Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

I played the first one for ten minutes and enjoyed it. Do I need to have played more of the first to get the story in part 2? Is there anything in part 2 that isn't as good as the first game?

I am riding a motorbike in underwear while listening to LFO (Leeds Warehouse Mix), I think we're going to be good friends, watch_dogs_2.

A lot of that had to have been downgrade talk, unless that was forbidden.

How much of that 25 page discussion was downgrade-focused?

No clue- didn't read it. Just marked when release day started (this was back before new OT rules so thread was already over 150 pages) and by 4pm that afternoon there were 25 new pages.

Very happy with the positive impressions here and looking forward to the PC release in 2 weeks but no doubt the release seems incredibly muted.

Really loving the writing in this one
Especially Horatio and Marcus discussing what it's like to be black in a corporate environment. So happy that they got a black protagonist in this and actually made it matter.

I really really like the atmosphere, such cool ideas and execution.
Love how it captures our zeitgeist.

Ubisoft created something very unique and memorable.

This game is pretty awesome.

- hacked a police car
- it drove backwards into a bus
- bus driver gets out of the bus and asked the police officer "what happened"
- bus driver gets arrested immediatly for intentionally crashing into a police car

lmao

Really enjoying the game as well.
Got some amazingly funny missions in it. Enjoying the Tom Cruise one at the moment haha :D

It's reminding me more of Saints Row rather than Watch dogs that's for sure. And that's a very good thing in my opinion.

I just finished that one. The last section is brutal! I'm also liking the characters, especially wrench. I didn't see that happening when I looked at the previews haha.

Just for grins and giggles I checked the first Watch Dogs OT and that thread posted 25 pages at this point on day of release.
Back in those days OTs would go up a full week before release. Still, this OT is moving really slowly. :/

So seems like this is a marked improvement over the first.. Is driving still poor like before? Does Marcus feel good to control? How is mission structure and content variety?

I am deciding between getting this or Dishonored 2 and am having a rough time. :p

I really really like the game. I like the protagonsit and I like the vibe compared to the last game and it's gorgeous.

That said, I'm not really enjoying or getting the combat/sneaking compared to the last one. Maybe I need to upgrade abilities more but I remember in the last game I'd basically go through a fortress and disable things and camera hop through it and I could get trough a lot of places largely unseen.

In this I have guards waking up quickly after being stunned or when I do a non-lethal small explosion the entire area gets aggro'd basically undoing anything I had done previously.

I can just shoot my way through but that seems to go totally against the story/protagonist thus far consider what the missions have usually involved: victimless crime and/or hijinks. Shooting a guard in the head because he's working security in front of a car I need is ridiculous.

I'm hoping I'm just not that great at the game yet or I'll get better upgrades because right now the quiet way is more frustrating than it should be when I don't feel like mowing people down in this type of game.

Can you consistently frame other people for car crashes? Like, is it a bug or a real feature?

Driving is definitely better. It's GTA-esque. I adjusted to how it handled very quickly.

Marcus feels very good to control. Moving on foot in this game is night and day compared to the last and I really like the parkour.

I haven't done a ton of missions but it feels more varied than before and it helps that why you are doing things is a lot more interesting/fun than what Aiden was doing. I thought the first game was way up its own ass. This is much less so. It has a quirkiness I don't think everyone will love but I like all the main characters before. They feel like actual millennials.

I loved Dishonored but 2 hasn't grabbed me yet (about 2/3 through the story) and I stopped playing it in favor of this and will be playing this to completion first. Make of that what you will. They're obviously very different.

Thats a bug. Its already been reported. Not sure if they can fix it but thats not the desire originaly.
Since the game has a bit of an overthetop feel to it maybe they won't fix it.

I just did the New Dawn mission and the combat/encounters are stressing me out. I start out trying to do it sneaky, but once a guy calls for reinforcements you can switch to plan B aka take everyone out. I use the rc car and cameras, maybe I need to lure more people to traps. But that just raises the alert more. Then I entered the church and while I was figuring the puzzle out, got discovered again. Said fuck it and shot everyone down.

I need to buy that drone and a silenced pistol asap :p

I love how your interactions can fuck up or improve NPCs moods. I'm walking around trying to spread happiness while I'm doing my non-lethal hacking shenanigans.

So so good. Taking a break...been playing 4 hours straight.

Is there anyway to see stats? Like stuns/kills/etc?
I'd really like to know this, just completed false prophets the last mission was really good, also was listening to waypoint and Austin really nailed it just the brief interaction between Horatio and Marcus was great and something I've done plenty of times before

Thank you for answering! I think I'm gonna watch streams of both tonight but I'm heavily leaning towards WD at this point.

Reads like a follow up on that post I made above. I really don't want to have to resort to shooting people. I made it through once and then died from fall damage by being impatient lmao.

The webcam invasions having different animations and dialogue based on what you do is a really neat touch.

Yeah read it, and I agree that it feels wrong to go full lethal... but it's the quickest option sometimes. I don't want to keep restarting the mission tbh. It really doesn't fit the gang though, the disconnect is way bigger than in GTA.

I didn't play the previous game and I didn't expect the encounters to be this intricate.

No you can't frame them but they will start blaming each other when you hack cars and make them drive into other cars. I don't know about the police though, it was my first time hacking a police car ^^

I hacked a car and rammed a cop car with it. They got out and gunned the driver down. The paramedics showed up and I reversed the cop car into the crowd of bystanders. I'm an awful person.

It seems like you should get the drone asap, right?

Lol, I did the same thing and the cops killed a random civilian, haha.

Control scheme changes are baffling. On foot controls feel more sluggish than the first game. Really disappointing.

The pointless parkour backflips are already driving me insane.

so i ordered the Collectors Edition from Ubisoft directly so i could get the little RC drone thing, but the package showed up today and it's just the Limited Edition. game only. no drone, no nothing.

EDIT: turns out they are shipping the RC robot thing separate, and have no ETA on when those will ship at all. *sigh*

Oh, that's what I meant. And man that sounds awesome. Thanks!

One thing I'm gonna try when I get the game is calling the cops on someone and then standing on the cop car as I cheer and dance.

Yup, its brutal, but once I learned you can
RC car the puzzle, THEN sneak onto the lift
, it made life alot easier.

Man, Mafia lll did a number on my mind with these controls. That first tutorial mission was a disaster.

Loving the intro so far, though.

Yeah I've honestly never played a game where I thought the disconnect was this high. Maybe the stakes will change or something will be revealed but right now shooting just feels weird and I hope I can get over it.

Do you get the drone through a story mission or do you actually have to buy it?
