7 cars per pack as opposed to 5). My guess is it saves you $10.

It was explained in the leaked Xbox Help document. Basically, occasionally the DJ will announce that the next song is a "skill song" where you get a bonus like 2x XP for doing skills such as drifts and near misses until the song finishes.

I remember people complaining about the lack of a festival vibe when this was announced, but it looks like you'll be building up and upgrading the festival locations all around the map, as well as signing radio stations and the like; seems like they actually increased the festival presence from the second game, just going by the achievements list.
Also, could the "This. Is. FORZA!" achievement be a reference to that Dan Greenawalt 300 meme picture?
Yeah I really like the idea of building out your own festival, and being in charge. It means you can sorta just go wild. If I want to make the next major event be 50 lap outback endurance race in Buggies, I can do so, which is crazy to me. Feels a lot more refreshing than just spinning the same old "zero to hero" racing game cliche story again too and allows for a lot more freedom of customization which is great!
