So I was listening to The Sound of Silence and I realized the song is actually flames but that most people will never know because the intro has basically become a meme now

I'm pretty sure there's other shit people think shouldn't have become a meme.

What are some other things that you wish didn't become a meme GAF?

The frog was a mistake.

Your mum
Meme's in themselves are baffling , sometimes they are so stupid they are funny other times I find myself face palming

Rape horse from Berserk. It feels like that fucking one off monster is more well known than anything else by people who haven't touched the series.

"It's a trap" from ROTJ. I have no idea why people think it's funny, but in so many Star Wars conversation one idiot will say it like it's the greatest in-joke ever. The "who shot first" thing too on that note.

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

All of them.

People call Winston Harambe in OW a bunch and my friend has a friend who joins our Discord occasionally and basically talks in Memes or meme-voices and its fucking annoying. Can't understand a word.

PC Master Race. I'm surprised how prevalent it is, even in gamedev circles. It feels like the irony in it's original context has also vanished, which makes it even more weird.

Brexit. The way that a lot of popular media/news make jokes about Marmite prices going up and everyone pretending to be outraged (Thanks Brexit = Thanks Obama etc.) but really this is just the beginning of something much worse.

Advice Dog spinoffs.

It's resulted in literally every single image macro made today to follow the same formula of:

Code:
Line 1 at the top of the image

Image that didn't even need words in the first place

Line 2 at the bottom of the image

Impact font, white text, black stroke and done.

Trump's speech patterns.

Why would anyone want to remind people of him, or emulate anything about him?

I kinda get that one though, it is a really silly over the top thing. The "do not want" version from the Chinese bootleg is better though.

Backstroke of the West is amazing. "Mr. President, we are for the big."

It's a trap is wonderful don't you dare.

It says a lot about a person when they willing call themselves part of a master race. It's one thing to think that PCs are better than consoles, but it's another to be a dick about it. And I say this as a person that plays most of my games on PC.

Ugggh. I had to stop playing Winston because people in voice chat just would not shut up about it. It was a real shitty incident, and all the dumb "dicks out" stuff is super grating.
