Totally different scenarios. Bernie Sanders was trying to put pressure in favor of the movement that was ridiculized by mainstream democrats, the movement that was the only way out of this fucking mess.
 
I know that we've all felt a mixture of misery, anxiety and gallows humour tonight. But I want one message to resonate with everyone, especially those in the USA: Love Always Wins. <3
No matter who is the President, or runs congress, the *people* are still the ones with the final say. So no matter how much there will be to overcome in the next few years, know that every step of the way it will be opposed and overcome by the love people have for one another. This can be a galvanizing moment for your country. The western world *always* trends forwards, even if steps are occasionally taken back by a desperate and dying section of the population.
I know this isn't the end; in fact, it's just the beginning.
I love you all. <3

I kinda get a little tired of this meme. Not only is it low hanging fruit, but also America doesn't have one job. In fact, the idea that "President" is the on thing to worry about is a problem.

An unrepentant "fuck you" to anyone that voted for this asshole. Millions of innocent and already-marginalized citizens, minorities, the LGBTQ community, women, are about to suffer the effects for decades.

Well, republicans can't complain about anything in government now, they got it on lock, and when they fail, I can't wait to see who they blame.

Really hope we don't get to see what's happening in Kansas and Oklahoma nationwide.

Other than that, the world won't end, but damn does it get harder to be a minority in this country, feel bad for my friends who were finally able to get jobs through DACA.

At least I look white, but damn this will be a tough 4 years.

I feel guilty. As an employed straight white male, this will effect me very little on a personal level. I just have a seeping dread of the future now. We have reached the darkest time line. Who knows where we go from here.

I lot of people are going to suffer just so some people can learn something they should have picked up from history first hand. It's like the anti-vax movement but even more terrifying.
 
America has made a huge mistake. Still can't believe that a person so unfit for public office is the most powerful person in the world.

Everyone just underestimated how much Hillary is hated.

Honestly, she's probably having the realization that she will never become president. She couldn't beat Obama, who was considered a big underdog, and 8 years later lost to Trump and a divided GOP. She'll never sniff a democratic nomination again.

That's what the electoral college is supposed to be for. But they don't work like that anymore.
 
6 year GOP strategy played out. They got everything they wanted, even had to bitch and whine to block a SCOTUS nom.

Again, this is the same country that reelected George W. Bush even after the Iraq war had proven to be fought on baseless grounds. I thought the American electorate was naïve. I didn't put it beyond them to support Trump in spades.

What I didn't expect was to see that so much of the electorate was so inherently racist. I thought that it was just a vocal minority. Today I was proved wrong.
