First FPS campaign in awhile where I felt there wasn't a dull moment - game is fantastic. One of the best shooter experiences this gen.
Helmet collectibles, alternate paths and approaches to combat and parkour, and trying out different loadouts. After finishing the campaign, is there any reason for a second playthrough? Collectibles? New mode? Anything similar?
4.5 to 5 hrs. It's short, but sweet.
It's good, but those saying it's better than DOOM, I have to wonder if you're the type to just get very excited about the newest thing.
This still feels like MW and typical military shooter single player. It's done very well but it never leaves that genre.
DOOM was some next level shit.
That section gave me FEAR flashbacks. IMO It captured that same thrill of how FEAR's slow-mo and the enemy's reactions to your enhanced skills felt so satisfyingI'm up to theand holy fuck is this game fantastic.time shifting part
Is that boss after the assembly bit? I can't remember. If so, and you thought that was bland, then you'll probably not like the rest of the game. Maybe you'll enjoy one section in particular but thats it.Just killed, when does this start getting "amazing" because so far it's pretty dull.Ash
All guns are samey, story so far is shallow, set pieces are bland, and the graphics are really mediocre.
I regret reading this thread since it's what convinced me to purchase this game.

Not sure what to tell you. Just because a lot of people enjoyed it doesn't mean you will or that you will even agree with themJust killed, when does this start getting "amazing" because so far it's pretty dull.Ash

To be fair, they're totally different kind of games. Doom is an old school shooter for the modern age, This is a modern set piece-focused shooter stripped of all filler and puts gameplay first before all elseTrue...this one just stood out cause it's getting unanimous praise for its singleplayer, from users and critics. I just don't see it though and I'm kinda bummed about it.
For the record the last great singleplayer FPS game I played and enjoyed was DOOM.

So satisfying.

For the record the last great singleplayer FPS game I played and enjoyed was DOOM. But then again I also thought Wolfenstein TNO was a terrible game.

I've been hearing this a lot. I generally tend to ignore shooters since they're so multiplayer focused, so it's refreshing to hear about a campaign being this good.
hmmm may have to pick this up for ps4
If I recently tried to play Halo 5's campaign and was so bored after 30 minutes that I immediately sold the game, is Titanfall 2's campaign something I might actually want to stick with?
For reference: I do like FPS games.
Almost every FPS campaign recently released was better than Halo5. And I love Halo, don't get me wrong. The campaign is just unremarkable for the most part.Halo 5 is one of the worst FPS campaigns in recent memory and Titanfall 2 is one of the best.
World of difference.
How does the campaign compare to Wolfenstein: The New Order and DOOM?
Yes. It's in orders of magnitude better than Halo 5's campaign. If I recently tried to play Halo 5's campaign and was so bored after 30 minutes that I immediately sold the game, is Titanfall 2's campaign something I might actually want to stick with?

I didn't really understand or follow the story that well, but the gameplay and mechanics were super slick and awesome
I'd give it the nod over DOOM because DOOM is a one trick pony, it just executes that one trick flawlessly. Not as good as DOOM but still good.
Yea the art direction is amazing.I also think the art style is being really underappreciated. I love the James Cameron style 80s industrial sci-fi + militarism lane they're working in. The use of color and lighting gives the game a painterly concept art look at times, and something about the material shading is really appealing to me. The whole presentation is really underplayed, but still very striking at times. I have a bunch of screens I'd dump to illustrate my point, but I don't want to spoil anything. Easily my favorite visuals in any of these recent sci-fi shooters.

I just finished the time travel portion. That was damn awesome.
Like I said in my review, it's the Super Mario Galaxy 2 of shooters. Nonstop inventiveness wrapped in unbelievable locomotion.
