I also kind of expect that even if they DO keep him they'll refuse to vote Republican downticket just to spite the establishment for abandoning him, depending on how this escalates. They probably only had losing moves left to play and the best shot was to at least save their dignity for future runs.

It's all old and readily available. It's just that people are starting to go through all his interviews. I've heard a few of them before. The one that sticks out to me is the feud Donald had with AJ Benza on the show. He called up bragging to AJ about how he stole his girlfriend from him.

Isn't it funny how the news media is only now "revealing" previous comments by Trump that have been widely circulated for months by websites. CNN is acting like the Ivanka comments by Trump are only now been unearthed.

Yeah the Stern stuff is really nothing new. I think it's weird too. Maybe it's directed at people who aren't familiar with his pre-candidate persona? Or it's meant as a more direct repudiation of his recent claims? I don't know. Outright boasts about sexual assault rank higher.

But now I wonder at the consequences of a hard funding/advertising swing focused on stoking long-fomented HRC hate and last-ditch "it's us or apocalypse" rhetoric. I can see the symbolism of a write-in candidate killing it with the Trump fan rebel mindset, and if Pence dog-whistles juuust right when asked about his support of Trump's excesses, I think he can pull off a candidacy - at least one that turns out the base.
