Wisconsin has a GOP governor, voter ID laws, and you lost to Sanders in the primary.
AND SHE DID NOT SET FOOT IN THE STATE. AT ALL.
Hey now Trump had a rally in my Wisconsin town and it still voted blue. Aha....ahahaha...

He did an interview on a late night show a couple of weeks after the DNC talking about Trump's supporters. He basically said that he knew what they were going through. He actually talked about them rather passionately. I'm kinda surprised he didn't have more of a voice in the campaign. He was often bused around to areas completely unnoticed by anyone.
That's why I think someone like Biden or Bernie wouldn't have done any better. People wanted change. Trump's campaign wasn't exactly as inspirational as Obama's, but it was a similar idea: The old regime sucked, let me make your lives better.
Clinton was a Trump plant
Hillary didn't allow Bill much of a voice during the election. Maybe it was her hubris, or a determination to not be seen as his shadow. I wonder what the state of their relationship is.

Bernie had his own problem with a dysfunctional campaign. His use of Jeff Weaver as his campaign manager genuinely makes me think he wasn't in it to win it from the start, and that his primary goal was to get his message out there.
of course it was. what did she do late august/most of september when trump was traveling all of the country and doing last minute spontaneous trips to Mexico? I have no idea and most people dont either.

So many of us saw this happening in real time. Hillary's fanbase wouldn't hear any of it. Turns out hillary herself wouldn't hear it either.
So did Obama.Well, it's not the Clintons. It's Hillary. Bill told her to focus on outreach with poor working-class whites.

In a weird twist I think I hate the Clintons almost as much as all my conservative relatives now
Bill took a sledgehammer to welfare in the 90s and continued the War On Drugs and Hillary just fucking handed the country over to the GOP and lost to FUCKING TRUMP
Remember when Hillary Clinton said this?
New theory: Hillary Clinton was a secret Trump plant
Flint.
Trump may be a vile PoS, but it's becoming apparent that Clinton really did deserve to lose. I mean what were she and her campaign doing?
So did Obama.
It's mystifying.
It's almost as if she thought that the universe had already cast her luck.
ah, that's even worse considering Flint's demographics.
You realize catchy phrases don't easily translate into actionable decisions, right? You can easily say "expect the unexpected", but when you have limited time and have to put your focus into certain areas and demos, it doesn't help figure out what to do. Polls are suppose to be reliable and data driven, and if you can't rely on them, and can only go based on intuition then...well, it becomes difficult to know what works. Let's say you have a feeling you're not putting enough focus on one state and go after that. How do you validate if your approach is working if you can't trust polling data?
Was it a McDonald's?Bill Clinton stopped in my town in Southern Ohio by himself, granted he just walked through and ate some food. He was here a couple times back in the 90s when he was running. I dont think anyone else from her campaign came here the entire cycle.

Bill's efforts were rational given the time. The welfare thing played too poor working-class whites who rightly or wrongly did not like their tax dollars going to unemployed or underemployed minorities due to Reagan's message in the 80s. The war on drugs continued as gang crime continued to be a big item early in the 90s. That played well to older minorities and white people.
Hillary's gaffes are far less forgiveable cause she was a centrist that made concessions, but she didn't even entertain the thought of placating the white working-class. All the ideas she compromised on amounted to nothing cause she did not want to interact with disaffected poor whites.
So did Obama.
It's mystifying.

If he, like so much of the country, thought the GOP was a mess and Clinton was going to be our next president, it makes sense that he would run that tactic. Maybe he wanted to push her further left, was shocked by how much support he got nationally, but was too late to grab the reins.
So did Obama.

She was the most liberal major party candidate to ever run.

It was a mismanaged campaign from the start,

Polls had her up. Blame the polls. Not her.
How long is it going to take before we run out of excuses and people finally start focusing on the reality that politics has failed and has been failing too many people for too long now.
Plus, only a tiny portion of the population wants a candidate who's more liberal than Obama.

Oh they're still acting that way, hop into the community thread and enjoy the nostalgic feeling of undeserved arrogance and being shouted down.

No, worse. Clinton ran in firm belief that she already won.

I'm not confident about that happening. I think Trump will do a lot of what he said he would do. As long as his health care replacement isn't a disaster, he might keep this super duper majority for all four years.
It's so ironic that I went from thinking everyone else had to change to realizing that I had to do some growing up as well. I guess that happens when you live (both online and offline) in a progressive bubble.

Didn't she practically live in Pennsylvania and she still lost it? Seems like the get out the vote drive was lacking everywhere and all the polls were off so tracking wouldn't have helped much either.
Too many people seemed to not care about this election or felt that she was just as bad as Trump, that's the reality.
