Final Fantasy XV TwitchCon Presentation Stream

Actually, do we know which region does this video take place in?

There's also the Marlboro spot.

The Marlboro at least is on a different continent based on this map:

Hey guys, look at that ESRB description, I don't know if it's new, but it might contain spoilers, so I'll spoiler tag that for those who are interested :

http://www.esrb.org/ratings/Synopsis.aspx?Certificate=34533&Title=FINAL+FANTASY+XV

During the course of the game, some female characters are depicted topless, with breasts that lack discernible details (i.e., no nipples).
probably some naga/siren/echidna enemies or something
The word “sh*t” appears in the dialogue.

I guess this map semi-confirms at least a second, less big, open area?

Unless that other area is connected to the same continent Altissia/Accordo is, there might be three so far. Of course, we don't know how many there really are. As past maps have shown, the layout seemed to have changed considerably. The first map showed, what looked to be one continent/region of a greater world(like FFXII). Little by little, additional maps are showing that this big land mass has slowly broken apart.

Since we have something like 300 songs just to listen to while cruising, I've got to believe there's a lot of road. I still think the game is going to be damn big.

Where?

It could've been just Shiva, or a non snowy area with light snow weather.

I'm not talking about the short, off-screen scene with Noctis freezing his ass off inside the train. In the World of Wonder trailer there's an outside shot of the train traveling through a snowy area.

Did you mean from this trailer?

If yes, that doesn't confirm snowy area imo :(

Could just be part of the traveling through train cutscene. Hell, maybe the train segment is the whole linear stuff Tabata was refering about.

In the TGS trailer when they're traveling on a train. The spot they get dropped off shows a snowy mountain in the distance.

Even if you end up being right, this is hardly a confirmation of a snowy area. Looks like just background stuff to me.

Shiva, which has been shown in the latest trailer, has to be located somewhere snowy, I'd assume. Let's see if the leak saying that
there's a snowy area where after you defeated Shiva the whole snow of the area melts away
is true.

If that is true
I would not want to defeat Shiva
lol

Awww...why do I always have to uncover the spoilers? :/ (I do it very slowly and carefully so I can stop at the right point but I never stop anyway.)

If the spoiler is true that would actually be amazing and quite the surprise...if you haven't spoilered yourself already that is. .__.

lol I do the same thing. Just the first word... alright that's not so bad now the second!

I resisted this time, though. Been trying to avoid the leak spoilers in case they're true. My will is strong. Now you've made me more curious what it says, though... Nope, not gonna look! XD

Oh, you don't need to look. It's not like you won't be able to sleep tonight asking yourself what it could have been about, right? ;D
I had a hunch what it was about anyway. You probably do too. Wouldn't it be cool if your hunch was correct? ;D
But you really don't need to look. It's not that big of a deal actually. I will probably have forgotten that I heard about it earlier when playing the game and be pleasantly surprised again. ;D
Yeah, that "leak" (if you can call it that) actually made my day, so cool...

I... I refuse to be tempted, demon!

Lol, that weren't my intentions at all. XD

Just going to conveniently place it here again...

There's a snowy area where after you defeated Shiva the whole snow of the area melts away.

...just because, you never know...;D

Something that's been on my mind since EGX and I really need an answer if anyone can help.

Is this the full playable open area in the game? After you progressed through those regions: Insomnia, Leide, Duscae, Cleigne is it just the linear path to the end?

This is the same map from the full build (minus patch) that was at EGX. this was it, no more land mass like the big map or clay map we've seen. I could not scroll down to Altissia etc. It's making me think that only these regions will be open.

Just noticed there are no roads to anywhere else.

So yeah now I'm pretty sure this is it.

You know that the journey takes them across the sea at one point?

And we see those islands across the sea tho and there doesnt seem to be many roads there. And that yellow line must the train track. Doubt there is a fuuuull open world there.

TBH thank the lord.

I think it being Open world to linear structure is genius! The game will benefit tremendously from this.

I'm guessing these areas represent 1/3 of the journey. TBT once said Lestallum was going to be the most important town in the first third of the game. After we are done with it the Chocobros will travel to a new continent (most likely Accordo/Altissia). The train segment starts in the latter half so it might be after we're done with Altissia anyway.

On a past topic, I enjoy large "bland" areas in games as a way to build contrast and don't think that just because it is a video game every single area needs to be packed with stuff. In fact I hate the "video gamey" feel that that creates. "Realistic" (not as in true to real life but what would make sense in an actual world and not just a video game) gameworlds and world design are some of the biggest things that I enjoy though, and other then the "slightly higher then you can climb craggy cliffs" blocking off the edges of explorable space I have high hopes for this gameworld.

I agree to an extent. XIII is still the closest thing to having every region be visually arresting, and I think that contributed to the shallow world feel.

My favorite in the series, VI, had plenty of generic scenery, but an epic journey played out across that semi-realistic world, and that's what mattered. Not that there shouldn't be some sights of course. It's all about the balance I think.

I think they are doing a great job to keep everything secret so far... i believe this game will probably be much larger then that.

I agree. While I don't think the map will be as big as other open world games like The Witcher, or Xenoblade X, I think a lot of people are greatly underestimating Eos' size, and will be eating crow when the game launches.

I'm not saying that's the full map. I was saying that maybe that's the full "open" part with linear sections after those.

You guys are jumping to so many conclusions believing that's the only open-world areas, only because that's the only thing we've seen so far.

If there was a PC version down the line, I hope it's on Steam, not on Windows 10 store. Ughh at the thought of Windows 10 store.

I would double dip if it was on Steam for sure.

Well, tastes differ...but I would rather spend my time running around exploring, fighting monsters and doing quests here...

I see room for both, and the presence of the second example can make the first example feel that much more enjoyable, while the mere existence of the second example in addition to the first example and other extraordinary landscapes can make the world feel like an actual world.

Empty plains and deserts can be necessary for the overall feel if you are going with a big enough play space.
