A historically racist corrupt institution has good apples sure but when you have complacent cops covering up for their brothers & sisters in arms no matter what, a sprinkling of paid vacations & internal investigations when some gets wrongfully gunned down thanks in part to the mountain of a Union and the few that actually make the right call & resolve a situation without bloodshed run the risk of getting fired.... but if God forbid you do lose your job for committing criminal misconduct don't worry just move to another precinct to find yourself back where you left off.

Knowing all of this, I don't see a problem with people venting at a rotten institution.

Oh fuck that sympathy bullshit. If this was an issue on discussion, it shouldn't be on the onus of the victims to speak. I thought the police were there to protect people.

Maybe if the police weren't murdering people for complying with them, maybe, just fucking maybe we would safer trying to talk to them. But until then, fuck the police, and fuck anyone defending their behavior.
 
It never ceases to amaze me how other groups can have guns on them and even shoot at the cops, yet for some reason they stay alive. Meanwhile the black guys unarmed or not, end up dead every time.

I just don't like blanket statements. Since we are always grouped together - drug dealers and gangbangers. I have dreads and when people see me, they assume a lot of things until we have a conversation.

As I stated, I don't know any of you personally. So I am not going to assume anything. But call me out. I don't mind. I'll continue to respond.

The statement is true. Policing in the US IN GENERAL is awful across the board. Anecdotes of good cops does nothing when bad cops get away with murder daily.

If that came off as sympathy, that wasn't my intentions. I give no sympathy to ignorant people. I don't care what uniform you are wearing. Especially cops because if their position. This what we are discussing is fucked up. Dude got shot in Tulsa and then this...no excuses. I think there is a severe lack of training as it pertains to knowing your citizens instead of profiling.

and more importantly, when they do so and the "good cops" don't step up and say something or do something. Instead, they remain quiet while injustice takes place. Yet we are to call them "the good ones" because they aren't murdering people in the community? Grats on meeting the bare minimum expectation. You aren't murdering people but you're enabling those who do. Thus, you are not actually "good" at all.

Show me the percentage of cops that won't jump to the defense of questionable or crooked happenings by their fellow officers. That won't remain quiet and passive in the face of injustice. I'm gonna go with < 1%.

The interpretation is that he had a gun and had it because non-uniformed officers were approaching without identifying themselves. He may not have meant he had a gun, but that they thought he did and he got out to confront the strangers. Not totally clear but that's the going interpretation.

Most accounts I've seen (particularly, the victim's sister and daughter) say he was not armed. We have a tweet that might suggest the (a?) brother said he was. The police obviously say he was.

That's your right to believe saying fuck cops is the same as racism. But you will continue to be checked over that fallacy every day of your life. As one dude chimed in, his uncle is cop that he loves. And he too chimes fuck cops. Because it's a systemic issue. What do you think others that understand the difference between blind ignorant bigotry of people with deeper pigment, and a systemic problem in the justice system, understand that you dont?

Black people don't all have rules that they follow. They don't have a badge that says protect and serve, they don't dishonor that badge by executing people daily. Individuals are individuals in every action they take. The body of police are executing people and getting away with literal murder. Their unions protect them. So it's fuck that.

We are always grouped together and always will be. Police accountability and better training will reduce the number of us being executed. One of these things is absolutely nothing like the other.

Remember police aren't a race of people. They are volunteers doing a job, and that job nation wide is having problems with shooting unarmed people, lying, and walking.

You keep mentioning ignorance as if you're the only one with an anecdote about the 1 good cop you know.

It's especially weird to me when I hear about when police will use a taser on a person, who is clearly incapacitated at that point, and then the cop shoots anyway. Like, I can't even FATHOM the rationale there.
