Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

I'm trying to remember, what new fire types are in Sun and Moon? Are there a decent number of them and I'm just drawing a blank, since I'm wondering if I should go for Litten if only to avoid a possible DP or ORAS situation where there is a dearth of Fire types outside of the starter.

Salandit is amazing. Its fragile but it will become more durable as it grows. The sp atk is strong with that one. Incineroar is completely reliable.

Forreal I don't think there was any 7th gen fire types aside from those two?

Edit: ahh oricorio and turtanator

I have no idea how breeding or natures work and all I want is a Lilligant with a nature that works well so it can be qt and good.
Time to fumble.

This game made me remember what a great addition Exp Share was to this series. I remember in the older games I rarely had more than 3 Pokemon appropriately leveled at a given time, because I couldn't be bothered spending time grinding for XP on all 6 (especially when the games weren't challenging enough to require it). Now my team can roll 6 deep and they can all hold their own. Nice to have a proper full team without much grinding required.

Just did my first island scan and caught chikorita with 2 minutes to spare. Next Pokémon I find is a Modest Abra with a Twisted Spoon. The Alolan gods are with me.

Enjoying this so far. Seriously impressed by how story driven this game is. It's a huge departure from the other Pokemon games, and much needed at that. Wish the battles were a little faster though.

The game's dialogue has been so great so far. I love how just when I was thinking "why the fuck does Kukui bother to ring the doorbell if he's just gonna let himself in anyway? the rude fuck," mom says something like "If that's Kukui again, he'll probably just let himself in before we can answer the door."

Can you seriously not obtain a Lucky Egg until the post game? I have over 50 in my Dex and I'm trying to find Kukui but he's nowhere to be found.

Is Crablawer worth using? I caught one with Hyper Cutter instead of Iron Fist but the dex shows another one nearby so I'm gonna try for Iron Fist. He does look awesome

Is Rockruff supposed to die in one hit to everything

Because mine is and I'm getting sick of trying to get it up to speed.

You better stick that shit out or dont even bother raising wimpod, salandit or stufful.

This ghost totem was ohdee!! Omg. Freaking creepy. I almost got wrecked!! If you want challenge, turn off exp share and change to battle set!!!

Edit : Gen 7 is a ghost killer. Everything knows bite and crunch.

Litten line
Salandit line
Oricorio
Turtonator

In addition to the new Pokemon there's also Alolan Marowak.

If you really wanna know...

Litten line, Fire Oricoro, Salandit line, Turtonator (Sun Exclusive)

Growlithe is on the first island though. Some older ones might pop up every now and then, but in terms of new Gen VII Pokemon it's slim pickings.

Thanks all.

Does Fire Oricoro actually learn any fire type moves on its own, or does Bulbapedia need to be updated?

I wish Growlithe wasn't a stone evolution. Having to wait until Growlithe learns all of its moves before evolving it to Arcanine, somewhere around level 45, is such a pain in single player. Which is a shame because Arcanine is rad as hell.

revelation dance matches Oricorio's nonflying type, so fire oricorio gets fire revelation dance

Spent 2 hours trying to find the perfect Pichu (I got 2 Quiet Pichu's in a row...) and then ran into this beauty

It was all worth it :')

Ok I arrived at the second island. Here are some first island impressions.

+POKEMON
+The whole area was well-designed with alternate routes, hidden areas, and teases that make you want to come back when you get the Tauros. There were some nice in-field gimmicks, like the Pokemon attacking you in the grass and the flying shadows on top of the mountain. It was definitely fun to explore, and I like how once you beat the Kahuna, more paths open up so you can traverse it more easily.
+Actually a bit of challenge. Teacher Emily wasn't playing. Totem Raticate was fairly strong (if you don't just nuke him with your level 20 starter), and the Kahuna having access to a Z Power could definitely catch people off guard. Still not blisteringly hard, but there are some moments where you can be taken advantage of if you're not careful.
+Pokefinder is much better here than in the demo. You can just press R at certain spots as opposed to having to go through some confirmation dance, and each spot has a series of different Pokemon so it's worthwhile to use more than once. I do wish you could share pictures on Miiverse, I don't want to save them to my SD card.
+Although the Dex is smaller than XY, there is still a lot of diversity. I didn't expect a Smeargle or Vullaby so early. I also like how patches of grass in one area can have different Pokemon. Past games did something similar to this with taller grass, but now it's much more ingrained.
+Festival Plaza is confusing, but there are some interesting shops and the missions are dumb yet addictive.
+General QoL things like remembering what moves are effective and the Pokeball button are really nice.

-I'm already missing the PSS. I have no idea if my friends are on, and communicating with random people is not as streamlined as it was before. I was getting requests to battle and trade all the time when I started XY, but here not so much.
-HP bar moves so slowly. I shouldn't be able to see each individual point tick down.
-Bring back hordes.

I will also say that the tutorials are not as long as many people claim they are. You can blaze through them pretty quickly, but the constant stream of cutscenes when you get to the city are a bit annoying. You can still head more or less straight to the marina to let you get into Route 2 though.

Mudbray you beast.

I got Stamina for an ability and it seems like if he survives a couple hits with 50%+ HP he's going to last forever.

Bulldoze is hilarious because he is still constantly being outsped by the Eevee or Lilipup on Route 4. Getting two things spamming Baby Doll Eyes on me is funny as fuck though.

God I'm really tempted to buy this game. I've always liked Pokemon from a distance but haven't gotten into the ones I've tried. I last played Pokemon X and I could only put in about 6 hours before I got bored mainly because the game felt so un-modern.

I know there are a lot of changes in Sun/Moon with some saying its the best and most modern designed pokemon game to date. I'm tempted but don't want to regret my purchase...

Man those totem fights can be absolutely no joke.

Spoilers of how I was absolutely destroyed for the grass one
Lurantis summoned a castform who used sunny day. Powering up both her synthesis hp regen move and her solar blade Vegito attack that just tore through everyone. The castform's fire mode then proceeded to make my bug counters 110% dead. I've never had that much fun watching the A.I. in a pokemon game completely demolish and out tactic me like that.
