Are there any comparison videos 3DS VS N3DS on performance? I'm noticing a more stable framerate in double battles versus the original.

Game is great so far, I feel like I'm going pretty slowly, just got to the 2nd trial area with 8 hours in.

Can other people see your Festival Plaza name? Because I've discovered that the usual censorship in place for names is not applied here. You can name your place Ass Land if you really wanted too.

(This is unlocked at Rank 20. I had a bunch of other stuff to do today, so I've just been grinding out ranks tonight. Thank you Type Matchup missions.)

Real talk I'm not sure if I will end up using a water type on my team because I've yet to see any interesting new ones (at least, the ones I have seen have a dual type with another mon of that type I want to use) but if I do it'll be this guy. School Form just annihilates everything with Scald.

Made it to Poni Island. I must have really wanted Jangmo-o to be blazing through the game at this pace. Thankfully it evolves very quickly considering the level you obtain it, so my team is finally complete!

Primarina, Muk, Arcanine, Mudsdale, Lurantis, Kommo-o. (And yes, I waited till level 45 for Growlithe to learn Flare Blitz. A little Eviolite goes a long way.)

Where do you get an Eviolite from?

Wow this game is getting incredibly good

BIG PLOT SPOILERS
Just fought Lusamine in the Aether Foundation. That was actually pretty damn difficult. All of her pokemon out leveled mine and I had to use a ton of items to survive. Enjoying the story a ton.

So there really doesn't seem to be any StreetPass function. Extremely strange, since that was one aspect of ORAS that Game Freak beefed up. Even XY had free Pokemiles. This really makes me wonder if they didn't include anything due to the future Switch version.

would anyone mind helping me get a rowlett and popplio? An egg or whatever is fine. I don't really have anything worthwhile to trade at the moment, but if I end up with a female of either i can start to breed some to help others. I just made it to the breeding place, but my starter is a male.

School Form is so powerful it also absolutely destroys the already bad double battle frame rate

The game clearly does not like School Form at all, it chugs. Sometimes even seems to slow down slightly during regular battles with School Form.

Extremely.

All Pokemon games are dead easy and feature an insufferably long intro tutorial.

So pretty good to newcomers.

Every Pokemon game explains things to you as if you've never played Pokemon before. This game doesn't seem to be an exception.

Thanks. I got the game for free through a trade in promotion and was planning on giving it to my nephew but then found out he doesn't have a 3ds anymore. Thinking I'm going to pickup a cheap 2ds to play it. I've been itching to play Pokémon for a long time.

How friendly is this game to someone who hasn't played Pokémon since red/blue?

I haven't played since the gba games. All the stat shit and breeding stuff I don't understand at all, but the base game is basically 90% the same. Feels fresh to me, but very linear so far.

I've been disappointed by the selection of water pokemon in this game.. i've gone to every beach and tried to fish at every opportunity and all i run into are magikarps, goldeens, and tentacools. Didn't know I was playing pokemon red/blue

My team so far, all upper 20s, low 30s

Dartrix (Lady Bow)
Wishiwashi (Dr Shoal)
Trumbeak (Sam)
Cubone (Matricide)
Snorlax (Pudge)
Mudbray (Mudward)

Trumbeak is getting the axe as soon as I get Zygarde, but this is probably looking somewhat close to what I'll beat the game with (obviously at their final forms)

Phew, SOS is exhausting. I still think they're the best iteration on the chaining mechanic yet.

If anyone needs a HA Fomantis, Cubone, or Rockruff I might be able to help you out.

I too was surprised about the lack of WATER Pokemon in HAWAII. It's like reverse Hoenn. There is a Wingull on the first island. You like Wingull, right?

But there are more options on the second island if you didn't pick Popplio:

Magikarp, Feebas, and Goldeen by fishing
Dewpider
Wishiwashi
Marrill via Island Scan on Saturday

Dewpider is quite good as it's ability makes water moves stronger than normal. Plus Scald is in the area, which is a fairly broken move in and of itself.

Sorry if its been answered but how does the QR Scanner work? Is it pretty much useless until you can get Island Scan?

QR Scanner comes with Island Scan. After you scan 10 QR codes (massive album here), you will be able to use Island Scan. One QR code scan takes two hours to recharge, so you can do Island Scan once per 20 hours (so once a day).

EvilMario

Will QA for food.
Even without O-Powers, breeding seems so fast now (with Flame Body user, of course). The speed of the mounts might have something to do with it for sure. I just the long hatching path didn't have loading scenes.

Thanks for that link! So should i scan codes for Pokemon i want, so when i unlock Island Scan i can find them ? Thats how it works right?

This is kinda annoying, we get False Swipe very early in the game but there are barely any Pokemon at that point that can learn it. Used it on Spearow for now.

Thank you for the advice! Didn't know there was a dewpider i could've gotten and Marrill was one of my favorite early gen water pokemons :)

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Slowpoke's also on Island 1 for a Water-type, I found one near Kukui's Lab.

There's no need to go into your bag when catching a pokemon. Hitting the Y button instantly takes you into a menu where you choose which ball to throw.

Totally forgot about that lol.

Lady Bow and Pudge. I love it. Named my Munchlax Chunk. Heheh.

I want more posts of peoples' teams.

So just beat the second trial at 11 hours in. This game goes on forever. O_O

Anywayz my thoughts so far: No more HMs is the best thing ever.

I really loved the chibi style of Gen VI so I was sad to see it go but I am now fully on board with Gen VII's look. Tho like Spites, it will always feel a little sad never seeing chibi style again. But atleast its heading in a amazing direction.

Alola seems like the best region so far. All the stories feel so basic but Moon's story so far is fantastic!

Sadly like Gen VII it still takes FOREVER to get in an online match.
*Searches for trainer*
*Check SD Card for some reason*
*Asks EVERYTIME weather you want automatic battle videos*
*After a minute a searching says an oppent can't be found so you have to REPEAT ALL OF IT!* (10 million preorders and I can't find an opponent?)
Nothing was fixed from X. So slow.

PokePlaze or whatever is the most trash thing I have ever seen. And this is how you get bottle caps? Y.

No blue hair like I was hoping but I think I settled on a good look.

Love the trials and hope those dumb gyms never return.

PC finally has move as the default!!!!!!!

I finally bred Oblivious Adamant Bouncesweets for Queenly Majesty.

I have a surplus. PM e is you want a Queen down the line.

Looking for anything useful but in particular...

Timid Pichu.

Jolly Rockruff (Vital Spirit)

Adamant Wimpod

Alolan Vulpix

Gible

Also do we have a general breeding trading thread yet?

I also have Male Popplios if anyone's willing to give me any Rowlet, anything moon exclusive.
