Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

this game is legit so fun, i like how marcus dresses like an actual fashionable person would dress, every fit is legit
I've never cared more about buying clothes in a game than this one. I rocked the same outfit for like 40 hours in GTA. I've changed 20 times already in this. Great selection. So much of it too.

How feasible is to play without shooting a lot? I don't know much about the story or protagonist, but the premise and such doesn't seem like it fits with the character getting into massive shootouts
You can play the entire game non-lethal and to help with that you're given a stun gun immediately and non-lethal hand to hand takedowns.

And side note, it doesn't fit at all. I have no problems with lethal gameplay but when I started
shooting low level security guards on a movie set I was breaking into to steal a script for a parody trailer
, the moral dilemma cropped up.

I feel like I should reiterate, because my post got buried under other replies but: I had an NPC essentially call me a faggot. Is this...not surprising to people?

What does it mean when you hack a person and it gives you a battery? I.e you can hack conversations , money and the other option is a battery ?

Anyone else finding it annoying you have to unclock and reclick your hacking for each individual in the crowd ? Whereas in the first one it would just auto flick between everybody.

You get batteries to charge your phone after hacking things. Like, if you hack a car and move it, the battery will go down, so you can either wait for it to recharge or hack into another person's phone for one.

It's weird hearing a lot of impressions that the driving is worse now when the journalist previews all said they were much better. I didn't have a problem with the driving in WD1 and thought the motorcycles controlled great so now I'm sweating. It looks twitchy as heck in the videos but I can't tell if it controls like Saints Row (baaaddd) or GTA V (good).

One thing I found quite funny was how several of the previews talked about how the Driver devs were involved with the driving so it will be different this time. I'm sure I remember something similar from 3 years ago:

Oh shit, just heard Megadeth in the background while watching the GB Quick Look

Nice to see Metal in an open-world game again. It was a drag to see GTAV and SR4 forget the genre.

Be warned - seems like most hand-to-hand takedowns are actually lethal! Not sure how to trigger the non-lethal takedowns consistently.

Also, what's up with the rasta dude in Dedsec? He's literally nowhere in group chat and cutscenes.

Fine, you guys. Last Guardian was supposed to be my last $60 game of the year, but this sounds really good. Would you say it's Watch Dog's Assassin's Creed 2?

One of my favorite things to do in open world games is walking around and just people-watching. How good a game is for that is one of the factors that elevates an open world above others for me. This sounds like the perfect game for that.

I have only played like 6-8 hours.. but I would say so far it is much better than WD1 in many aspects.. I ran into a group of guys having a small BBQ/dinner party. they were getting pretty drunk.. next door was a large party with music and girls... lots of interesting conversations hah.. game looks good on OG PS4, and so far all of the characters are decent. I am having way more fun so far than I have had in WD1.. and the MP is not even out yet... that's the best part.

I should add that I rarely people watch in these types of games.. but I have found myself walking over to groups, checking out party's and going into backyards just to see what's going on in this game.

is 1.06 going to patch in the multiplayer fix? if so that's too bad :( the MP is so much fun.. game is great.

1.06 was the multiplayer patch but due to issues the release and version number is now tbd. A lot of hours are being spent to fix things asap.

I didn't expect to be hooked by this game as much as I am right now. 2:30 am, work tomorrow, had to force myself to quit.

Btw you do get money quickly? I want to buy the drone but only have 30k after 3 or 4 main missions.

Good to hear. I actually thought WD1 did a fairly good job of making the NPCs seem alive but this sounds like an improvement.

I unlocked stun grenades... It says use r1 to use them... but pressing r1 does nothing. How do I use these things?

Oh man that doesn't sound good at all. Watch Dogs 1 had sublime on-foot controls and I always was worried when I heard they changed the sprint from the right trigger to L3. I'm gonna need to be able to remap those controls Ubi.

Having just came from GTAV it's definitely bad. They have no sense of weight or anything at all and it has the 'on rails' feel of poorly made driving mechanics. At best they're functional, but the downside is the lack of any weight or decent traction/loss of traction leaves it as nothing more than a means to an end rather than any fun in itself.

