No universal power supply? That's disappointing. Since the PS3 they've had universal 100-240v power supplies. I wonder if it's external this time.
So pretty much a nothingburger for those of us without 4K.
how does it compare to a 970 with an i5 4670?genuine question since i know very little about this kinds of stuff
Native 4K rendering or upscaling?
Graphical upgrades, better framerate, and 1080p for all games is nothingburger? Alright
Depends on your 970 but just looking at the FLOP count it's probably still more FLOPS than the "Pro's" GPU. Mine is at just over 4.5TF at its factory OC that boosts to 1430MHz. The main issue going forward though is going to be potential VRAM limitations which probably won't be that big of a deal for another year or two.So this is more flops than my i5 6600 and 970 gtx. Is this more powerful?
Idc what year it is, 6 TFs in a console sized box is insane. I used to game on a Coleco Vision.
Its like people have forgot how much tech has progressed.
You can have a $200 UHD dedicated player if you're interested in movies. Will read UHD blu-rays way better that than the Xbox One S...
Doesn't mean much to me. I can see why some on GAF would want it, though.
There's a list (a very small list) of 'forward compatable' PS4 games whose performance is increased in some way..I think. Hopefully more titles will be added to take advantage of the power. Someone just made a thread.Does this improve the graphics of regular PS4 games? I missed the presentation.
Unfortunately, The powerful Scorpio will not be able to be on shelves this november...
When talking PSU, then it has to compared to the PSU.LTTP:
- Is the polaris in question part of the new 16nm APU or 28nm
- Does the heralding of PS4 Pro with its max power consumption of 310W (a 100W more than first gen PS3) mean that with PS5 can boast respectable specs at comparable price point?
True. Seems like the Xbox S is almost as powerful and does more media wise than the new Pro. That's pretty crazy!

Optical lives on!
yaaaaassssssss
Optical Digital Output Terminal. So there's that.
thank the lord for Optical output
Do we know when pre-orders open?

Cold bloodedThe Ford Edsel of consoles.

NVIDIA has dropped the "M" line of their GPUs and now laptops will have full GeForce cards including GTX 1070s and 1080s both of which are obviously way more powerful than what's in the PS4 Pro and in a smaller form factor. Cost an arm and a leg but that's where we're at.

I was posting from memory as and just saw the spec sheet so apologies for my mistake.
Still means a just over a 20% increase, would suggest ps4p draws upto 180 Watts, I can believe that but it still seems high when the full RX 480 only draws 150 and the other stuff is barely going to be more than 50.
The Ford Edsel of consoles.
Probably already mentioned, but like a hour ago one Insomniac guy said there is additional stuff in the Pro that helps to increase the resolution. Do we know what he means? Or did I misinterpret his comment (don't think so, but who knows)?
They mean Xbox S(corpio)The Xbox One S is a 1.4TF console.
The PlayStation 4 Pro is a 4.2TF console.
I think you should reconsider your math.

That's dead on three times the TF.The Xbox One S is a 1.4TF console.
The PlayStation 4 Pro is a 4.2TF console.
I think you should reconsider your math.
NVM i've been wrong.The Xbox One S is a 1.4TF console.
The PlayStation 4 Pro is a 4.2TF console.
I think you should reconsider your math.
One S is still a 1.3TF, where do you get 1.4?

I see a lot of people believing they have to have a 4K TV to use this. That seems silly. Why couldn't you use a 1080p TV and still benefit from the performance increase? Surely this thing can output at 1080p and it's not forced to always do 4K output.
Yeah i've forgotten this i've already edited my postGPU is overlooked to 914 MHz. So 1.4 teraflops.
The leak spoke about 512MB of extra memory freed up for devs as a side effect of the OS footprint being reduced thanks to the higher memory bandwidth.I thought they added 512 megs of memory? From the leak.
I think you mean upsampling, and yes, sure it is.
True. Seems like the Xbox S is almost as powerful and does more media wise than the new Pro. That's pretty crazy!
The Xbox S isn't even "almost as poweful" as the OG PS4.True. Seems like the Xbox S is almost as powerful and does more media wise than the new Pro. That's pretty crazy!
