Holy crap! Two hours in-game and I just caught a shiny Slowpoke!

First time was WAY back in Gold with maybe a Zubat or Onix.

Second was in Y using the Masuda Method to hatch a shiny Noibat.

So Toxapex's preevo only shows up when you chain Corsola right? And it only shows up in the special fishing spots..lord.

It makes sense because the overworld appears linear but aside from the nice hidden spots and range, the actual grass patches all vary. 2 different grass patches next to each other can have 2 completely different type of pokemon. It makes looking for things really fun.

Protip: If you've seen it, The Pokedex gives you the exact location

I really have been loafing on Ula Ula, the launch excitement has me wanting to get involved with y'all, Im glad everyone is enjoying the game.

Im rushing to the Ghost Trial now, My team is young adults 30s and the game is still as before, Ula still has trainers with one or two pokemon and I really feel the challenge is minimal. I've honestly been having more trouble with wildmon but i love that lol.

Edit: Can we take a moment of silence for the bug buff this gen? 2 great additions, leech life physical 80 dmg. Lawd.

These tutorials are insanely annoying. 1.5hrs into the game and still popping up. I just wanna play without them :\

Do we know how much each chain for an SOS Battle will increase the chance of encountering a Pokémon with a Hidden Ability? I'm trying to get a Steadfast Rockruff (Grubbin & Rowlet have flinch-inducing moves but the chances of that effect activating are low) and can't seem to find one.

Also, does inflicting status cause the SOS battle to end? I paralyzed a Rockruff and it wouldn't call for help 20 turns after the status was inflicted..

You should be able to give visitors an option of sending them to several facilities. Send them to the right one and they'll give you FC (4-8 is what i'm currently receiving per visitor).

Totem Wishiwashi is a great fight. One of the most challenging things in a Pokemon game outside of the Battle Frontier.

So Feebas only has a 1% encounter rate yet they give you a sidequest to capture one? This game is cruel.

The thought bubble above their head will be red before you talk to them.

But he seriously needs to pick up the pace on the friendship. Almost level 20 and still won't evolve...

I wouldn't have used Munchlax from the event, but he came at level 5 and you can nickname him, so he fits right in.

I think after you get coins from them they kind of linger, but get replaced eventually if they aren't saved as VIP?

I'm not sure if you can obtain FC from the same guest.

Go on missions. Talk to the woman in front to host one, or you can join one in progress. If you see a red text bar scroll at the bottom while online, that's a live mission you can join. If a lot of people join you can easily get 40 to 50 coins in two minutes.

Also people with red name boxes in your Plaza will give you coins. AND if you Wonder Trade, go inside your castle. You can talk to the last person you traded with and get more coins.

Yeah, I've had issues with a couple of totem Pokemon, but nothing too bad. I'm generally about the same level as most trainers. But once I got to the third island.... NOPE. Everything was 2-4 levels under, lol.

No complaints though. I'd prefer to be underleveled than overleveled.

Alolan Rattata was like the first wild Pokemon I ran into lol. Don't quote me on this but I think you can find it in the first city.

It only comes out at night in the field, but I think the Verdant Cavern has them at any time. You could always do the Wonder Trade gamble.

I just realized something. One reason why the 3D features in this game has been scaled back so much could be because of Pokemon Stars, the Nintendo Switch exclusive Pokemon game coming next year.

What I mean is, in order to be in parity with Pokemon Stars, Pokemon S/M needed to have the same feature set or similar feature set. Since the Switch doesn't have a Glasses-free 3D display like the 3DS, when they were developing S/M, the couldn't make it have as many 3D areas because GF could've also been making S/M with Pokemon Stars in mind.

There are a few. Oricorio has a fire form. Salandit is fire. Turtonator is part fire as well.

Growlithe is on the first island though. Some older ones might pop up every now and then, but in terms of new Gen VII Pokemon it's slim pickings.
