Final Fantasy XV first 45 minute gameplay video (final build of the game)

Funny enough none of the characters from 1.0 were really replaced. Even the canon Warrior of Light is the same guy.

FFXIV is going to go down as such a weird memorable thing for me. As someone that played it since 1.0's launch the disappointment, leading to the hype for 2.0 and all the cool shit that happened at the end of 1.xx with the transition over is something that will never be replicated by another game. And it was all thanks to 1.0 being such a garbage heap at launch. It's why FFXIV's end game might burn me out and cause me to take massive breaks, but I'll always come back to it when new expansions come out.

I mean...
Warriors of Darkness. Are they really the same?
She's most likely someone we already know.

Ah, yes... the
Yda theory.

Edit:
On that note Yda was never a "strong" character to me. She's just always...been there. Y'oshtola is a much "stronger" character.

Thread already being derailed to talk about XIV again.

Let's talk about part 3 of the English voice cast video. Love the fact that Ray Chase loves V and VIII. Really good dude and loves two of the best entries. ;)

I haven't watched it because I'm trying desperately (and mostly failing) to media blackout myself as much as possible. But from everything I've seen about Ray Chase he seems like a cool ass dude.

Once again placing your faith in a character who hasn't spoken a single line of dialogue. :P

To be fair, aside from Minfilia being another damsel in distress whose boobs increased in size after the calamity, FFXIV has done a good job at representing female characters.

Yeah, some clothing choices are questionable, but at least that's also true for a lot of male characters.

Also, just look at her.

UGHHH Minfilia how they managed to drop the ball so hard with her compared to the rest of the female cast, when she was supposed to be more important then them I'll never understand

People were SOOO happy to be rid of her, Nobody wanted to find her at all, just get the rest of the Scions that weren't her

Also that's totally Yda's sister, she doesn't have Yda's tattoos

<3 Minfilia

She and other Scions are
missing after the events just before Heavensward which is where I am, and I feel really nervous about that whole thing :(

I've never noticed the soles of their shoes were red before, but since it was brought up I can't unsee it now. I hate it, it's so distracting now. :(

Top one is from the recent 2016 TGS trailer. Bottom is the 2014 high-end PC walkthrough.
Woah, pretty impressive that the devs got it on par with the high end PC version, then. The bottom GIF does seem to have denser foliage, but both are different locations, so not a fair comparison.

Vegetation and lighting look better in the PC build if you watch the whole footage, but everything else looked early. Everything else is better in the new build, but that build is obviously built for a higher spec, and if polished, would have looked quite a lot better than what we have now.

I am pleased with the top gif though, if it does represent what we are getting. I suspect it is from PC though, and representative of what we might get on PSPro

The 40 known to us enemies of FFXV in video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go_sfY-iHqM

To think there is going to be even much more... I will only be able to fight like half of them. The other half is much to beautiful to harm. ;__;

I'd imagine FFXV will have at least 200 different enemy types (including bosses) going by the previous FF games.

For example:
FFXII had 350+ different enemy types.
FFXIII had 200+ different enemy types.

If they can give us an amount somewhere between those two games then I'd be more than satisfied.

lets not count the countless reskins from ff12, shall we?
Seriously seeing so many reskinned enemies in ff12 was one of the myriad of reasons I fell out of... liking for that game quick.

Both XII and XIII + sequels suffered from that yeah.

I don't think they ever gave a reason. Tabata basically shrugged it off, noting that FF always does that:

i'm not happy with his answer at all. No one else got a name change.

It's as bad as Ni No Kuni's dumb localization for names. (Changing "Mark" to "Phillip" for no reason other than giving the localizer something to do)

Wait... Phillip's name was originally Mark!?

But anyway, when I saw that quote i pretty much though that he was saying that he hated it, and that people higher up didn't quite get why, and that it was out of his control.

I don't get that. XII had the most robust enemy lore the series has ever seen. And "reskinned" enemies make the world feel more realistic, because there are actual varieties of monsters among a single "species".

This not quite official leaked Versus XIII storyboard really triggers me stronger than I thought.

Le sigh.
