Not scripted at all, you were just very lucky ahahah![]()
Haha! I thought that was a little too smooth.

I wonder Phawx, have you tried running other GC games you had issues with like Twilight Princess ? I'd be curious about Paper Mario too.
Even reaching out to GeekBuy to cancel has been a pain.Maaaaan why don't they send a confirmation email have no idea of a unit is coming or lost.
Have you guys seen the Smach Z? What do you guys think, compared to the GPD Win?

You should let the developers know about this.
Pipe dream. Don't back it. GPD is a proven company.Have you guys seen the Smach Z? What do you guys think, compared to the GPD Win?
I did. When you do this it will override the efb setting which will make sunshine run faster however the graffiti will break.
Basically any game that requires efb will have something broken by doing this.
The dev told me it's been a UI thing to fix for a long time now, yet no one has done it.
Gah, so the tradeoff for the performance is that it makes certain games unplayable, potentially?
Nope![]()
If you happen upon any other titles that would benefit, could you let us know? Also, did you ever get Fzero GX running on the GPD WIN as good as GPDWIN GAMER got on his Beelink?
Could you test out SNES or Higan, Phawx?
Nope
Doesn't make sense to me as I can produce better scores than the Beelink.
I should be getting my 8700 in this week so I'll do some tests there as well.

hi dear,
thanks for your email.
once we pack well,we will ship it out.
when sending out,you will get a tracking number.
hope you can wait for it.
have a nice day.
Debbie
So they need to test and pack them well
Bunch of liars
They are planning to use an AMD chip. The largest issue for a device with this use case for me is already CPU performance, and that won't improve matters.Have you guys seen the Smach Z? What do you guys think, compared to the GPD Win?

The x86 instruction set (operations implemented in the CPU) is insanely complex. Newer x86 designs simply added more and more operations while keeping all the old ones (for backwards compatibility)
This has one main advantage: x86 CPUs are remarkably compatible to REALLY old code (I think it's even possible to run some DOS applications natively on modern x86 CPUs).
But there is also a large drawback: There are a lot of duplicate and/or redundant instructions/operations that cannot be removed without breaking backwards compatibility for old programs. All these operations are implemented on the CPU with large transistor networks that constantly require some power, even when not in use.
ARM designs on the other hand are specifically designed for low power applications and use a very small and efficient instruction set (RISC). One the one hand that means that some operations that could be done on x86 in one single operation take multiple steps/operations to complete on ARM, but on the other hand the CPUs are much simpler, contain much less transistors and require much less power to run.
Add to that that at higher clockspeeds the differences between architectures begin to blur (at least for general computing, where you don't need complex operations all the time) and x86 has not that much of a speed advantage but quite a heavy power cost.
Hey Phawx, can you try some isometric RPG like Shadowrun or Pillars of Eternity
sorry for the delay ,we check that the item has arrived in our warehouse,
after testing and packing,we would send it to you ahead of others,
would you mind waiting a couple of days?looking forward to your reply
My email is better:

That is, if they actually manage to build something.
Considering I just got an email Monday, and It won't be shipped until Tuesday, I'd believe it if geekbuying got an advance shipment. You may get your GB order before I get my IGG order.
Well, the GPU would be better... That means that it would be better for 3D games, or the CPU would be too much of a bottleneck?
Where did you order from and when?I just received a shipping notification! And yes, I opted for a more expensive shipping option. I won't order anything without a tracking number, of which I only got a placeholder.![]()
Where did you order from and when?
Me too!Geekbuying about two weeks ago.
From Phawx' tests so far it looks like many of the types of games I'd like to play on a device like this are more likely to run into CPU limits. Of course, it always depends on your use case. And, well, there is the entire feasibility question which GhostTrick brought up to consider.Well, the GPU would be better... Me too!
What shipping method did you use? I used US priority mail.

Personally, I think the best currently available chip for a device with this form factor would be something like the i7-7Y75, but obviously the pricing on that is ridiculous.
Pre-orders were discounted. Not sure if geekbuying still has it at $330 or not.How much is this thing now?
Thread title says 299$.
German shop says 450 euro.

Is there no msrp?Dragonbox is overpriced as hell. Geekbuying or Gearbest has it for 330 dollars. Belchine has it for 370 euros.

Phawx, do you own Dragon's Dogma?
