Actually the fact that Red Dead 2 announcement happens tomorrow, and NX is supposed to reveal this month, with Emily pointing at big NX news this week...i think it is possible that they'll announce Red Dead 2 for NX too, perhaps with some exclusive features since NX hybrid nature, who knows actually tomorrow could be funny....still i think Friday is more likely for the announcement of the reveal next week

Nintendo info coming at end of RDR2 trailer when they use NX's real name in the list of supported platforms.

Or, you know, not, given they aren't even bothering with a PC version out of the gate

I really hope Emily's right. It seems like the hype train is either about to crash and kill everyone or fly off into the sunset. Exciting times.
 
Emily Rogers tells GAF that "big NX news (are) coming this week but it will be a surprise". GAF will not know the day of the news until Emily Rogers lets everyone know that it's close.

Having reflected on his sentence, GAF draws the conclusion that there will be no NX news this week at all. GAF's reasoning is in several parts. First by concluding that the news can't be on Friday, as if the news hasn't been said by Thursday, there is only one day left - and so it won't be a surprise if the news is on Friday. Since Rogers' sentence stipulated that the news would be a surprise to GAF, they conclude it cannot occur on Friday.

GAF then reasons that the surprise cannot be on Thursday either, because Friday has already been eliminated and if the news hasn't been said by Wednesday night, it must occur on Thursday, making a Thursday announcement not a surprise either. By similar reasoning GAF concludes that the news can also not occur on Wednesday, Tuesday or Monday. Joyfully GAF retires to their normal fake-NX-news day confident that the surprise will not occur at all.

The next day, Emily announces the news incoming — which, despite all the above, was an utter surprise to GAF. Everything she said came true.

Lololol at the distant possibility of NX being the first consumer product on the market with HBM2. That would be incredible, given how much talk HBM2 has gotten.

To me, if this is in fact what happened during the talk, Nintendo searching for VR dev and being interested in it tends me to believe 10k's/SMD vision of what the NX is is more believable than Emily Rogers/Eurogamer.

There is no way you can achieve correct VR on Tegra X1/X2.

I'm hyped, Nintendo please, don't disappoint me with a handheld console, you already have the 3DS and it's selling quite well still.
Get back in the race.

Also, I don't see RDR2 being ported to NX if it's significantly less powerful than current gen consoles. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rockstar isn't so fond of downgrading their games to do ports. Didn't see any Rockstar game on the Wii, nor Wii U.

just wanted to say:

I want to see this thread die an honorable death, either because an NX announcement arrived or because EM failed misserably on her predictions

I hope you guys consider strong moderation on a case by case basis over closing the thread because people went overboard with memes/gifs/stupidity.

1. I dont think this is a smart idea. One thing about leakers is that if a leak happens a company may delay the announcement solely because of a correct leak. A real world example happened recently with the highly anticipated Frank Ocean album Blonde. New York Times which is credible had an inside source on the album and magazine being released and somehow the album didnt drop when they said it would. Why? Cause they spoiled the surprise. While Emily Rodgers has been wrong, she has also been right. It's obvious she has some inside sources. She may have been right but because the surprise was ruined Nintendo may delay their original plans.

There's actually pics as evidence! Thank you for sharing, it's not often we actually get evidence of people's claims!

It doesn't seem to say much about the NX, as we knew they've been experimenting with VR and they have a long history with AR. But again, thank you for sharing!

We generally get a new thread within a day if not hours on some other basis. It's not exactly shutting down discussion.

VR is on mobile phones and it's quite good.
