Dead Rising |OT| Chop Till You Drop Remastered

It does. Own the game and while the cutscenes are still 16:9 the actual gameplay is at 21:9. Port seems good so far.

Awesome. Thanks. Looks pretty good. I'll probably double dip on this

Damn the crazy
clown
just kicked my ass.
As a general rule are firearms reliable to take down bosses or am I better off seeking good melee weapons?

I find firearms are good against bosses.

In the main mall you can also pick up a sub machine gun off one of the top awnings by jumping over on the left of the stairs as you go down the stairs. That helps quite a bit.

The sub machine gun is really great for early bosses. You can beat
sniper carlito
with it easily. I'd use pistols against
the clown
though.

DR2 and Off The Record won't even start on my PS4. Tried reinstalling, but no dice. Just freezes once the Capcom logo appears. DR1 works like a charm. Anyone else encounter this?

Man, I'm playing the original for the first time ever and it is fucking brutal. I feel like I'm doing incredibly poorly. I'm only about to start Case 2-1 and I've already missed/failed a few side-quests. Any tips or advice?

You're supposed to fail some side quests. Just so what you can and get through the game the first time, don't kill yourself trying to 100% the game.

I'm sure it's been asked before, but how does this work for PC now? Dead Rising 1 got an entirely new Steam listing with a 2016 release date, but 2 and Off The Record didn't seem to change. Did they patch changes in, or is the remastered console version basically just the PC version, so nothing had to be changed?

The console versions are just ports of the existing PC version.
Thx

PC version runs beautfully, looks quite sharp too, dem old assets though, dont remember it looking that bad but that's the reality :)

Mouse aim is fucking weird though, I mean it works, but its very ..... swingy, not precise. Cant decide whether its poorly implemented mouse aim, or an attempt to maintain some difficulty with the mouse. Default KB controls work great, except for aiming and telling survivors where to go (hold Q and press CTRL).

Forgot how ruthless the game was low level, getting butchered but still somehow survivin', people have died but who cares this is Dead Rising round 1 its meant to be :)

Decided to give them a shot.

I hope to beat Dead Rising this time around. The save system annoyed me and forced too many do overs the first time around, and I went on to something else.

Replaying DR2 should be a lot of fun.

I can't wait for 4.

Is there a way to rebind the dodge button to clicking in the left stick, instead of having to push in a direction twice? It's incredibly unreliable to pull off.

I'm confused about this. It says "Open the game profile in Nvidia Inspector" but DR1 doesn't show in my list of games. Is there some way to manually add it or am I supposed to use the global profile?
You can create a profile, then add the .exe to it. Guessing the program hasn't been updated to already have the profile.

Oh! That little yellow ball icon, I think I looked past that about a dozen times before I realized that's how you create a new profile. Thanks.

Yea Ive had the same problem, the only way I have got them to work is by disconnecting my PS4 from the Internet in settings

Decided to buy 2 because of how much I enjoyed it when I bought it even though I haven't played the other two.

Terror is reality(online mp) is already impressively empty on PS4, 30 minutes and only seen 1 other person. Why they kept that as a trophy/achievement is beyond me. I wanted to plat this one but I am not desperate to just find a group to win share with.

The load times themselves are great though there are noticeable graphics and minor glitches.

I'll buy the other 2 when they go on sale.

Not sure what one I want to buy.

Don't really want to spend $60 on all 3. Suggestions?

Buy DR1 now, then 2, then OTR.

I probably like OTR overall more than 2 other than the shitty checkpoint system that kind of ruins the game, but a lot of OTR doesn't really work if you haven't played DR2 as the story kind of takes for granted that you've played DR2 before. I mean it's playable standalone, but it's a game that's definitely best played after 2 rather than before.

Jesus I've just read up on this!

"You need to survive infinity mode in DR1 for 14 hours without the ability to save at all."

The WR is only 18 hours

208

Guess that's one trophy I'll be giving a miss.

Guess what?
Every in-game day is two hours, so that world record is actually 36 hours.

Oh shit that reminds me, has anyone been a bad enough dude to get far enough to test the food court crash on day 5 yet? That would be amazing if they fixed it after all these years.

All 3 for $60 is a good deal. This coming from a dude who bought all three on both consoles and owns the original 360 versions.

Dead Rising 1 is still one of my favorite games ever. It'll actually challenge you with it's bosses, inventory management, and rescuing survivors to level up. That and it's really satisfying when you get the true ending. Dead Rising 2 is a lot more forgiving that the original, but still pretty fun. The co-op story mode is great. Off the Record is a better version of DR2, but has Frank returning as the main protagonist. More bosses, new area to explore, weapons, cut scenes, better humor, still has co-op, etc. The thing is that OTR isn't canon where the original DR2 is.

Is there a way to just purchase DR1 on PSN?

Btw, those load times, so good - so much better than the shit I had to endure when I first played it on 360 when it came out.

This is still the only sandbox (open world) survival horror game, right? I can't think of another game like this. Also, it's probably the last oldschool/ survival horror by Capcom, right?

Just to be clear: this is still survival horror to me. It's nothing like RE4. You're not overpowered.
Sure, there aren't any puzzles but I always got the impression that the time limit is the puzzle here...

Oh, so you can start a new game when you die and keep your levels.

I... Kinda want to maybe try restarting every time I die? Is that an utterly stupid idea, how long is the game on average? Of course parts os subsequent runs would obviously go faster since I'm just going through the same stuff.
It's sort of like Majora's Mask, you return to day one but you have much more information about what to do this time. It's actually a very clever mechanic, especially since it's impossible to do everything, you have to have specific goals to your runs, such as killing every psychopath OR saving everyone.

OR doing main story missions ;)

So I got lucky this time. Super Jeep Bros got stuck on errant ground geometry and couldn't chase me or my fully equipped party as we ran back to the security room.

Smooth sailing so far, Sniper Carlito was a bitch but I got him to commit suicide by making him throw his escape-nades while he was stuck to an item sitting in his path. The next psycho between me and the main quest was pretty easily cheesed too through the fine art of corner camping.

...Is cheesing Psychos to kill them going to be a recurring theme here?

You can kill sniper carlito only with hockey sticks, lol. There's a sports shop nearby

Edit: Cheesing psychos is sometimes recommended (well, if you have a low level). I'm pretty sure it's intentional.

I'm thinking about getting a Surface Book and hopefully get some DR in [if compatible] but the 7 day challenge might be bad for it =[
