United States Election: Nov. 8, 2016 |OT| Hate Trumps Love

In the end I couldn't pull the trigger on Trump. While he's someone who I really wanted to vote for on an emotional level, you have to realize that he simply isn't a true believer, just another GOP snake oil salesman, only more bombastic and less intelligent. I am glad he ran, and I hope his movement continues to grow and eventually pushes the Grover Norquist chamber of commerce types out of the party. This time it was free trade, in four years it might be regressive taxation, or lax financial regulation, or labor rights. When the day comes that the base fully awakens and forces the party to move beyond trickle down and hostility to labor, I’ll be ready to support them, but until then I’ll continue to begrudgingly vote for Democrats.

Not every state requires ID. NY doesn't, I just gave my address and signature and that was it.

If your signature doesn't match the previously logged one, they'll ask for ID. Mine has
d
evolved since the last one, so I had to show ID. Not a big deal for me since I have it on my person at all times while I'm out anyhow.

Was it the Redskins ad that broke you

.... I honestly thought Alucard was trolling.

Or is this reaction part of the joke?

I honestly can't tell.

I'm running on three hours of sleep, I need help.

You just taught GAF how to love again.

Just voted in a college town in Virginia. Took about fifteen minutes in total at the one elementary school in town. They used paper ballots deposited in a machine. I asked the attendant there how the turnout was and he said "heavy".

Stickered up and off to work.

45min line in Fairfax, VA at 7am. Didn't realize it would be that long that early.

Where? I'm in Herndon, and was in and out in under 5 minutes. There wasn't even a line.

My area is relatively conservative by Northern Virginia standards, so maybe the local Republicans aren't super enthused with Trump.

Yes, I did the sane thing and voted for Hillary.

I was driving west on the I-10 in Phoenix, AZ and saw a huge billboard that said:

"VOTE NO MURO, NO TRUMP"

which is

VOTE NO WALL, NO TRUMP

Sadly, I didn't get a picture as I was driving and didn't want to crash.

I am really interested to see what the total Latino voter turnout is going to be, especially in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.

I.....

Uh....wow. This is something. Just....wow. I'm at a loss for words.

To commit fraud you'd have to...

- Know this was the voting location of the person whose name and address you have
- Able to copy their signature (they compare them with the one you used to register)
- Assume they have not voted before you
- Assume they are not already voting for who you want to commit fraud for (or it will all have been pointless)

That seems like wayyy too much effort and time for one single "extra" vote.

Yeah, that is a LOT of work when you add in all tjose other details, lol.

OH MY GOD. WHAT IS GOING ON!?! Thank you for the turnaround you have been one of the most vocal on here. wow. good for you man. Maybe this makes you want to run or get involved locally at minimum. Im glad you realized he is a used car salesman.

72nd voter at my polling place this morning. Was there at 6:30 AM. First time I've voted and it feels amazing.

Doing my part to turn Missouri blue!

Nah he was die hard Trump. I'm truly shocked by that and honestly if he didn't just post his ballot, I wouldn't believe it. Guess he just had a realization I hope many will have, Trump doesn't really care about the issues he's campaigning on. He latches on to ideas he thinks will gain him more praise and he'll ditch them just as easily.

Bloomington-Normal IL-GAF reporting in. I was in and out of my polling place within 10 minutes. So disappointed that many local offices do not even have a Democratic candidate to vote for. But I can at least say that I did my part for Hildawg...even though there was like a .000000001% chance of Illinois going for Trump.

ALL THIS GODDAMN NONSENSE

AND ALUCARD VOTED FOR CLINTON

At this rate I'm expecting a fucking meteor to just crash land ON me and only me

unless it's a fake photo

Holy shit. I know this sounds weird, but I feel like Hillary's going to for sure win now. No sarcasm at all. I'm glad you thought it through, man.

i don't see why people make a big deal of someone voting trump here. if the voter themselves think whatever candidate will do them best go for it, thats the whole point of voting, vote for whoever you think will improve your life.

At my polling booth, they said this was the longest line we've had in the past five elections. We had to wait an hour and a half to get to vote when it's normally about 20 minutes!
