Norf this.

And where has this lady been the past 2 decades? They used to play Lil Jon's "Get low" on my schoolbus in high school.

Right?

I'm old enough to remember when it was a big deal for record companies to have to put warning labels on albums/CDs.

"I will" ?

She should listen to The Weeknd's "House of Balloons" album next.
Please, I don't want to see another white woman dead from a heart attack.

Time to listen to Summertime again. Definitely one of my favorites from the past couple of years.

Just change the channel and don't let your kid listen to it. If asks why she can't listen to it, just her that its grown folks music intended for adults and you can listen to it when your an adult. Boom, problem solved and you didn't need to get all hysterical and start crying about a damn song and make yourself look silly.

Dear Radiostation,

Driving in my mini van (the latest Dodge Mini-Van, we're fancy). We were listening to your station (my daughter loves you guys!). When suddenly our ears were assaulted by a cacophony of sounds the black consider music. Some rapper named Vincent Stapleton has a song called Nerf Nerf (a amateur rank analogy to a gun to be sure). It was just the most vile song I've had ever heard in my life, and was shocked to hear it on your channel! When I was growing up music was wholesome and safe, now we have....this on the air. I broke down and cried, I just couldn't hold back the tears imagining the youth of America being indoctrinated to listening to this!

They glorify this lifestyle but never talk about black on black crime, or how many of them don't have fathers (my children's father aren't in our life, but that's different because). All they do is smoke the weeds and make this horrible music, while I work to subsidize their lifestyle. I'm starting to get teary eyed just writing this. It hurts to see them hurting like this, but that's no excuse to ruin childrens' lives with this music! He glorified...abortions! How is such music allowed?!

He "raps" about not being afraid of anything but telling kids to run away from the police! My best friend is half cop on her father's side, and I found this very offense! Blue Lives Matter! As the song continued to play, it just got worse and worse. I'm scared for my daughter and the woman she'll become if she continues to listen to this! I was powerless to stop this song from playing, so I'm urging you as a mother...no, I'm urging you as a fellow human being think of the kids and remove that song from your rotation!

Recently got into Summertime '06, love it, and I'll be seeing him December if I manage to get tickets. While there's no doubt he's condemning the subject matter he discusses, I think there is a broader discussion that can be had on hip hop and the representation of violence. Perhaps not with this particular album though. In this case, it's indeed funny that of all the media she chose to make a rant on it was this one.

Think of the impression this will give young Aaliyah.

Yes, the song is indeed super inappropriate for someone who has no idea who Vince Staples is or has no context about the song. Royal you incoming. But, that's why you actually take the damn time to read up on what the song means and learn said context. If you took the time to look up the lyrics and analyze them, you have the time to read up on his background and see what the song actually means.
Sure. I'm not defending her making a video freaking out about it.

Just allowing that sure, it's not something she should reasonably expect on top 40 at 9am. Most people who listen to Top 40 honestly don't treat music as art. I don't think their audience is under obligation to like the music they play. She can change the station.

The video is silly though.

Never heard of the artist in the OP before, but I don't really follow music what so ever. This remix however is ridiculously funny. In fact, the whole story is. How can a song visually upset someone like that? If it was upsetting her so much, why didn't she just change the radio station? Why listen to the whole thing? Or was it so she could get this outraged?

Hey lady, the 80's called and want you back.

Meghan Trainor? Blech! - Now THAT'S offensive.
I bet she bops along to Nicki Minaj's rimming lyrics no problems too.

GeoNeo

I disagree.
Look forward to follow up video in 10 or so years time when this women's kids lust after that BBC. 😂 Hold that shit. Fucking clown crying over music video.

Congratulations to Vince Staples for this brilliant piece of paid promotion.
If she had a bottle of sprite on her desk as she read these lyrics back. Maybe I'd believe that. He does love hocking his sprite sponsorship.

I wonder if she ever heard "My Ding a Ling" by Chuck Berry?

I like how she's most upset about CUTTING CLASS and the word abortion. Ignores all context. Like if she wants to get upset about gang life stuff, sure... still missing the point, but maybe her kids would too. But she seems to not mind too much about lyrics that are literally about killing people, as long as they aren't about cutting class haha

My god those remixes and video links got me dying.

Vince is great though. I can see why people might not want their kids listening to swear-heavy tracks but at least his message is a ton better than a lot of shit out there.

This is the face of white privilege. Little does she know that Vince Staples music is Kendrick Lamar levels of conscious. I mean yeah kids shouldn't listen to it, but okay.... shut the radio off

Yeah, but then she won't have anything to say to the congregation of demonic music through her speakers.
