Overwatch Sombra ARG - No one is ready for Sombra [Up2: New Model Leaks]

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Moving on.

Comprometer is a verb, comprometida is an adjective, adjectives tell you the gender of the noun depending on its spelling, comprometida (female) comprometido (male), however, in spanish we dont have an "it" pronoun neither the word "the" which can be used on male/female/things, it is always male or female (el / la), things have a gender always, but... it is implied that things are genderless, such as bastion, or a protocol.

So basically the month long countdown just basically confirms that she'll be out in the VERY next patch. Cool Blizzard, I already knew a month ago that she would release by this year, thanks for finally confirming it! /s

I hope the next hero is just "announced" with some in game things, like a poster or newspaper article or files and stuff. Just things in the game world, no ARG, no countdowns no "something will happen when this get's to 100%! Never mind I lied!". Just something like Ana, a file in the game, some confusion, then bang! Out she comes. No expectations, no waiting around, no solving "clues" which lead to "wait for the next thing". Oh, and teas like weapons or something when you're close to release. Like Ana's gun.

No, fuck that, for once let being a vocal minority works so that Blizzards knows that this fucking ARG things and overhyping their new heroes is bullshit.

Pretty sure they got the memo by now.

Letting them know is fine but some people (here and elsewhere) are going postal (exaggerated obviously) when its not that big of a deal. Blizzards isn't going to say shit about something that people honestly aren't supposed to know about. That isn't how these things generally work. The ARG has bombed...no doubt. BUT they obviously had a plan that they are trying to follow because that's how business works; for better or for worse.

I'm a native Spanish speaker.

I don't even think the reaction people are having to being led around pointlessly by this fake-ass ARG advertising stunt is that bad. Surprise, people don't like being jerked around, and that's all this Sombra garbage has been for two months now, Blizzard's marketing team jerking people around. The response has been far from disproportionate.

Comprometida is also a verb being conjuged. Compremeter is just infinitive form. How can be "comprometido" and "comprometida" be two different words? Makes no sense.

I would use "Ella se ha comprometido" to say "she has been compromised" as "Ella ha sido comprometida" could also mean that "she been engaged"

One is more clear to me than the other but we will agree to disagree.

I double checked with people that I work with from Mexico and we all agree that the first way would be the best way in this context.

I mean, I'll admit I speak brazilian portuguese and not spanish, but I think this is just plain wrong? As in, there's nothing even to disagree here. Word duality is a non-issue in spanish and is interpreted by context

lol, well, at least people can read it to interpret the spanish parts of the arg.

made an edit to the post to further explain. but comprometida is an adjective e.g. (la unidad bastion esta comprometida) in this case the verb is "esta", comprometida is an adjective (the bastion unit is/has been compromised)

I hope they'll learn to never do this again with a character. Or at least, make sure your countdowns dont lead to nothing and don't make these last for three months+

This has been a total shitshow.

I would use "Ella se ha comprometido" to say "she has been compromised" as "Ella ha sido comprometida" could also mean that "she been engaged"

Then you would fail your spanish test, the "reflexive form" "se ha comprometido" is used for wedding-engagements-relationships.
If you use like you suggest "Ella ha sido comprometida" for wedding-engagements-relationships context, you would be implying that she is engaged against her will since "ha sido" means that action was done by other person. You have mixed-up your examples.
For wedding-engagements-relationships a native Spanish speaker will use:
- "Ella se ha comprometido" o "Ella se comprometió"

If a native Spanish speaker wants to say "compromised" then the correct way will be
- Ella ha sido comprometida" since like I said before the "ha sido" means that the action was executed/done by a third party and not the subject in question.

I hope one of Sombra's voice lines is something like "Yo soy un autobus en la biblioteca"

Oops you're absolutely right. Still, adjectives take their gender from the subject they're attached too, so it's still "comprometida" and not "comprometido" like the other poster said

I did mix up my examples then I guess. I am in the wrong on this. I don't know if we all use things differently but I asked people from Michoacan, Guerrero, and Tijuana and they agreed on "ella se ha comprometido"

(this conversation is more interesting than this ARG)

We've learned absolutely nothing about this character throughout the ARG. That's rather embarrassing for them.

We know she's definitely a hacker, she get's bored easily and may have been a stripper at some point. The amount of leading people on and teasing this girl does, she definitely may have been a pro at it.

Jesus lmao

I gave Blizz the benefit of the doubt even after the countdown to a countdown. But this isn't okay. A countdown of that length and leading people on for so long is ridiculous. If nothing happens today then I'll be extremely disappointed.

Even they announce it at Blizzcon we won't get it until like Nov 7. I wonder if they were gonna announce her today but cause of Red Dead 2 they didn't.

That would be crazy stupid. So a game got an announcement of a release 1 year out.

Why should that have any impact or a new character for an existing franchise.

At this point, I'm more willing to bet that the ARG team gets an Xmas bonus based on the number of website hits they get.

RDR2 announcement hardly impacts OW community and their thirst for new permanent content. RDR2 announcement didn't make them cancel anything.

Red Dead 2 is stealing all the attention right now. Could be Blizzard wants as much eyes on Sombra as possible when she's announced. It is stupid but I'm just trying to make sense as to why they would fucking give us the biggest blue balls.

We're all trying to find the logic behind it. But I don't think there is anything to really find.

It's a bad ARG at this point. All there really is to it.

Considering how this thread imploded, Reddit is imploding and official Blizz forums are imploding because this long countdown result in absolutely nothing I would say there were plenty of eyes on this. Blizz are just running ARG without having single clue about what they are doing with it.
