As much as I am looking forward to ROI, your post is making the content situation look way better than it actually is. Bungie takes an awful amount of time to come up with rather low amount of content. It's not a new patrol area, it's the same cosmodrome with some 2 sections added to it, it's not new strikes, it's just one new strike and 2 remixed version of old strike that play pretty much exactly the same. 5 new story missions, one new PvP mode, and 2-3 maps.No.
New patrol area
New social hub
New raid
New arena
New story missions
New strikes
New gear
It absolutely compares to the previous expansions in terms of price.
Not quiet as much as TTK, but considerably more than the first two expansions.
Basically it took them one whole year to come up with ROI and it costs $30 on top of the money they make off microtransactios (which was suppose to provide us with free content regularly or atleast big content at once). But most importantly, this is suppose to last 1 year (no I don't expect them to add much for April update..much like this year). In comparison TTK was $10 more BUT at a time without microtransactios and launched with:
-4 new strikes
-2-3 reworked strikes
-8 story missions
-an actual new patrol area
-3 new subclasses
-3 new PvP game mode
-one raid
-9 new PvP maps
-the usual gear and quests which are more than ROI as well.
In short despite only being $10 less and while having a microtransactios system in place, the content we are getting is more like 50-60% of what came with TTK which had no microtransactios at launch.
Now I know you are going to say that it's because most of the studio is working on Destiny 2, and you would be right. But I want to ask if it's what you want from this game i.e. the live team and DLC ream will always be short staffed because the majority is working on the sequel...all the time.
Their engine is inefficient and it takes an awful lot of time to create anything in it. It's the only reason why they had to change fromIthe original plan of two content per year to one slightly larger content per year and also delay Destiny 2 from this year to next.
