All this shitfest is due to Nintendo's lack of info with their customers, and an absurd ego.

Right? This whole thing has gotten out of hand now. Nintendo clearly doesn't care about their fan base anymore. The secretive Nintendo used to be a quirky novelty, but it's become just another slap in the face with each passing day they stay quiet, and the skin has become too tender to take much more. It might even be too late for them to make it up to people. I mean, the reveal has to exceed expectations that I think are impossibly high due to this extended period of nothing. I still hold hope that they can overcome this, but it has become incredibly difficult to defend them.

I can't believe some of the childish behavior in this thread. It's even worse that some are directing their frustration at Emily. She only reports on what she hears; sometimes it's accurate, and sometimes it's not. You all need to step back and look at the real source of your frustration: Nintendo.

There are plenty of Nintendo fans who are able to wait patiently for news. Fans of Nintendo know they do what they do on their own timeline for their own reasons.

The problem is that she tweets everything she hears and has confidence in rumors that she shouldn't. She has no filter and seems to just share everything she hears and stands behind it 100%.

10k, I think is on the right track with his evolution - namely he uses the tiered structure and gives us some idea of how credible each rumor is. Emily just defends every rumor she hears as if it were a member of her family.

Nintendo has held an investors meeting after their quarterly results go out on the regular for a few years now. This year, Nintendo has not scheduled the meeting. This could imply either an allocation of time and focus on a reveal really soon, or Nintendo just doesn't care to meet with their investors, which would be really odd for a company like them.

When I say be mad at Nintendo, I'm not saying take to public forums and start slinging derogatory comments every which way you can. I'm saying hold them accountable for what are clearly some poor decisions. They are a company with a lot of prestige, but they can't live on that alone. People are asking for NX info because Nintendo has assured us they've not forgotten about us, but they haven't done anything to reassure us of that.

How one presents a rumor is important. If it is a rumor, don't present it as fact. Some people don't seem to have learned that, even after years of doing it over and over and being criticized for it. Here's an exhaustive leak of reliable Nintendo news to watch:

1. Nikkei (the only Japanese newspaper I think is trustworthy on Nintendo)
2. Takashi Mochizuki (WSJ journalist, regularly covers Nintendo)
3. Dr. Serkan Toto (pretty reliable as an analyst/Nintendo watcher but I don't think he has any insider info)
4. Nintendo itself

I can't think of any others.

Toto does have insiders under his belt from other companies tho. He hinted "new" Smash Bros being in work by Namco Bandai again.

We will see if it's reliable or not.