Yeah, I don't get it. They said Ubi Reflections helped with Ghost Recon Wildlands and the driving looks way better there. Maybe they sent the janitor over to the Watch Dogs team.

Dangit. Maybe they just need to jack some code from The Crew (still bad driving but is still better).

I highly recommend getting the call police/Frame someone or call ganging members.

I just started at the New Dawn Temple a HUGE shi* fight between 3 gangs, the New Dawn guards and the police. Was utter carnage hahah! The body count by the end was 20+

What's weird is that the preview used this to say that the driving was better than WD1, I guess unaware that WD1 was also using the Driver engine. I'm not saying the driving is bad. I haven't played it. Just found that weird.

As an SF native born and raised, I'm willing to give this game a pass even after cutting about half of the size of Golden Gate Park and make it two blocks away from Japantown. It's only a game.

But how the fuck do you not have bicycles in this game? That's so much of what SF is. Can't be THAT hard to have it in.

I am loving this game so much more than Watch Dogs 1. Just finished the mission that was clearly a martin shrekli parody. I'm Bobo Dakes.

It is definitely the perfect game for that.

Tonally the game is excellent. They embraced the ridiculous concept that the game is based around but not to the extent of going full parody like Saints Row or ending up trying way too hard to be edgy like with Sunset Overdrive (which was basically stevebuscemifellowkids.jpg)

I do feel like the on foot controls are worse this time around though, compared to Watch Dogs 1 which was just on point. They should have kept running bonded to R2 with automatic parkour like Assassin's Creed, it serves no purpose to have it bounded to L3 and having R2 pressed for climbing/parkour. The cover system also feels wonky and this is the first game with Ubisoft cover system (yea they do have a trademark system that is seen in splinter cell, watch dogs, division, ghost recon...which I consider 2nd best after Gears) where it doesn't feel as good. The cover system was the best in The Division.

Question about this game, how populated is the game? I been hearing mixed reports about how barren it is. Thoughts?

It's noticeably barren in terms of NPCs compared to most open world games. Especially jarring coming off the AC series really pushing crowd density. It's not a wasteland or anything, but it does feel a little drained of life.

There's also less people and cars in your way, which makes navigation nice but you can fast travel everywhere anyway.

I agree that the on foot controls feel worse. That was the big advantage WD had over GTA, and moving sprint to a separate button screwed the whole scheme up.

Just combine sprint and parkour and put it on R2 like the first game did.

Game is fun besides that. Driving is noticeably improved, though a couple of the early chases were a bit tough.

Turn off "auto target line" in settings under hud. You still have the white diamond.

You're welcome.

Man, just realized that that AR mini-game with the coin race tracks in WD1 would've gone really well with Marcus's parkour moveset, the animations don't hit the heights of AC at it's best but when you hit a flow it looks and feels pretty good, this is like the only 3rd person game with actual parkour. Also really surprised at how much stuff is actually climbable, they said it wouldn't be like AC but this is pretty close. I share the sentiment that I preferred the WD1 sprint control scheme, R2/RT to sprint and O/B to parkour just feels right. I'd even settle for just R2. Hope that new patch has some control customization and an FOV slider.

just got done playing co-op with my brother for just shy of three hours. So fucking gooooooood. Love that we can do so much together, between the co-op missions and finding stuff around the world, on top of those random dedsec events.

Personally I'm fine with the on-foot controls except for two things:

- There's not smooth transition between walk and run (not sprint). So you can't start walking slowly or faster, it's just walk or run, with a stopping animation when you go from run to walk.

- No jump or crouch button. I like to do both freely. I can live without them, but hey...

Is anyone else laughing out loud at some of the pedestrian text message conversations? I am running around hacking these and having the best fucking time.

Ubi did a fantastic job on the world building.

I'm from SF and they really nailed the city. I can navigate around and have a pretty good idea of where I am at all times when in Marin, Oakland and SF proper. The valley is just as boring and awful as it is in real life as well.

Amazing NPC interactions as well. I drove to Ocean Beach to look at the sunset, and on top one of the old WW2 gun emplacements a guy was proposing to his boyfriend with the sun setting behind them.

These are the same issues I have. Shocked there isn't a crouch button at the very least.
