Forza Horizon 3 is wildly flexible. If you feel the handling is too arcadey, and it is by default because it assumes a player is average, you can change it.

And if its anything like previous Horizon games the Rivals mode is an endless feast of challenge.

Join a GAF club and you can go to town tearing your way up the leaderboards by perfecting your runs on each course. I've lost many a weekend doing the same, and its a great way to learn each course in detail.

If you like Forza (or better, if you liked PGR), you will love Forza Horizon 3.

The game looks great, but don't expect a huge jump in graphics from turning on HDR, it's a subtle difference.

I think opencritic let's you ignore specific review scores. Metacritic is slightly weighted so you can't determine what the score would actually be unless you know what the weights are.

As more reviews come in, as long as they're positive the outlier will have less and less weight. Tom Chick's 2/10 score for Horizon 2 ended up being near meaningless towards the overall score it got.

Sounds more like your reviewer is getting bored of playing racing games honestly. Or at least Forza ones as he makes it blatantly clear every possible chance that he doesn't like that each new year there's a new forza.

Metacritic weighs scores differently from different critics. It's not a straight average.

At 90 metacritic, FH3 is the best rated Horizon games and the best Forza since Forza Motorsport 4... nice.
