I always classify P4 as a visual novel. GAF should play more visual novels TBH. P4 isn't even the best in the bunch.
You'd cut the best part of the game, tho.
Yes already out in ny.
I wish Japan would make more stuff like Telltale's The Walking Dead in terms of production values. Having control over your character and stuff like that really adds a lot, compared to just clicking and reading.
Game has some fps issues in High resolution mode, but looks almost the same as lite mode.
Running on ps4 pro on a 4k tv with HDR on
I think while P4 matches close to Visual Novel Stylings, it shares more of its DNA with more traditional Role playing and trying to capture the day to day life of a student with special circumstances.
Yeah, and the Steins;Gate writer hasn't really done anything else worth mentioning while Urobuchi is rather shaky in terms of quality from work to work.
The ultimate battle between WRPG and JRPG
Witcher 3 vs FFXV, I expect to see this thread in a month or two

sidenote : did anyone else's best buy orders dissappear from their order history? If i search the order number it seems to be still there but my 2 orders have completely disappeared from my order history
I just tested the demo on the high settings then I noticed the framepacing. But I thought it was really not that bad, almost the same as light mode, I think it's worth it playing using the high mode.
You can say the same for many visual novels.
You got a Pro? :O
I wonder if they'll do anything for Persona 5 on the PS4 Pro, given how they didn't even get it at 60fps on regular PS4.
FFXV fans talking shit about Witcher's combat, Witcher fans talking shit about FFXV's writing.
Both acting like it's the only thing that matters for a game.
I'm not looking forward to it.
- The side quests are boring so far. Go collect this or go collect that. Hopefully they get better. I ain't expecting TW3 levels but some story behind them would be nice.
I dunno, I need to read more Visual Novels, but I like that Time apportionment is a genuine part of the gameplay in P4 even if there's objectively a correct method with you occasionally hitting different checks. There's where I find the difference in the experience in P4 than VNs.
Sigh, can't we all just join hands and appreciate what both games do well, while hoping future iterations improve on what they don't?
Yep, it juse arrived. But TBH I didn't notice many improvements using the high setting either in FF XV. It's almost the same.

^Deckard Chapel, you gotta provide some context on what those spoiler tags are (like chapter so and so spoilers) cause anyone can click them and not know what the hell it is lol
What Final Fantasy game has had 5-8 major cities?
VII had Midgar and Junon. VIII had Deling City and Esthar. IX had Alexandria, Treno, and Lindblum. X had Luca, Bevelle (which you couldn't even explore) and Zanarkand. XII had Rabanastre and Archades. XIII-2 had Academia and LR had Yusnaan and Luxerion.
That's only like 2-3 major cities with the rest of the game filled with villages and other varied locations.

Well, that's a good thing, then. Nothing making you think twice before using the Light Mode when the 60fps patch arrives
No!![]()
Uhh, yeah actually. Wtf?
Edit: My Persona 5 preorder is gone, too.
『Inaba Resident』;225335461 said:Because development is not so simple that they can just go "I think we should add some more towns and cities here" and then *poof*, it just happens. And this game was not in "development" 10 years. Its really only been 3-4 years.
No. There must be blood. The crowd demands it.
Agreed.
ok then maybe they are in the midst of shipping? im too busy to call em right now
The numbers of cities is really not THAT important on the grand scheme of things tbh
What it really matters to me is how explorable they are, how many NPC are there to chat and if the games sell you the idea that those places are really alive and moving and reacting to the things you or the antagonists do.
It's fun now to go back and compare Verendus's impressions posts to the ones that have actually played the game.
just waiting for the game to finish installing now. reversible cover is pretty ass without the ps4 logo and rating...
I have the Samsung KS8000 and if you toggle an auto motion option it will make the game look and feel as if you are playing a 60 FPS game, it does come with a cost of a bit of stutter on some parts of the screen, but nothing that will detract you from playing with those options.
Point is, even if they do have a 30FPS high quality mode, this tv can give you the smoothness of a 60FPS, call it Magic if you will.
Is there more CGI cutscenes apart of the ones from the opening and the ending?
Have a question on the radio playing final fantasy songs. Is it strictly mainline final fantasy games or do we have appearances from other square properties. Was just playing chrono trigger so you might understand why I ask.
